Movement! We've Got Movement!

Tiny little movement - Daniel Alvarado is now the commander of Evidence and Recovered Property. Evidently Toby Burton retired at some point and nobody told us.
:::shaking our fist at readers:::
Let's try to get the rumor mill back on track people.

Alvarado doesn't last in one place too long, eh? What gives? I don't know anything about him, but I don't recall a Commander being moved laterally so many times in so short a period before. I think Burton has been gone since early summer, but I may be wrong.

Nice story by Novak in the Sun-times about the 50/50 Sidewalk program rip-off scam. I just dropped about $850.00 a month or two ago. I wonder how much I'm really supposed to pay!

Priceless. An anonoymous person takes the time to type "get a life" along with some nonsense. Anyone else see the irony? Bet he works in 025.

Alvarado was a heck of a nice guy. Would have made a nice mailman or seamstress but a Commander? Give me a break, he couldn't lead a pack of Brownies. Didn't have a clue as to what life was like in the real world. He is the posterboy for those that are nutured, taken care of their entire careers,given good jobs in do nothing units and then thrust into the real world of Patrol where they flounder. I hope he realizes that this will be his last assignment, that he was dumped from 025 and sent to his present assignment for a reason. I mean, he was already told that he couldn't bring any of his favored few with him. That in itself should tell a thinking man that it's over, time to go.

Is Alvarado the first Commander ever to be dumped from 025? I think so. That won't look too good on the resume now will it?

I've worked for Alvarado and I agree that he's not the brightest bulb in the pack, however, he seemed a decent man. Certainly being used by the numbers crunchers to show that we have a sufficient number of hispanic bosses. Problem is he's now being put in charge of a unit that has been notorius for lost narcotics (?) and has even had its own people accused of stealing property and drugs. No way Alvarado can keep up with it all. Makes me think that someone is either throwing him to the wolves, wants to make him fail, or has found a way to dip into the till and figures that Dannyboy will never notice!! Go Figure!

Allegedly BURTON will be offered a spot as a high-paid civilian within the department and that is the reason he pulled the pin.

His upcoming retirement party shall be held in a phone booth. see Sgt. NORTHERN (Ret.) for tickets.

On a lighter note...
Prez Bush was at his usual morning briefing in the oval office regarding the war in Iraq. Seated around the round table were members of his cabinet including his chief of staff. During the meeting the president was informed the overnight three Brazillian soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing. Hearing this the president became furious. Slamming down his papers and tossing his coffee cup in rage. The national security advisor asked the president what was wrong. President Bush said "damn it...just how many IS three brazillion?"

Wouldn't be the first commander dumped from 025. In the '90's, they dumped a guy (Pappas I think) to an inspector position after a post Bulls-game (riot?) beer party in 025's parking lot... which he supposedly knew about or attended.

Just correcting somebody, though some of my facts may need correction. The commander was nice to his guys, and he was certainly one of the nicer inspectors. I have no idea how to fix 025 to get them to stay out of trouble though. Tis a shame as I've known at least a few nice, good workers there. But lots of goofs.

Apparently you have never heard of former 25th Dist. Cmdr. Joseph Curtin.

Curtin was a moronic version of the Marquis de Sade.
