Pension Board Election Results

Read them here or at the FOP Current Updates.
  • Information on Sergeants Trustee:
    472 Total Votes
Sergeants Representative, Michael Lazzaro with 350 votes = 74.15%

    Information on Patrol Officers Trustee:
    2,485 Total Votes
Police Officers Representative: Steve Robbins with 1175 votes = 47.28%

    Information on Retiree/Annuitants Trustee:
    5,698 Total Votes
    Retiree/Annuitant Representative: Kenneth Hauser with 3931 votes = 68.99%
Just a few observations here. 472 votes TOTAL for Sergeant Trustee? There are, what, 1,200 Sergeants on this job and 40% voted? That's pathetic. And ONLY 2,485 TOTAL VOTES FOR PO TRUSTEE?!?!?!??? And he didn't even win 50% of the votes cast? Pardon our incredulity, but what the fuck? That's a 22% turn out rate, which is beyond pathetic. It's downright embarrassing. How hard is it to fill out a scantron sheet and send it back in a paid envelope? Let's put it another way - 20% of the membership is deciding where the other 80% go. That's insane. Look at the retiree numbers. There are only about 6,000 retirees and almost 5,700 voted? Sheesh.

2488 patrolman voted. Over 11,600 ballots sent out. When Iraq has a higher turnout rate for voters with people geting killed, we have serious issues here. Democracy is ours! Our right to choose, whether good or bad! Exercise your right. Our forefathers died for it 200 + years ago. I commend everyone who voted, no matter who they voted for! 5709 retiree's voted! no wonder the FOP wants to get them off the rolls!

John, you lying bastard. No one at FOP wants to get the retirees off the rolls. You and your little buddies on the board just want to set up some bullshit campaign issue for the next election. You will lie to the retirees like you lied to the PO's in this election. Hell, just from reading your posts on my computer my office has started to fill with bullshit. I have to put on hipwaders to read your stuff.

Part of why so few voted is all the shit you were throwing around, and all the lies, half-truths, and innuendo you spewed. You soured too many people to the process because of your campaign tactic of trying to suppress the vote so only your supporters would be voting. Even on this website, people were so infuriated with your misinformation campaign that they posted that they were going to vote for the guy who no one knew or for no on e at all.

And trying to link yourself with the the revolutionary war heroes and people risking their lives to vote for their government in Iraq is just an absolute crock of shit. How dare you try to connect yourself to them. You don't remotely compare.

Also, take off your goddamn sunglasses when your talking to us. You look like a faggot.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Oh, sure, the Citywide Team never put out lies and half-truths. In the election against Podgorny and his ticket, that is all the Citywide Team knew was to put out lies and half-truths. And with this last election, they attempted to disqualify Podgorny from running and then threw two people out of the union, who ran against them. Currently the Citywide Team is trying to substantially reduce the numbers or retirees, so they don't have to worry about their vote. After all, why should the FOP be held accountable to a bunch of old dinosaur retirees, especially, since we will all be there some day.

It is really sad that an active police officer cares nothing about the future of his union and, more importantly, his pension. Maybe after Daley begins to whittle away even more at the pension, with Donahue's tacit approval, the officers on this job will see the light. Donahue & the Citywide Team should have not been re-elected since he gave away 23 million dollars of our pension money, that is not a lie and it is not a half truth. And we still don't have an 80% pension.

Oh, and, finally, anonymous at 10:33:36, you had some degree of credibility until the end with your faggot statement. At that point you became just another ignorant moran who happens to pin a star on your chest!

Once upon a time many years ago I ran for the PO pension trustee.
Then in the next election I ran again.
I almost ran this time as well, going through the trouble of getting the petitons signed before having a change of heart, and electing to retire in January 2006 or thereabouts instead.

When I ran, about half of the eligilbe voters voted, [roughly 5500 or so].
I thought it was disgusting then.

The fact t hat only 22% percent bothered to fill out the card and mail it in the free envelope, speaks volumes about why we are in the dire straits we are now in.

The reason why retirees vote is because they realize how important the pension is and what can happen to the fund if the politicians got their hands on it.

There were rumors years ago that a certain "community leader" wanted to use our money to provide low cost mortgages for low cost housing for poor people.
I wonder what the default rate would be on those loans???

I wont say his name but he has a son who is a US Congressman on the south side and another son may have a Budweiser distributorship just off the JFK X-Way

The current Mayor's father used our money to provide no or low interest loans to pay for the Skyway in the 1950's

The state of Illinois isnt making their payments to the state worker's pension for 2 years to balance the budget.

Think Daley wouldnt love to do the same???

We need to wake up biys and girls.
They take 9% of your check to fund this and it will be a big part of most of our golden years' quality of life.

And although I agree that Tierny isnt a Revolutionary War hero, he does have a point.
We ned to have our craniums removed from our rectums like yesterday.
Be safe out there.
Give me a play on the UUW after I retire if you stop me

so much for the endorsement of the leadership of FOP. Almost $5.00 a vote was pledged then suddenly "recinded". The vote count is a joke but the actions of the board exposes the intent of these hacks.

Is it no wonder that the city is constantly acting without any imput from the FOP!

Look at there endorsements. The gang of seven that run this "union" could not muster 200 votes each for "their" suckass.

That does not even count the other "followers" on that board!

10:33:36 statement "no one at FOP wants to get retirees off the rolls" is the statement of an idiot and that of a mindless suck ass! Your time will come jerk! Have you ever had an original idea in your entire life.

Your probably on wone of Donahue's slush fund committees getting your well deserved "pieces of gold" the dues of the membership.

Yes, "he" can be seen in a photo with a certain former president and that woman while she was pregnant. "He" was counseling the former president about his adulterous habit at the time.

I did not equate myself with any heroe's read the post. It is a statement.

I shook Officer Robbins hand, gave him a heartfelt CONGRATS! It's over! He spoke about helping the membership and doing some things up there, I wish him the best!

-You lied about Robbins going to the pension board meetings on company time.
-You lied about wanting to do an honest campaign when you started ripping Robbins because of who he knew
-You lied when you questioned his integrity by saying he was an FOP yes man, and damn, pretty much everything you put on your website and on here....

Damn, now I've got to bring the cleaning crew again since I've been reading your stuff. Damnit!!

Oh hell, why don't I just cut and paste your whole damn website into this post to lay out all your lies?

But then, there'd be no more room for everyone elses posts and others have already been called out on the carpet for not just simply posting a link.

O.K. Everyone, just go to the SCC home page and click on the Tierney link and you can see all his lies for yourself.

* you think the 10 yr on guys care about the rookies? No.

24 years and one day from now, there WILL BE NO PENSION. I will be some old wrinkley Wal*Mart greeter, because my Defered Comp that I so dilligently max'ed out took a shit all over me one year prior.

Hope you old timers like retirement, leave us a "time capusle" about how great it was, jerk! ;-)

Robbins is a Class Act. He was the best candidate.

He ran a clean campaign.

Tierney is a Turd.

He will forever be known as the copper who ran a completely negative campaign.

The copper who let Wayne and Sean be his puppet masters. That alone shows what a nut-job Tierney is.

The copper who is a hypocrite because his campaign manager Sean Hallihoot voted to forgive the $23 Mil when he was a FOP trustee, but Tierney never bothered share that info.

Lies, on top of lies,on top of lies, they never stopped.

Tierney, the copper that will always be known as a sore LLLLLLLLoser!

Rumor has it you’re talking about being a Sgt. now. Go try and fix up that mess of a union, they need somebody like you.

I mailed my vote back for the sgt's spot, but there is something I'd really like them to change in the future. There has to be a better way to do it then to force me to put my name, address, and signature on the outside of an envelope that who knows how many people are going to have access to between the mailbox and the intended recipient! In this day of identitiy theft, I felt very uncomfortable providing my signature on the outside of that envelope. Just a thought...

I agree. An old-timer told me, years ago when they voted on what union should represent us the voting was done in the districts and that’s how it should be done.

I thought, “WOW”! That would cost a fortune now. But that old-timer is pretty wise. He explained; subtract the cost of the mailing, the printing, and the envelopes.

Think about it, just the mailing for 20,000 envelops is $7400.00. The retiree’s and disabled officers of course would have to have the ballots mailed, and of course absentee ballots for those who are not working that day.

I saw Tierney at the pension board talking to Robbins and shake his hand in the hallway. Didn't look like a sore loser. If goofs Jans and Kozola hadn't run Tierney would have won. As for the remarks, Robbins did accept the FOP endorsement and initially accepted the $5000.00, until it became a HOT BUTTON ISSUE, and he withdrew his acceptance of the money. Tierney never said "Robbins went to Pension Board mt on comp time", he said "He did NOT"!
As for the Sgt thing, I'm sure you won't see him made meritorious so if he gets it, it's on a score. Who wants to be a patrolman for ever anyway? The FOP Board does, they make Captains pay or above right?

SPEAKING OF SORE LOSERS LOOK AT THE FOP SORE WINNERS! FOP wins the election and then expels 2 members that ran against them. This ensures there is even less competition for the next election. Allegations of lieing to the media? Look at the media articles, there are NO LIES!

IT'S F....IN OVER ALREADY!

If you think F.O.P. is bad you should have been on this job prior to the union, most of you would never have survived.
1. Could not carry more than 56 hours on the books. Any additional hours were not counted

2. All accumilated comp time was erased after furlough, use it or lose it. Try getting time in 011 in July.

3. No bid, when you went to a district you retired from that district, unless you were heavy, or got promoted.

4. Arrest someone on Friday night, you had to show up for holiday court on Saturday morning. Saturday night, Sunday morning, Sunday night Tuesday morning.

5. No overtime on election day. You worked 12 hours minimum, you only got paid for 8, no comp time either.

6. Every 28 days you rotated your shift. Nothing extra for doubling back, for instance you worked days on Thursday, when the shift changed you had to come in at midnight for Friday. That is just a few thing that stick out in my mind prior to F.o.P.

Based on the above stated facts, I think that you people, (or Folks for the gangbangers on the job,) are the biggest cry baby bitch boys, and girls around, you should try working for a living. You wonder why bosses don't respect you. I'll give you a hint, you don't deserve it.

the fact that a union any union betters the workplace should be a given or the gravel train for union officers is over. it is also in the officers of the union best interest to do something for the members dues. But the position that you close your eyes and have NO oversight of what they do produces dictatorships like Nolan and Donahue. Someday you'll wake up and be working a schedule with weekends every 16 weeks like the schedule Donahue's group tried to put over on the members by saying a friday and monday were part of a weekend. How long does a "pilot" program last in order to allow the city not to institute the 10hr day for everyone. either it has worked by now or not. the "pilot" program is a way to make the membership think your union is doing something when in actuality they just are allowing the city to do what it wants. Wake up for evil to triumph, good men must do NOTHING.

no shift by seniority

*Ya, now you need juice or good lips to get a good shift before your time!

no day off change by seniority

* Ya good luck asking your Captain you want to change your day off to match with holidays every year! So does he!

no grievance procedure
no legal representation

* We need that now after all you old timers beat everyone for anything.

no personal days

* They can still knock you off that even now.

no bfds
no working day furlo

* Yipee! Have to wait 10 years for that.

no money for OT
no duty availibilty pay
no straight shifts

* I'd rather roltate. But then all the cry baby's will have to do a shift of midnights!! NOOOO!

Although the FOP needs improvement things are MUCH better with them than without

* But the point is that they are getting steadily worse. I wonder how much healthcare gonna cost us next contract. I remember when my Dad's health cost him $7 a month. He was neither CPD or CFD, ALL city workers got good deals. Not no more.

Little or no time POs are crying because even after being on days by management they cant get an early car
