Weekend Quick Hits

For your reading pleasure
  • City to Residents - "Fuck you." That pretty much explains the "50/50 Program." No refunds will be forthcoming. We only have one question: Why did Warmbir, Novak and Golab allow Fran "what truck?" Spielman to piggyback on their story?
  • Man sedates pigeons with vodka before operating on them. You can make your own punchlines for this one.
  • First, the Italians are associated with the mafia. Then they can't celebrate Columbus Day because it's not politically correct. Now, Italian cuisine is kicked to the curb when someone discovers a 4,000 year old dish of noodles in China. What next?
  • Speaking of the mafia, this is exactly the reason we prefer Chicago hits as opposed to New York killings. When you found a Chicago mob victim, everyone got the message that so-and-so was killed for such-and-such a reason. Who gets the message when there isn't a body to see?
Sox are up 5-0 and Blackhawks are tied 1-1. Let's go Chicago!

UPDATE: Sox win 5-2
UPDATE: Blackhawks go to OT tied at 2
UPDATE: Blackhawks win in a shootout! Hooray!

you want to talk about the mayor? how much do you think its going to cost the tax payer to remove that assholes name from every vehicle, safety vest, city building, airport sign,etc... when he doesnt get re-elected, thats if he doesnt get indicted first.

What's this I read about Tim O'Grady (023) supporting Mummia Jumbalia (or whatever his fucking name is) out in Philly. Bantering about politics is one thing, but supporting a cold blooded cop killer is something else. Go to

www.danielfaulkner.com

if you don't know what I'm talking about. What happened to your job delivering the "Blue Star" fuckface? That was some real police work.

My condo association paid over $2000 for new sidewalks this spring. After reading the papers, I wonder how much they really cost.

We also had new curbs put in by some firm that was hired out to do the job. They did a shitty job, too. Some of the curbs are so low that they practically blend in with the parkway.

We get screwed from both ends. Gotta love this mayor.....jerk.

I know it's hard too believe but yes, O'Grady honestly believes that Mummia was wrongfully convicted and a victim of institutionalized rascism. He was bantering about it not too long ago after he got side tracked going on about George Bush and Haliburton and Cheny and the RNC and the whole conspiracy and how Mummia is a victim of this.
Just aks him.

Someday, after you’ve retired and you’re on a break from your job as a greeter at Wal-Mart, so you can pay for both your food and medicine this month and keep the house warm enough this winter so your pipes don’t freeze and burst like last winter. You’ll be telling the pimply faced kid sitting across from you at the break table what a great policeman you were and all the great arrests you made and all the disturbing things you saw and did while “on the job”, and as he stares at you with that vacant look in his eyes and you know all he is thinking about is getting paid so he can take Mary Lou out this week end in daddy’s aerocar and get into her panties, it will hit you like a ton of bricks, if only I could go back in time and change things. If only I could go back and do something to make my retirement better, if only…

Well brother that day is today and the thing to start it off is the ballot in your hand. This is the one you need to send in. Why, because you can change your future for the better. Work a little bit harder for yourself. I’ll ask you to help out but I’ll do the heavy lifting. I will cost you something in both time and money because nothing that is good is free, but it will be worth it. If you want that, then you have to start by voting for me, Kevin C. Jans and send that ballot in. Let your voice be heard down in City Hall, “I’m no longer satisfied with they way you have ignored my needs and I’m willing to do what is necessary to change things, including voting those out of office that stand against my interests and voting for those who will help me!” Let the mayor and city council hear you, but understand that I will be asking you to work. Work for yourself and your fellow officers. If you vote for me, it’s only the beginning of a long road to a better tomorrow. I have full faith in you, my fellow officers, that by working together we can make a difference and must. I have met many of you at the roll calls I have been to and I have been impressed by your willingness to do what it takes to protect and serve the citizens of this great city. You have also done so much to help your fellow officers in need, now it’s time to look at the future and start working for yourself too.

Kevin C Jans-

I don't like the way you wrote that. I don't mean your abuse of the English language or your poor grammar, but the hint of sarcasam in your opening parargraph. Do you really expect me to vote for someone who, while he pretends to be one of us, posts such nonsense? What makes you think I or any other of my brothers would work at Wal-Mart when we retire? Or that we would sit at a "break table" and tell war stories? Do you think I'm not smart enough to have prepared financially for my retirement so I won't have to work as a "greeter" at Wal-Mart so my pipes don't freeze or so that I can pay for my meds? I guess you do. I detect just a little too much arrogance in your tone of voice sir, which leads me to believe that you would not be the person I would want representing me or handling my money. FYI, I am not another candidate running against you, just a Police Officer that resents being talked down to by you.
Have a nice day.

Since O'Grady has never arrested a real bad guy, nor attended a real trial, he probably has never read transcripts and has no idea what evidence is good or bad. He just read on some radical site that poor Mumia got railroaded and so he believes it. It probably makes him popular with the "no deodorant" and "unshaven legs" girls at the Heartland Cafe.

I do not purchase any of his products (and I know he also donates to good charities), but I will not risk one cent going to Mummia. He is also supported by a lot of the Bush bashing celebrities. I have never seen a Jane Fonda movie either and never will.

My favorite salad dressing was Newman's 2000 Island brand, until I read he gave money to Mumia's defense fund. I'm glad to hear that you've planned for your future. In my plan the city pension is the base. I know that when I retire I will have get a medical plan for myself and family because the city won't pay a dime after 2013. Unless we get one for ourselves.

While you are at work find someone with over 30 years and ask him or her why they are still working. Specificaly ask what they would have done 20 years ago, now that they can look back to where the majority of officers are today.

The Wal-Mart greeter job was just an example of a retirement job, feel free to substitute any job for that one.

Please support me with your vote.

I don't care who it is, if you are drunk and driving you deserve whatever punishment the law is willing to mete out.

Next time I see a fundraiser for a DUId PO, I'm sending money to MADD and a big "bite me" letter to whichever clown(s) are sponsoring the fundraiser.

Raising money for Mumia, raising money for a PO/IA Sgt. Each solely because they need funds to defend themselves from accusations of criminal activity. Not saying the PO deserves death the way Mumia does, but neither gets one red cent of my money, one tear from my eyes or one bit of sympathy from my heart.

There oughta be a mandatory minimum jail sentence for this nonsense, even on first offense.

Sheer Brilliance. Bet you'd feel differently if that drunk ASA killed YOUR mother. That's the problem with too many coppers today: Everyone thinks they are above the Law. Like you deserve special treatment after spending four hours or more in a bar after work and then getting behind the wheel of a multi thousand pound hunk of steel, while you drive twice the speed limit and blow red lights and stop signs without fear of a ticket! Then, when you finally screw up and hit someone or something, the whole city hears about the "jagoff" in whatever district/suburb you were in who wrote another copper the DUI. And everyone is supposed to feel sorry for the REAL jagoff, the guy who thought he could do what ever he wanted because of the star in his wallet. Besides that, it's not like an ASA is going to be found guilty in Crook County!

oh yeah all dui stops are legit - before you start talking about 1st time offenders look at the jags from traffic who patrol LSD or those hard working dedicated 18th dist coppers. They do DUI's till they drop, but - ask them about any real arrest. Yes DUI is a serious matter and it costs lives. Take a cab, call the station get a ride whatever. But these little traffic fucks who do borderline DUI's arent doing anyone a favor, I have seen more folks get DUI'ed because of thier attitude then actually being impaired. So before you go talking about what cops do or dont deserve try doing some real work because im sure the hero 5year(if that much) cop that you are knows nothing about the brotherhood that is being the police. I hope the individual who posted the no breaks post has a beer goes out, and attracts the attention of and agrressive DUI guy, I hope you and those crusaders like you, get what you got coming. I have 10 years on now and this department has gone down hill with you "traffic enforcement specialist" cause you sure aren't the police. To those retired and Old timers thank you for what you have taught me - too bad you didnt your leave some knowledge for the new breed. I forget they know it all.

Yeah, its the traffic enforcement guys fault for breaking up the brotherhood. I take it you were drunk when you wrote this, or else you are far too stupid sober to ever do anyone any good.

People in our brotherhood have been KILLED ON DUTY by DUIs. People in our brotherhood have killed people off duty while DUI.

Don't hide behind me and the rest of your "brotherhood". You are not me. You do not represent me and the thousands on this job who manage to avoid DUI driving.

And every time you drive drunk, YOU are pissing on your brotherhood, your badge, your oath, your honor and the law.

If you can't obey the law, you shouldn't have taken your oath.

You are a disgrace.

I repeat if you drink take a cab or call for a ride. But you certainly cant be one of us, get off your high horse.Apparently you have some issues with this job, Im sure with the intelligence you posses you can be making your life so much easier by not being around those who think they are better than the rest of society. Wow, I have issues with this job? What part of "law enforcement" did you not understand when somebody made a phone call to get you on? Got that? Not "criminal", but "law enforcement". You want to be a criminal or coddle criminals, go join a crew on the streets of 007 or 011. Don't wear my uniform.

And as for brotherhood, if every gangbanger, wifebeater and drunk in this department doesn't ever back me up, I'm probably more likely to come out ahead. Toodofuckinloo.

I'll still back ya up when you are on-duty, and bring ya in when off. Simple as that. Those you are defending belong in Joliet, and you belong in an asylum.

I love math word problems.

Lets see you have about 30 years on the job and are not yet 50 years old so

49-30=19

You were around 19 when you came on the job.
You took the writen portion of the enterance test at about age 17, right because it took some time to processe and get your test results back to you, do a back ground check, take the psyh, physical, and what was test they gave us where a group of candidates sat around and were scored. Did you do all of this after your second tour of Nam?

And what cushy job have you been doing since???

Go back and try it again, but check your math first!

Maybe he ment he feels too young to be retired or he's waiting until 60 for the medical. Why does his job have to be cushy because he's got 30 years. Maybe he's a foot guy or working a 2nd watch BT car in a decent neighborhood. Maybe that doesn't measure up to your real police standards, but we'll see where you are with 30 years. Why don't you say something besides ripping on other coppers. Shitheads like you are the reason the city will always keep us down.

First of all, that is not true. You are ignorant. Second, if a cop commits a crime that is prosecuteable, why shouldn't he be? What are you afraid of? Do the right thing and you have no worries. Don't worry sweetcheeks, I am the police, I'm guessing by your incredibly immature response, for a lot longer than you have been too. Just a little tired of the "I'm the REAL police and can do whatever I want because of it" attitude that I have been seeing more and more of. Enjoy your macho bullshit attitude. I'm sure it will serve you well when you take 30 days or more for acting out your homoerotic fantasies on a handcuffed prisoner. Sounds like you are a little bit tense. Maybe some therapy, or Zoloft, perhaps? And for the record, calling me a Liberal is the only thing you said hurtful: I'm a diehard conservative, Marine, and CPD who is just tired of being labled as a racist, brutal meathead because of little shits like you. A little bit tired of having our union funds and tax dollars used to defend knuckleheads like you that seem to think that you are entitled to immunity just because you have a star. Wake up. Realize that you do more harm than good with your attitude. Enjoy that stress heart attack you're heading for. As for me? I'll be heading into retirement, being able to hold my head high, and knowing I never have to look over my shoulder worrying whether or not IAD,OPS, FBI or some gangbanger that I beat for some sadistic pleasure or maybe put a rock on is coming for me.
