The biggest shifts in history are the ones that everyone misses. Looking back, everyone says, "Gee, we should have noticed something that huge," but at the time, no one did say that or notice anything unusual.
Yesterday was probably one of those days, and almost everyone missed it. The far left wing of the democratic party threw a huge hissy fit over Judge Sam Alito being given an up or down vote in the Senate and attempted a filibuster. Almost HALF of the democrats in the Senate broke with their party and sided with the republicans, saying that Alito deserved and up or down vote. The count was 72-25.
What does it mean? Well, for starters, most of the big names in the democratic party threw their votes in with the lunatic fringe - Kerry, Clinton, Reid, Kennedy, Durbin, and Obama (if we aren't mistaken) sold their collective souls to the far left wing. At least 3 of the above listed senators have presidential ambitions. We might be seeing the beginnings of a HUGE fracture in the democratic party that will doom them to minority status for the next generation or more.

You don't need cops on beat 1631 since there isn't any REAL crime. If you locked your garage and car doors you would be fine. Most of the problems on 1631 are caused by off-duty drunk cops. Go to the park on a weekend, you will see the off-duty coppers drinking beer in the park during little league games. But as usual the trouble is with the cops.

How about some of those red light cameras at Harlem/Addison. LOts of red light runners, good money maker for the city since the cops can't seem to catch traffic offenders in 016.
Cameras on every street corner and in every store. All monitored by Mayor Daley/President Bush.

Sun_Times says that 13,400 Officers had errors on their checks. Do we really have 13,400 checks going out I heard that it was more like 9,000 and the City is trying to keep that a secret. Does anybody know?.....

How bout an informative post? Like when we're getting our w-2's? Or how many checks are screwed up? This site is filled with fellow cop bashing and bad information. For those of you who keep complaining about 1631 go work it if you're so unhappy with the service. Those of us on 2211 never see a police car unless it's in front of their house. We rely on our neighbors I suggest you start doing the same. Are you foolish enough to think they're working 1631 because they want to do anything? Lastly, I've received 3 letters home from my kids about some scumbag attempting to pick up young kids after school. Where's the tac teams and RR cars flooding the areas during after school hours? I mean this area must be a duplicate of 1631 with notihng but police, fire and streets and san employees. Nowhere to be found they must be chasing that 1 bagger over at 89th and Lowe.
