A bunch of people got taken in (ourselves being among the worried ones) by the rumors abounding yesterday of the Sergeant's test being cancelled or postponed. Turns out it was BS and the only fax that came out yesterday was about military personnel being eligible.

And yes, we saw the ReadingList guy posting his e-mail in all the comments sections. Ususally, we'd delete the duplicate entries, but we want to be promoted as much as the next guy does so we left them there. We got one of his disks in the District last time and it's actually a good compilation of the stuff.

- a 270 pound black female albino who can not tolerate sunlight

Preliminary vote results indicate that Iyad Allawi, the pro-American Prime Minister, received about 8 percent of the vote and Ahmad Chalabi, Iraq's current Oil Minister and close associate of the U.S. Iraq war planners, received less than 1 percent. According to General Vines, the top operational commander in Iraq, "the vote is reported to be primarily along sectarian lines, which is not particularly heartening." The new government he said "must be a government by and for Iraqis, not sects."
The ethnic and religious strife in Iraq has been going on, not for decades or centuries, but for millennia. These particular explosive hatreds and tensions will be there if our troops leave in six months, six years or six decades. Housing will be under 018 in the form of a 60 man unit. The left over officers will be displaced between 012,013, and 019. The days of 4 hour days are going to be gone but we beat the city for the past 7 years and gave it a great run. I cant thank the city enough for having this unit and giving me all this freedom but sadly all good things must come to an end. Viva 765!!!!!!
Already getting screwed again by the city with this test. If the order says $25.00 it should be $25.00. Why after it is all said and done am I charged $26.00? What is the buck for? Who gets it? John Murtha's combat awards DO NOT give his statements any credence. I am tired of reading his resume every time he opens his mouth. Morale is the most cohesive element of a fighting force. When politicians use service personnel as election fodder they commit a grievous sin. Soldiers, Marines, etc., feel even more alienated from society than we do as the police. When the people who sent you to fight help to erode your support, morale and esprit de corps go south. Having a cloud over your actions does hurt and does cost lives. Murtha seems to have forgotten where he came from and what he went through. As far as I'm concerned he's guilty of sedition. I'm sure you're happy with him because he's jumped on the Nancy Pelosi bandwagon, but he has sold his credibility. For the record I spent more time on active duty than him, saw more combat than him, and have more combat awards than him. If you are so infatuated with resumes then my position should have more credence.

I'm glad to see that one of the 12 actual 018th district workers had time to write in. You could have bid into housing 5 years ago if you weren't a'scared of going above the first floor. I'm sure the people that get over to 018 will be treated like one of your own, ha.

I was a Marine in Viet Nam the same time as Murtha,"My GOD" does'nt this dumb SOB remember all the shit we went thru when we were over there and when we got home? All the protesting that we were baby killers etc,etc, talk about low morale.When I got home and got out I closed the door and locked it, to that part of my life.But I was and still am, proud of my military service and being in the CORPS.Why in the "NAME OF GOD" is this fucking idiot doing what he's doing to "OUR" troops now? Where answers were right or wrong, not the "best answer", which could change. When you had to have some street smarts from generating arrests and keeping the peace.
