Folkes admitted to providing a police informant with $8,300 in phony money in exchange for $1,900 in genuine currency.

Police officer seriously hurt in N. Side accident
March 20, 2006
A 24-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department was seriously injured Monday morning in a traffic accident on the North Side, according to a release from police News Affairs.
The male officer, 51, from the Albany Park District, was responding to a call for service in a marked squad car when his vehicle was struck by a Toyota 4-Runner at about 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Pulaski Road and Peterson Avenue, the release said. He was taken by ambulance to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.
According to police, the officer’s car was northbound on Pulaski and the driver of the SUV was westbound on Peterson. All traffic had stopped at the intersection yielding to the squad car’s emergency equipment, but the driver of the Toyota circumvented the stopped vehicles and struck the squad in the intersection, the release said.
The driver of the Toyota, Simon Marma, 39, of the 5700 block of North Maplewood Avenue, refused medical attention, police said.
Marma was issued several traffic citations, including failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to keep in lane. He was also issued a municipal ordinance violation for damage to city property, police said. He will appear in traffic court at 1:30 p.m. May 10 in the Daley Center.
The city can have a unit to chase a taxi/livery, but can not get citizens to pull over for emergency vehicles? Unreal.

NO bosses will back you up. 20 yrs ago bosses told me if I was right in making a police decision THEY would back me up 100%. Mike I with 24 yrs on, 51 years old, broke his leg,has part of his spinal cord broke, broken arm, and at first they thought he had major internal head injuries due to excessive bleeding within the head, but bleeding caused from deep laceration . Supposedly will be ok. Fucked up but ok..

All I can recall, coppers were allegedly set up to deliver the dist. money share/payouts to CW for her CO, in a hotel room.
Rumor had it, CW was caught up and used. I did say rumor about how she had gotten involved. She was then promoted and was sent to work at IAD visably. Whether she herself was dirty is questionable, natch by the cops caught up and those simply wanting to know.
