Anyone else think Stroger should just quit? It seem obvious to all but the most brain damaged that he won't be up to the job any more. Yes, we know, if the Machine can pull off a win, then they get to appoint a successor instead of actually having to win an election. Claypool is playing it straight by not attacking a hospitalized opponent, but you think he (or his people) would be out spreading the word that Stroger is physically unfit for office.
We would have loved to see those Federal indictments unsealed a few days ago. Too bad the Feds couldn't pull the trigger on them.

Stroger never was going to run for reelection in the first place. The plan from the beginning was to have Stroger win the primary and then for him to step down for health reasons so the party could hand pick the next county board president. I think Mike Sheehan is the favorite with Houlihan the second choice for the position. It is far too important of a job for the machine to risk in an election and Stroger was the best chance to get through the primary as he starts with a 35% lead. In a world of dirty politics it's really great move by Mr. Joyce and the 19th warders. Best wishes to Mr. Stroger.

Stroger's physician is paid just over $391,000 a year by the Cook County Board as the Cook County Board Physician. And the same physician also has several other employments as a doctor. So consider him a part-time employee.

As for stepping down. No way he will. As the Cook County Board President he has soooooooooo many entitlements. From a personal driver, security, expense accounts and so on. Also he can't step down and let anybody new see the books that he has stole so much from.

Ever see plan 9 from outer space? The worst horror film ever made. Bella Lugosi died before the film was finished and they had to get a guy his size to fill in for the final scenes (all the guy had to do was not show his face). That will be Strogers lagacy.
Recovering from a stroke while in your seventies can be most dibilitating. I know. My father (retired sheriff) went through it when he was 72. After 8 weeks in the hospital and a 6 weeks in rehab, he was a little better but still could not walk or be able to speak without slurring his words. But he still lived six more years. RIP dad.
Back to Stroger. Lets go back to the day after his stroke. His PR people said he was fine and that he wanted to leave the hospital the next day, it was nothing to worry about. What a crock of shi-! Then it was, he will need to stay in for a couple of days for evaluation. Then they finally said he had a mild stroke but was doing fine and would be up and about soon. Who's writing this stuff Stroger? They obviously don't know anything about his recovery.
Now we are told that his doctors believe that it was more serious than they thought! Are they real doctors or med students? You know when someone has had a serious stroke, and they don't just jump up and go home in a few days. Why don't they just tell the truth?
We know why, because he won't be back for a very long time if ever! And the Dems want to hold onto that spot and give it to whomever that little green man decides is best for himself.
Daley does'nt want to mess with the black vote or have all those people in patronage jobs worry about who to send the money to or where to buy those tickets from, he alone will decide who does what!
Mr. Stroger, I hope you recover as you puppet doctors say you will, but your power days are gone. Maybe Daley will buy you a Rascal to ride around in and your bodyguard detail can surround you on their Rascals, we all know who's behind the curtain calling the shots.

I hear your complaint's, and they are valid. However Don't blame the elite tact units for this. You see, the tact units are visualy anonymous because they wear civilian clothing. There fore, you do see them, but you don't recognize them as police. If you need some help in recognizing this I will help point it out to you.
A tacticle officer can be recognized it svereal way's;
Fisrt, both the male and female type will usually wear a baseball hat. The female will wear it strait forwards, the male will wear it backward's just like in highschool.
The male tacticus will have either a wadd of chew in his mouth, or a cigar. The female tactici will wear make up.
Next most male tacticus wear a carhardt type jacket, or an army coat, the femanine officer is a grade higher and will wear a northface or columbia style jacket.
Now on the leg levle it depends on where you work; South and west side tacticus wear jeans. North side one's wear cargo style pant's like the ones you find at old navy.
So they are there, working hard, you just need to look a little deeper. If that doesn't help just look for the guy or gal in civilian dress wearing the black vest cover. That should do it.

What Stroger has done to this county over the past decade, with all the nepotism, cronyism and out and out thievery is a shame and disgrace. But the fact that he's lying in a hospital bed is tragic.
Someone's failing health is not something to joke about, no matter how evil, corrupt, ignorant, etc you may think they are.
Like Stroger, my father was a diabetic and workaholic, who had bad eating habits and was too stubborn to follow doctor's orders and as a result, suffered a stroke almost 7 years ago.
I can tell you it's nothing to laugh at. He too, thought he could go back to work, figuring he'd only be in the hospital for a couple of weeks.
Even after months of PT, he still suffered from the right sided paralysis that is all to common with stroke victims. Luckily, he wasn't affected mentally.
Over the years, I could see his health was getting worse since he refused to change his bad habits.
Tragically, he died in a fire this past fall, mostly due to the fact that his handicap prevented him from getting out of his house.
So please, if you have to rag on the man, stick to his politics and leave his health problems out of it.

But our vast experience, possibly just a little more than the arresting officers on the beat car (I spent eight years on one!) with Irish patronage employees, ie. states attorneys, might cause the detective to be less optimistic about felony approval for incidents falling into the vast gray area. Also, we are down about six hundred detectives since the eighties-yeah, we might be short that night but we're still coming out. I met a few deicks that pissed me off as well. But we're on the same team, and I know who takes all the risk on this job. Stay safe.
i work on the gang team..i went there because i was to busy doing bull shit domestics,and traffic accidents while on the beat car,i wanted a chance to stop the shit head in my neighborhood before he committed that robbery or before he committed that burglary,i also love following that shit head and catching him doing his evil..i could not do this in a beat car because i kept getting that radio assignment..so i put on my jeans,ball cap, vest,gun.and i turn into the ass hole cop that is fucking with you for no reason police. thanks for hearing me out..the real police.
Real Police regardless of where your working out of, specialized units, tact, Hell I don't care inside; just keep passing the baton. Please before the department feels assured they have eradicated you all out the door.
