Mush! Mush We Say!

Yes, it's that time of season again. The Iditarod Dogsled Race begins it's 34th annual run and for the third straight year, they have to truck 1,340 dogs and 83 mushers about 25 miles north to find enough snow to run this thing.

Now, we've always been of the opinion that NASCAR and car racing in general is kind of boring and pointless - loud cars running around in circles hundreds of times, burning thousands of gallons fuel and wrecking perfectly good machines. But trucking 1,300+ dogs and sleds and riders to find snow? THAT makes NASCAR look almost sane.

And who keeps sending us these pictures?

I don't care what Crimefile and the rest of the average hard up coppers say. All I see are eight dogs.

JISC is the new youth division on Pershing road. No more taking them to the area.

JISC is a new "do nothing" processing center for lazy youth dicks to sit on they ass all day and wait for processing jobs. Then when you try to turn over an arrestee they will deny it because the youth has a tummy ache and has to go to the hospital.

the department is doing away with the peer support unit, they will have the own (in house) unit now, they are taking apps right now, so whenever you talk to them all that you say will be reported to Phil and the gang and good bye job...

seiser will run the unit and their motto will be...

"there's nothing wrong with you, now rub some dirt on it and get back out there!"

or is it...

"there's nothing wrong with you that a nice 30 pending won't cure!"

WOW! Since the place just opened friday night I am amazed that you are already Bitching about the place. Im sure you used to bitch when you had to wait for a Youth Officer to process the 10 - 8 year olds you locked up for gang loitering. Now your going to bitch that you have to take them to the processing center. Im sorry your life sucks so much that you are only happy when you are complaining. How about you wait a month or 2 to see how it works so you can form an opinion based on facts and not your speculation.

Speaking of long journeys, I came in from a workout last night and flipped on the tv. Caught a movie on WGN, called "The Straight Story."

A flick about a WWII vet (Alvin Straight) in his 70's, and estranged from his brother when they used to be very close. Only 10 years go by and his brother has a very bad stroke.

Since his eyesight is poor and he lost his license, and both his hips need to be replaced, he decised to go and make good with his brother.

He actually uses his old 65' John Deere lawnmower with some setup hooked to the back.

He drives down the side of farm roads through Iowa farms stopping before it gets dark to camp out. Meets some people along the way where he changes their life in some way.

I think it took him over 6 weeks to finally get to his brothers home.

Pretty cool story....

I agree with the last post. It is almost impossible to imagine things being any worse then it had been when dealing with the youth officers. If this place is worse it will have exceeded my worst nightmares. Not to bash on youth officers. They're people too. And just like most cops they're usually trying their damndest to get out of work.
Sorry for getting off track, but how much longer can we keep busting on Hitney. It just isn't fair. We have Guerro and probably a couple dozen like him at call back.

Hey 3/05/2006 03:12:38, I was in the academy with her. I saw that on the transfer order. What'd she do?

If you looked at the transfer order, you'll notice that only one Det. bid to go to the JISC. None of the rest wanted to go.

According to one of the draftees, the union has a blanket grievence ready and they've been advised to file individually. It ain't gonna be pretty.

None of the social agencies are there yet. Won't be until May. So, what was the rush opening this place?

Very little parking for the P.O.'s and Det's. Only 3 unmarked and 2 marked squads, so they're all prisoners.

P.O.'s are lockup keepers and door guards, as are some of the Dets.

This is gonna work if it kills ya!

This harrassing of Hitney has to stop! There are hundreds, no thousands of bosses out there to make fun of. Just get Guererros photo of the computer (mugshot) and use your imagination. Then we have Peska's kid. So many to chose from. There was a time I thought you had to be a sexual deviant to get promoted on this job. What about Frank Triggs photo, I'm sure it's available somewhere. Shit someone just take a picture of him. Lenti, Cynthia White. It goes on and on. Poor Hitney. Poor, poor Hitney. It just isn't fair.

Send SCC some pictures. They have e-mail. Give them some suggestions. What do you want? Guerrero standing outside some broads house? Oh wait, that's true. How about Lenti at a LAPA meeting not understanding a word of Spanish. Oh wait, he does that. How about Cynthia hiding in her suburban house from everyone she put away who's getting out of prison now. Oh wait, that's happening as we speak. Maybe Trigg eating out--- nevermind, this isn't that type of site. Don't know Peska, but it still can't be as funny as our very own sleddog driver.

Curious if anyone has any info and/or thoughts about the 104th person added to the Sgt's class just last week. Guess he was fired while in Sgt class a couple of years ago, and sued to get his job back - and won. I don't know the story - he may actually deserve to be in the class. Anyone?

#104 picked up a serious beef about the time he was legitimately promoted to sergeant. He went to sergeant's school with his class, but as a POW. When his class graduated, he went back to call back, and then got 30 pending.

The police board reinstated him after a hefty suspension. I'll assume he's being refreshed in sgt's school, then he'll graduate. He should have his seniority date from when he was originally promoted, but that's for someone else to figure out. Hope that helps answer your question

Rumor has it Hitney is gonna be the equivalent of the "Loop Girl" on the future...newly 'privatized' Midway Airport welcome sign.

"Welcome to Hitney International Airport"

Question is...which corner will the sign go on?........and which airline will put that smile on the tail of their jets?
