Hahahahahahaha

Sorry ... couldn't help ourselves ... hahaha:
  • In a confidential, sworn statement to federal investigators, Mayor Daley said his Office of Intergovernmental Affairs recommended people for city jobs but did not order their hiring, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned.
HAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh Lordy, that is some funny shit. Heh heh heh heh heh. We mean, haha, "recommended ... but did not order"? Hahaha ... sorry, we can't help ourselves. Hee hee hee. Oh man. Someone get us some towels? We've spit coffee all over our computer again.

Recommendations go without saying.

I thought this was hysterical as well needed a coffee break after reading it. Mayor had no prompts for his speak on this one.

No arm twisting here, yeah right. If your recommended from this/Mayoral office
YOUR HIRED!

This is President Bush. I am "recommending" someone for a position with the City of Chicago. No pressure. But let me know WHY they don't hired.

Discussed this last night. I think this is indicates a problem for Daley. It seems that knowing the meaning of what IGA's lists were used for, and defending their use, is pretty much an acknowledgement of timely knowledge of their existence.

Which means, when they are found to be be orders and not recommendations (which testimony and evidence will show), than Daley will be implicitly responsible for the knowledge of illegal activity.

Probably better to just state the first part as "I never ordered political promotions" and leave the recharacterization of what they supposedly were ("recommendations") out entirely.

And I suspect he and his lawyers knew this, which leads me to conclude that he ultimately feels that he is a defendant or target of this already. Duh, right?

I'm just saying, read between the lines here. This IS Daley as defendant, and its not a blanket denial. Bye bye Richie.

Can you say " not so honest during an interview with a federal agent?" that's the catch-all that they use. Couldn't happen to a bigger asshat. Running off to China this time....HHMMMMMM ...always run's when theres more indictments to come. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Can't believe there aren't more comments here. Does anybody realize that Da Mayor is admitting to using politics, CLOUT, to hire and promote. Sure he only recommended. If Da Mayor recommends something, it is an order! Does naybody think that if Da Mayor recommends someone for a job or promotion that someone is going to say, "Ok Mayor, we'll take that under advisement." Are any of these Federal Oversight people paying attention?
