Run to Remember
Anyone have any reports on how the "Run to Remember" went? We guess it's kind of the kick off for Police Week, what with St. Jude's later today, Memorial Park shortly after and the Recognition ceremony Wednesday. The whole thing culminates in the National Memorial next week and we hope to have a couple of reports from on scene from a few readers. We'll update as we get info.

Hey First, If you are sitting at the machine waiting to be #1 all the time your right, you are a loser.
RECOMMENDATION:

2) find a girlfriend (or boyfriend)
3) read a book
Congrats to being #1
Didn't go to the run. Had to work. Time due on weekends is impossible.
Going to DC, you will have reports as often as possible.
Will Phat Phil be running Today?
See you all at the ST. JUDE parade ! Be safe.
Remember... as you walk past the booth of assholes at St Jude, push up your sunglasses as you look right at them.
Remember to use your middle finger!
Do you want to see something funny, go to streaming video on a department computer then click on the title "run to remember" #V074.
You will see how Cline is the fastest runner on the department.
we watched that video in roll call twice!! it was SO FUNNY!! everyone was rolling-even the bosses..what a fat ass! best laugh I have had in a long time
Back from St. Jude's. Nice turnout.
I liked the sign the sign held by the lady near the grandstand asking why the bosses are silent on the Hampton issue.

Personally I thought the sign was extremely tacky and in poor taste. Take that shit somewhere else. The St. Jude's parade was not the time or the place. Other then that- all was well!

Too fucking bad, boss.
Truth fucking hurts, doesn't it?
Fuck the truth hurts bull shit! How about being there to honor fallen officers, not express opinions on street signs, boss?
That's great if you want to express your feelings by way of a homemade sign. More power to you- I'm just saying the St. Jude's parade was not the place to do it.
That was the right place and definetly the right spot to stand with that sign! Bravo!!!
No it wasn't the right spot or the right time. If you didn't see any of the Gold Star family members holding that sign then it wasn't from the right person, in the right spot, or at the right time!
Did you notice who WASN'T in the viewing stand? DAH Mayor! It was nice to see we have a few supporters who showed up without a political agenda; Forrest Claypool (Cook Co. Commissioner), Dick Devine (State's Attorney), and Tom Dart.
Just to let you know... there were a few "people" who were in support of the sign.
There is no need to say whom, but... they truly know the meaning of the memorial.
Thank you to those.
Well done, Ms. Greco!
The sign was great and the bosses need to take a stand. If they dont then to hell they can go.
Let's all be honest with ourselves... most of you only agree with using the sign because it makes you feel good and you agree with the message. And because of that, you can easily brush aside any discussion that the venue is inappropriate.
On the other hand, if the self appointed activists were out there protesting FOR the Hampton sign, you would all be the first to hide behind the "don't dishonor our dead officers" argument. You know that's the truth.
Personally, I agree with the poster who mentioned the Gold Star Families. Using St. Jude as a venue for speech about a controversial subject merely distracts from the true intention of the event. I support the first amendment and am not saying the sign is a violation of that law, it's just a violation of good taste.

Do you read the news or do you just pick and choose from the headlines?
Cline did respond to the naming of the street. He wasn't holding up signs at the St. Judes parade but he didn't sit quietly either.

Oh and a few other things-
Who the fuck appointed you to "manage" the men and women of the Chicago Police Department anyway? I must have missed that election.
And you keep saying "our decision". Is there a mouse in your pocket or are you talking about the voices in your head?
