Once again, the political machine grooms a son to take over for the father - and no, we aren't talking about the police department at the moment:
- Ald. Todd Stroger (8th) said Thursday he's qualified to succeed his father -- and confident of victory -- if a stroke suffered by Cook County Board President John Stroger prevents him from remaining on the Democratic ticket.
When are we going to get around to disbanding this completely outdated, outmoded and money wasting arm of government? We need to really get serious about reducing the size of municipal and county government. They are overly burdensome.

Looking back at the political history of Chicago I believe that the Irish are total sell outs.
Whereby the Italians refuse to sell out.
And no I'm not Mick or Dago, I'm just pointing out what I believe to be a true picture of political history in the Windy City.
It seems that the irish always sell out to all kinds of groups but the Italians refuse to sell out and end up owning the Irish and other politicos.

I'll post on topic. We need to get rid of every unincorporated part of Cook County. Every little section would have to choose who they get annexed in by if they touch multiple borders. No reason for so many of us to pay for a local, county and state police dept. We could then get rid of the Sheriff's Police. Their main duty is to patrol unincorporated Cook Co. Do a full background check on all of those no longer needed coppers and those who pass can be divided up between depts who need officers. It would save a ton of money on training.
Next, turn over all forrest preserves to the towns they r in. That eliminates another useless police dept being the forrest preserve police. Those juice babys wouldn't know what hit them.
Finally turn all the hospitals run by Crook County over to the state. I know they r corupt to but we already pay the state why pay the county to.
With those three things in place we could just eliminate county govt all together. Think of the millions if not billions of dollars saved. Those clowns who make double what they would make in the private sector looking for jobs. It would be awesome!!!!
No I haven't forgotten the jail or states attorneys office. The elected officials of all the cities in cook county can pick people to run those disasters (wow would there be some fighting). The money for those offices would be divided up by the population of each city. Obviously Chicago is the biggest so we pay the most. That is how democracy should work.
Now on to that Aerosmith Classic "Dream On"!!
So exactly how is this done, does Stoger get confirmed by The Cook County Board Members or is there a special election?
Cook County Democratic committeemen choose the next county board president. Your elected officials have absolutely so say.

The Kennedy thing is nothing new and happens for all members of Congress. A great book to read is: Inside Congress, by Robert Kessler. The book is a great read about all things related to Congress. This same incident happened to Teddy Kennedy quite a few times, and always washed under the carpet. You have to remember that the Capitol Police are the Members' of Congress personal Police Force, they give rides to and from the airport for the members and their families, and their budget and everything about them is controlled by the very people who they come in contact with most! it's a great job with some great perks, just don't try to do real police work, unless it's not a member of Congress...

How dare Stroger Jr. say he has earned that spot of his fathers! Evere position Jr. got was given to him because of favors owed to the father. And since daddy hasn't been there in many weeks, the place is running just fine without him. If the kid wants a job, let him go out and work for a living like the rest of us.
