How to Ruin Your Career
Step #1: Call the guy that Mayor Daley himself appointed to the Inspector General's office to report corruption. At least that's the gist of the article on the Sun Times website:
- The city's top corruption fighter appealed Thursday for tips from employees and the public about shenanigans in City Hall as Mayor Richard Daley's former patronage chief prepares to go on trial.
- Inspector General David Hoffman said tipsters can use his office's new Web site and hot line to report corruption, fraud or misconduct. The Web site is independent of the city and people who call the hot line can talk directly to an investigator.
- Hoffman, who is a former federal prosecutor, was named to the post by Daley in September to replace Alexander Vroustouris, who resigned last June amid allegations that his office's investigations were delayed and incomplete.
So we have a thoroughly corrupt investigative arm of the city asking for information about other corruption so that the corrupt investigative body can report to a mayor who has allowed graft, corruption and fixes of all sorts to breed freely for years. Sorry, but we'll take our chances with the Feds.

It seems to me that Daley is involved (again) in damage control, trying to make it look like he's interested in rooting out corruption (as opposed to the past 14 years or so). What a joke...say what you will about the feds, but they're the ONLY control over corrupt city/county dems....

Like we don't already. How many times did you have a DCFS and received a letter from DCFS indicating, "we find your information to be true, but we choose to take no action at this time"???????

I'm a Sgt. and I work an 8 hour day....6 days a week....and NO 40 days either so quit your whining and do your job.

I just read that "Chicagodetective.blog". Holy smoke! What knuckleheads! The authors have way to much insight into the follow-up DCFS investigation for me to beleive they really are CPD personnel. Methinks they might be disgruntled (as though I'm not!) DCFS staff. who attended public schools! I'll stick to SCC.

You cant be serious! Im a sgt and every single night without fail at least one car will ask for an hour or two on the end or at the very least a late lunch. I dont have a problem with it. Trust me my work day is longer then it was when I was a blue shirt.
I dont like Daley either, but he is better than Jesse Jackson Jr or Luis Gutierrez!! I'll take the lesser of the evils.

what really pisses you off is when you call them (DCFS) for a notification and they say we'll get someone to call you back. Then to top it off ask for a name for your report and they refuse to give you their name. Like your supposed to wait 5 hoursfor them to call you back. They think they are a real D-Unit.
TIP:
Before you give them any information for notification ALWAYS GET THEIR NAME AND THEIR SUPERVISORS NAME FIRST.

About the time due issue, why doesnt the fop(notice I didnt call them a uniion)require the dept to put down in writing(some kind of official pd form)why a p.o. was denied cu so everyone can see what the justification was for dening that officer cu and have that W/C affix their name to this report. I would love to read some of the reasons why cu would be denied and maybe this would make it easier for a class action lawsuit in the future for the dept denying our,I say again O U R cu when we want it off.
