A Drug Addict is a Drug Addict?
So where is all of the outrage from the Left now that Patrick Kennedy has admitted being addicted to pain medication after wrecking a car and getting a pass from certain Washington DC police bosses? We mean, they were ready to string Rush Limbaugh up by his testicles for "doctor shopping" and "felony drug possession" and such. Where and how does everyone think Kennedy got his pills? We're almost positive it wasn't by any legal means.

These Kennedy's CANNOT drive. Regardless of being drunk, drugged, or whatever. The whole group of them live on the edge. I'm sick to death of hearing about all the trouble they cause. They always get a free ticket no matter what they have done. Sen. Kennedy has one hell of a nerve trying to defend this guy. What a bunch of wacko's..

one doesn't think that Kennedy was either wacked out on meds, or drunk, when he hit the barrier? and what a disgrace that the Capitol Police bosses prevented the usual sobriety tests; its business as usual in Washington. Maybe the next generation of Kennedys don't realy measure up until they crash and their passenger dies....

In 1980, Edward M. Kennedy, Jr., the eldest son of Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy and the older brother of the Rep. Patrick (now in rehab) Kennedy (D-RI), came to Chicago to campaign for his father in the Democratic presidential primary against Jimmy Carter.
During his stay, pairs of detectives from Area 6 Burglary were assigned to chauffeur him around the city on the third watch.
One night, my partner and I drew the assignment. After Teddy, Jr. gave a speech in the early evening, we asked him what he would like to do.
Teddy wanted to have a few cold ones. Believing that he was age 21, we went to a Irish singles bar in the 18th Dist. and the partying began. He was quite a hit with the ladies, particularly when they learned he was a Kennedy.
As the evening progressed, young Kennedy hit it off with a voluptuous blonde hottie. Teddy asked the dicks if he might join her alone for some "quality time" in her apt. next door to the tavern. No problem.
A couple hours later, he emerged from her apt. with a big shit-eating grin on his face. He asked the detectives if they could repeat the assignment the next evening. It was only then that we learned that Ted, Jr. was only nineteen years old.
A suspicious Area 6 CO assigned other pairs of dicks to Teddy for the apparently boring nights that followed
For weeks, Teddy's "date" was teased relentlessly at the tavern about evaluating young Kennedy as "presidential timber."
Months later, one of the dicks was visiting D.C. He encountered Teddy and friends partying in a tavern on Wisconsin Ave. in Georgetown. He bought a couple of beers for the detective, laughingly recalling that great night he had in Chicago.
While I'd never vote for a Kennedy, they sure do love to party.
Can the State of Rhode Island stand behind Kennedy after this blunder! How many more Kennedy's will we have to put up with. Are Americans too weak to tell them to bug off and stay out of politics!

Whats the difference you ask? The difference is Limbaugh was on the air bashing drug addicts and advocating stiffer penalties for offenders. hypocritical? I think thats what angered most people about it.
Kennedy's car had the tiniest amount of what we would call "parking lot damage". He didn't crash at any real speed.
Rush is a junky on bad ass pain killers. He is a hyprocrite and he only got away with it because Bush owed him for helping out in Florida.

and out here in DC-land, the local news the other night had one (anonymous) witness placing young Kennedy at a bar for most of the evening in question. It might shown up on a Google News search for Dove and Hawk, or something like that. Political bar in the Capitol Hills naborhood.
