Not Insanity - A Sickness
The Cubs manage to draw the biggest crowd in almost 30 years to the ballpark Sunday and do it while dropping their 21st game in 25 tries. Why do people keep showing up to watch a loser? At least when the Blackhawks went downhill, we stopped going to games (though we follow from afar on radio, away games and on line). We just don't feel like giving our money to Bill Wirtz. What are Cubs fan's excuses?

i drove by there today...it's an atmosphere similar to a large college town.
the cubs sell fun, not baseball.
going to a cubs game reminds one of all the wonderfull days spent partying carelessly on the parents dime.
as soon as the hawks become competitive again i'll be back at the UC with my money in hand.
Don't ask me how the hell I ended up a Cubs fan in a family of White Sox. Although I think it's mainly because Grandma lived in Wrigleyville back when it was a dump. We used to watch the games on the rooftop of her brownstone.

Growing up on the west side we kinda had a choice, Sox, Cubs or both. I am a fan of both but I probably favor the Sox more. After all they are the World Champs. In the late 50s when I was hitting the teens the Sox more character with the "59 team. I was also a Yankee fa, (with Mantle and Maris etc.) A Green Bay fan (with Hornug, Taylor, Dowler, Starr, Lombardi Etc.)
So the Cubs have to show me more than Ernie Banks Memorial Days to get me interested. They can start by getting rid of Dusty. His time has come and gone.
Because Sox park is on the south side, not the North Side!!!!!

How can anyone in there right mine can root for a team like the CUBS. First of all they have a toothpick sucking ignorant asshole for a manager. Second They have a team that's going NOWHERE , this year next year or for that matter never. Lets face it the CUBS SUCK they always have always will. Lee Eliah said it best in his rant and rave about the CUBS fans. They are not in the zone they don't care who wins they just go to the park to act like F#$@EN Fools and root for the worst team in baseball

Hell, I’m a Sox fan and I only go to a couple games a year. I’m surprised any regular person can afford to go to so many games. You wind up dumping over $100 a game.
The other day I was listening to some 62 year old copper complain that “it’s the jobs fault he is living such a high standard of living” he is complaining that he has to retire and cannot afford to do so. He of course is a fucking idiot. He only puts a hundred bucks a pay check into deferred comp. This is the problem with most people. They live way beyond their means. They buy $80,000 BMW sports cars and dump thousands a year into going to baseball, basketball games etc. When it comes time to retire they are SCREWED.
Sox fan, Cubs Fan WHATEVER. You are a fool to support these spoiled, illiterate non-English speaking pieces of shit that make AT LEAST a half million a year if not MILLIONS to play a game. These same piece of garbage assholes would not even

There are many many southside Cubs fans. I don't go to the games anymore as protest of the losing product and crappy manager. I am still a Cubs fan. Many Cubs fans have "switched" to Sox fans???? Those ar the only losers.

It's Wrigley Field, not the Cubs that fills the stands. If the Sox or hell, any other team, played in Wrigley Field, they'd fill the seats.
The Tribune Company knows they have a cash cow and until the fans stop going to the games, there will never be a northside world champion.

To be a fan is to be a fan. That doesn't mean that you stop cheering for a team when they are losing. Just because people only like the White Sox when they are winning doesn't mean that all fans are that way. Cubs fans are loyal.
