The Burge Report is due out in a few weeks according to various media reports. Supposedly, a number of high ranking former and current bosses might be among those named and at the top of the hit parade is the former Cook County State's Attorney himself, Mayor Daley.
An already wounded mayor is going to be asked what he knew and when he knew it in regard to the Burge investigations. At least one former superintendent is already on record as being aware of the investigations and letting the political powers that were know about it.
So do we have at least one of the reasons the mayor has been pushing so hard for positive news, like bidding for the Olympics?

Well this city is so messed up, that if you were to tear the political system and rebuild from scratch it would still turn out to be the same bullshit it is now....The city will never be run in an efficent, honest, un-biased manner....everyone one will play favorites till the day we all die...get use to dissapointment...only difference between mayor daley and west side will is that one of them is our boss....remember this is only a job and it will be here when we die...family first and stay safe...Happy 4th of July to everyone....Fly our flag with pride....

Hey 11:25, why do you think it is just this site that "insults" those groups? That's life, chief...might not be nice but it is what it is. White people get called insulting names as well. Mainly not on this site. Mainly on the street, TV, schools, work, and so many other places. Hopefully, you could find yourself a bubble and live in that perfect world, asshole.
It is sad that the first comments regarding this entire media and legal circus involves those who read and monitor this blog site to be able to be "FIRST", as well as those interested in posting other scatological references to 'eating hispanic ass'. Meanwhile, the peoples law office continues to reap huge payouts from the city for the bottom dwellers that they represent, rapists, murderers, and thugs who never alleged they were victims of any so called "torture" until the lawyers from the peoples law office contacted them and told them what had happened to them (if they wanted to join the band wagon for a big payout).
Until an in depth investigation is conducted into the conduct and behavior of the lawyers in many if not all of these cases (in which many dissatisfied customers will be easily located, like Anthony Porter, who got NOTHING, and will probably be more than willing to talk about how he was coached), the public will never hear the truth. Not that they, or the media is actually really concerned about truth.
You guys need to get your heads from out of your posteriors, because the public is convinced that TV shows like the "The Shield" and other such tripe is accurate in their depiction of what we do!!

The way SCC has been crowing about this report coming out, it almost appears as if he is awaiting bad news that will be negative for the mayor. I mean dislike of the mayor is one thing, but this has the potential to be a major black eye for law enforcement...yet again. I do not know Jon Burge but I am sure he is not evil personified. I am sure that he is an honorable man who perhaps went too far at times-for the right reason.

EVERYONE knows what the story is, so people are either complacent or apathetic. If you want killers to run free, keep your thumb on the police. If you want killers put away you have to lift that thumb. America was and will never be a police state.

In my more naive days I use to love that movie A Few Good Men. I loved it cause the little guy faught back against the big mean bully. A true American Underdog story.

Can someone tell me what is wrong with a quota? Just how are we able to quantify an employee's work output? Is there a state law barring this? Is there federal law? Case law in a court system? In the union contract? Munmicipal ordinances? Just where is it?
