- Plane crash into the Lake. Again 2, 5, 7, the Sun Times and Tribune cover it. One of the tens of thousand of small planes coming from the Oshkosh Air Show no doubt and the pilot is still missing.
- Interesting Tribune investigation on how the City Administration use City services to boost the visibility of certain candidates, especially in tight races. We suppose it's just a natural progression of how the Machine used to buy booze for the winos and chickens for the hungry in order to secure votes and keep everything running. Now it's garbage cans, graffitti removal and paved alleys.
- Don't go to Miami - this seems to pop up every couple of years with tourists getting jacked and killed. Miami is just another big city that really ought to be leveled. We've never heard anyone say anything positive about Miami, even during spring break

How about the Ride to Remember? There were about 300 motorcycles and it didn't even make the news. Go figure!
There was a small piece on channel 9 last night regarding the Area Four Ride to Remember. The ride was very nice despite the heat. It was good to see police officers come together for a very good cause. We have to remember that we are a family and take care of each other. No one else will. People we need to stick together rather then tear each other apart.
I hope mayor diot is not there the day the memorial Opens!!!!

SCC, I think you are a bit overboard on the Miami thing. I've been to South beach twice in the last five years, and it is one of the best vacations a young person can take.
Restaurants everywhere, lots of beautiful people, interesting small hotels, boatloads of night life.
Just like a summer vacation in the beaches of LA or San Diego. I'm sure most of you guys have no idea what I'm talking about, but please take a long weekend beach vacation in any of those places if you can afford it. Its worth it. If nothing else, see how the other half get to live.

South Beach is barely Cuban whatsoever. Who cares anyway though? I like Cubans and Mexicans generally.

A local newspaper, the City Newshound (Clearing/Garfield Ridge) had this photo of Officer Mullen and 009 Officers that raised $2500 w/i 4 hours for the Memorial Park.
Nice to see Officer Mullin come out and kudos to the 009 Officers to donate toward the memorial.

But... if you travel into the communities, bring your weapon because you're gonna need it!! Easy to hide, many outstanding warrants, felons, etc hiding out there. Numerous homes with BARS on the windows to prevent being broken into. Quite the problem for fire fighters getting people out.
Just recently, an Illinois man was shot for asking directions. It's like Puerto Rico minus the bodies under the homes... yet.
