Light Weekend - Again

Seriously. It's almost like we have plans or something. Don't expect too much from us at the moment. Minor updates at best. Take care.

Talked to some guys in 018 today. They are beyond pissed. Rumor has it that the minister who addressed the roll call has a special attention on his church for a bomb threat for get this- cooperating with the police.

Williams did show up and apologized sincerely, though emotions were so high it was hard to take him seriously. The minister allegedly apologized for that woman's remarks. She too is supposed to be a minister. So much for a woman of the cloth.

It is going to take a long time to fix this one. The men and women are rightfully angry and are mistrustful. This will not go away soon.

I know that there are a lot of complaints and rants out here slamming the bosses, the job, the city and everything else. What I do not understand is why?

This job has never been legit. There are only so many spots and too many people. If you came on this job to be a desk jockey, house mouse, or some kind of super specialist, you are in the wrong place. This is a nuts and bolts job. Things have to be done- movers, parkers, anovs, case reports, service jobs, etc., etc., etc. Not all of us can get the profile jobs. So what.

If you want, to quote Jesse, be somebody, you have to play the game. If not, just be an adult and do your job. When I came on, the old timers were beefing about the same stuff we do today. Nothing ever changes and it will not. Get over it. Whining, crybaby, snivelling, grovelling, simpering adults who carry guns are an embarassment to the human race.

You must earn everything on this job, including respect; that of your peers and bosses. You also have to play the game. I do not care what anyone says, and I have had my bad times on this job, it is still the greatest gig in the world. You get to be a kid every day- play cops and robbers.

Like a guy told me once: They give you a badge and a gun, a car, and all the gas you can burn, and you get to fuck with people all you want; and they pay you too. Where else can you go to do this?

It has been a good ride. I am going soon, and I will miss it; the good and the bad. Lately, seeing, hearing, and reading whaqqt goes on on this job, it makes me ashamed to be here. Most of you people are pathetic losers, who probably could not get a real job any place else. What have you done to my police department.

Oh yeah, I am not he only one who feels this way. Beware, we are all around you and really hate the way you ruined or job. Some are even supervisors!!!!

Does the "big box" ordinance have anything to do with Carsons deciding to close their State Street store? Wonder if the media will ask that question?

The coppers who sat through the roll call have nothing to be pissed about...they had their chance and did nothing...so stop making this an issue...wah wah wah
If they were so upset they should have hit the medical.

Apparently the recruit went to Hooters in full uniform complete with duty belt and his weapon and ate and drank there then went to the academy the next day bragging how he got a discount for being the police.

Most likely these is no bomb threat against the church. Most likely the bosses know that the police are pissed and don't want any coppers doing anything stupid to the church building or people attending there. So the bomb threat is a cover story. The bosses just want the coppers to think that whatever may be done to the church or the people there is being "watched".

Dont believe for a second the brass of this department care about the P.O's. they will sell out to a $25 back of a magazine Rev. anyday to get another promotion. Charlie Williams is as big a whore as any of them he will be dancing and hugging on stage just like fat phil.

"meritorious picks" must be submitted by 31 August 06. CPD gave the brass a one week extension. Look for a class of sgts in September to start the "D" training.. probably about 50 or so.

Did anyone catch Crime Watch where Peter Karl was talking about the incident at 015 and the BB Gun incident at 018.

Supt. Cline said they are implementing a new program where community activists will attend roll calls at various districts starting with 018 and 015.

Well we already know how this "great" (yeah right) new plan worked in the 018 roll call. I wonder how the roll call went in 015? Anyone know?

What a fiasco!

I hope Supt. Cline learned that this is NOT a good idea from what happened in 018 and will cancel this ridicolous charade.

I laugh every time I catch a glimpse of that show. What rheteric.

Sgt's class...who gives a fuck...you really want to be a Sgt. now?? In this fucking toilet of a dept??? keep pushing a beat car....that way when you fuck up or make an "honest" mistake you can blame it on the white shirt who craved his position!! A sgt. on this job is the shittiest job

Dear Gong Show Unknown Comic:

Thank you for making my night. I laughed so hard reading that list of guest speakers. And any joke or humorous material that include Sgt. Chistine Hitney is always a plus!

I just love it when people who don't have a clue tell me or others that I have the shittiest job in the Department. I don't know whats more stupid. Their opinion or their obession with making sure that they share it with everyone.

Let me give you a clue bucko. ANYTIME you get out of the blue and into the white, you are ahead of the game. It doesn't matter if you have stripes, bars or oak leafs, you are way, way ahead of the poor guy thats pushing the beat car. Now, obviously certain white shirt jobs are better than others. I SUPPOSE being a field Lt. is better than being a Sgt.and being a Cpt. is better than being a LT., and being a Cmndr is better than being a Cpt., yada, yada, yada. But none of that means I have a bad job. Some just have it a LITTLE easier than I do.

Now when I say "ahead of the game", I'm not referring to being a better Police Officer, being smarter or anything else. What I'm saying is that while YOU may think I've got a bad job, YOU sir are mistaken. You have the worst job on the Dept. You have my deepest sympathy. It's the guy in blue who is the backbone of this Department, not the white shirt or the Detective, and nobody gets shit on more than you, which I think is outrageous. So when you think I have a bad job, think again. I've got it so good that I may not even take the Lts. test. And yes, I work in a District, on the street and not in some inside spot.

My advice to you sir is to take the Sgts. test. If you make it you will soon find out (after you become comfortable) that it's a GREAT job.

Gong Show comic, Thanks for the weight loss, I laughed my ass off. You should start your own blog and make it only funny things posted instead of whiney, disgruntled kids out of their element who do not know how to cope.

Roll call being directed and taken by Civilians who have an ax to grind with the police? Are you fucking kidding me? Who the fuck authorized this travesty? This is fucking crazy. Did this civilian talk down to the polic eand belittle them? Did they tell them what and how they should conduct their jobs? Are you fucking kidding me? If this is true, this is cause for some kind of revolt. Contact the union a.s.a.p. Better off, if this thing ever happens, everyonne should walk out. Together we stand, divided we fall. Everyone should be aware of this and what direction some of these no balls supervisors we have.

To Sgt. Carter...You speak my thoughts and words 100%. If a P.O. is a busy bee and learns as much as he/she/it can about police work...there is somewhere where they can find their "spot" whether it be E.T, FTO, DET, SGT, MAIS, desk, lock-up, etc, etc. I liked the squad car a lot and did a damn good job out there.. I know lots of POs who found their spots.....you have to do your homework and explore!! I worked for what I have on this job and if I see my promotion---yes I EARNED it with a lot of dilligence on this job. You have to set a goal and then work toward it. THATS ALL FOR NOW.

He went to Hooters for a few drinks after hours in his recruit uniform. He had some issues previous to that. Nice kid, but probably slipped through the cracks when he was hired.
