Two weeks in a row at the Meadowlands. What did the Bears do to deserve that? We wouldn't spend two weekends in Jersey on a bet. Hopefully though, it's two weekends of winning. We are cautiously optimistic.

Off topic but a word of warning to retired PO's:
A retired PO was very recently pulled over by Beat 1911, 3rd Watch, and given a thorough verbal dressing down for having more old autos than he had license plates.
This was from young officers who were having their asses wiped for them when this retired PO was the Real Police in the old Fillmore.
And this retired PO retired from, guess where, 019! And he trained many of the PO's on the third watch though not the hero who felt the retired PO needed a verbal assault.
So, all you retired guys, be very careful and have your papers in order if you travel through the north end of 019 lest these 5 year wonders pull you over and pointedly inform you, in public, that you are not the police any more, they are, and you had better get your papers in order if you want to traverse their beat.
Watch out for the regular crew on Beat 1911, 3rd Watch. They think they are the real thing but have much to learn. That is if they can ever get their lips unstuck from the WC's rear end.

Sounds like that kid from 019 is on his way to a career as either an IAD puke, an asshole Inspector, or maybe just as another goof, who writes more coppers & their family members than deserving violators.
You never see those guys at a man with a gun call. You never see them in Felony Court. You never see them at a Watch Party, Police Benefit, or Retirement Party. You never see them having a pint with the troops. You never see them at a P.O.'s funeral. They are the LEPER COLONY of the CPD. They are the maladjusted personalities previously mentioned. Unfortunately, there are far too many of them.

Ahh yes more over educated police who obviously were born and raised in the suburbs and have no clue, probably first job mom and pop still wiping there asses what punks!
We have a very similar problem with the State guys. The newbees want to write everyone. Coppers and their families. And the overwhelming comback by the new dudes was " Well... you should know better!" Um... piss off! We are all too happy to give Jim Dirtbag a break but not our own?
I stopped a CPD dude last nite for a minor violation. He was real cool about it. Never said he was the police but an ID card gave it away. Not a problem. No enforcement. "See ya!" And we then talked for 15 min about some things that go on. Very friendly guy. So, WTF! Anyone that writes their own should be strung up.
You new guys / gals have got to learn! We're about the only one that will help eachother out. The public wants us to burn in hell. And besides ... ITS JUST A FRICKIN TICKET!!!
Was the SOS benefit Saturday ? How did it go, how was the turn-out ? Can you still send a donation somewhere ?

If you have to ask, you are a bigger pussy than you realize. I know 019 is a slow, slow district, but traffic enforcement is still a petty law enforcement duty in a big town like CHICAGO. Get a fucking clue COWARD, and save the citation for the countless shitheads, bandwaggoning middle-class, and over-priveleged yups that drive 20 over, with no seat belt, on a cell phone, and disregard marked squad cars (all at one time).
As long as some copper, and I mean COPPER (not jailguard, state's attorney, city plumber) ESPECIALLY a CHICAGO copper, is not committing a forcible felony...no honorable copper should feel obligated to scold or lecture a fellow copper that has the terrible habit of driving like a copper.

So let me get this straight. In order to be a respected officer in the CPD, one must be a thirty-something at the time of his/her hire. That makes me wonder...why is someone at that age interested in the CPD anyway. With some exceptions, these "latecomers" to the game come with a lot more baggage and PERSONALITY problems than the younger officers.
I am from Chicago, big freakin deal. My partner is from Schaumberg, sooo what. This job was here before we got hired, and this job will still be here after we retire. And yes, I had a bachelor's degree upon appointment, and yes, the CPD was my first "real" job. Im now on my way to my second masters degree, shame on me, right?
I don't know who you are, and I doubt you know who I am. However, there are people like you throughout this department. That's unfortunate, but it is reality. As much as I dislike these officers/stoopervisors who maintain this viewpoint, we are still on the same team and I will always come to your 10-1.

I have to ask because I see this attitude from many older coppers, especially male ones. Why is it that you think you can kick everyone's ass? Are you really that big of a tough guy? Maybe 10 years ago you would have attempted to knock someone's teeth out and been pounded down to the pavement like a little beeeyatch and then locked up and charged.
The possibility exists that someone you have a disagreement with or even pisses you off might just be able to mop you badly or is it not possible because you were the baddest mofo out there. If we doubt it we should just ask you.
Keep living that fantasy world where you can kick every ass out there. It sounds good especially on the internet.

There was an "old-timer" who retired from 016 a few years ago who tried that bullshit in Florida with the on-duty police. He's now incarcerated for attempted murder of a police officer. Seems he decided not to come out of his house at a domestic and then fired a few rounds at the newbies who are not the big city heat......I hope he enjoys his years in the penetentiary for expressing his out of date old-timer "I can do whatever the fuck I want" attitude. Anybody I know who ever listened to idiot old-timers and their bullshit and then went out and acted stupid to on-duty police either got fired or jailed or both!! Remember folks we are sworn to enforce the law and also to obey it!!! If I am working I will not accept bullshit from off-duty P/O's no more than I would accept it from Joe Citizen. Keep your mouth shut and you will probably be OK but I have yet to meet a police officer who kept his mouth shut and still got in trouble.

Fantasy world? I'm guessing you have less then 10-15 years on, most of the old-timers were Vietnam Vets, lived through that, came on the job, made it through that and retired, you think after all that that are going to be dressed-down by some newbie in 019?
