Breaking News

On Fox 32, no links yet.

A protest involving upwards of 100 people is getting out of hand and at least a dozen people have been hauled off and arrested from the area of 63rd and Langley. Seems the neighborhood is unhappy that CPD killed a former altar boy and pillar of the community who attempted to disarm an officer.

UPDATE: Channel 7 has the early story

I love the report on the news I just saw where the State of Illinois has to pay the video game industry over one half of a million dollars because Roddo Haircut Blago created a law making it illegal to sell "violent" video games. Any jackass with half a brain knew this was going to be struck down as violating free speech.

But it is great to know that all of that money is gone now, we CERTAINLY did not need it to buy equipment (tasers, rifles, pdt's etc).

Great job Rod, you have my vote for the next sham election.

You fucking dolt!

Just read this article and made me think of that witch Pam Zekman's story from a little while back.....

Do you think this is a death investigation and possibly not a homicide?

Cops: No ID of headless body

Chicago police say they're still trying to identify a headless body that was found this weekend in a Southeast Side alley.

The black male's decapitated body was discovered Saturday by a passer-by in the 9000 block of South South Chicago Avenue, according to police. The man was naked.

Police today say they still haven't been able to identify him and their investigation is ongoing.

An autopsy performed by the Cook County medical examiner's office was inconclusive.

number one
I bet that this kid has a few "priors"

Secondly if I were the brass over there Id pull all the troops out and let them parade with "they hands up" for nobody.

Third If I bet against the Packers and lost, I'd pay.

Lastly Nitschke couldnt carry Butkus' or Singletary's shoelaces

Nitschke was better than Singletary. And don't bitch, I am a Bears fan.

In 1999, he was ranked number 18 on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Football Players, making him the highest-ranked player coached by Vince Lombardi, second among Packers behind Don Hutson, and third among linebackers behind Lawrence Taylor and Dick Butkus.

Nothing got out of hand, marchers did what they said they would do, marched. They held a brief "prayer vigil" on 62nd st. just east of Cottage, then walked over to the location where junior met his maker and broke off from there. Good restraint by everybody involved. About a dozen people were arrested when a few bottles were thrown. No cops hurt, no hostilities were displayed in front of the many newsmedia cameras present (which likely added fuel to this incident). Things were much dicier the night junior bought it.
Last night was a cakewalk.

When the news reporter was granting that female her 15 seconds of shame, she said "were gonna be protesting till something gets done".

I wish she had offered more information as to what she wants done? Do they want the police to make a statement which would say
The officers were in plain cloths, driving around in a black area looking for a black boy to shoot for no reason. Since police have nothing better to do on this night, and no crime was occuring anywhere in the city, we found a target and decided to take him out.
To Mr. Jackson and Rev Meeks...
Why dont you take the lead on a protest such as this and inform your people if there going to protest because they think they were wronged by the police, have them conduct themselfs in a respectable manner. Walking around throwing up gang signs and middle fingers for the national media to see will not help their cause. Then again, I hope you dont get involved. Let those goofs show the world just how they really are. Animals!

A feeble attempt to garner attention along with the Atlanta and NY incidents in an effort to taint a possible jury pool. remember any NEWS and exposure is good for their pending case. The bottle throwing idiots were compliments of "DA HOOD", someone had to act the righteous indignants
This is an over reach in an attempt to connect all 3 cases together in an effort to show some nationwide conspiracy against minorities. That's almost as funny as hearing Michael Richards AKA Kramer sing that "New Rap song" he wrote last week.

Let's be real honest, we need a Commander in the third district that will not allow supervisors to continue to screw over officers, who then screw over the community. We need a Commnader here that will make a difference in the community and will not sell it out, oops I forgot, he has always sold his community and officers out. Ask the people in narcotics, but we forgot again, downtown loves a yes man. Why don't we also get some supervisors that reflect the community they serve. What about the Neighborhood Relations sergeant, Tact Lieutenant and Tact Supervisors, Front Office Administrative Sergeant, all white? How can the community identify with them when they don't even understand the issues surrounding black people? Did you bother asking any other supervisors if they were interested? How can officers treat citizens decent when we are being treated like crap by the leaders in this building. We see depressed conditions daily and have to come back to the district and deal with the same level of crap. I don't blame them for protesting. Another thing, they were peacefully protesting and then some of the police and incompetent on the scene bosses egged it on in my opinion, but again, that is how they veiw us anyway.

Sorry, anonymous (2:13pm) you're wrong about the commander. He's been known to be outspoken, and people I know in OCD all speak highly of the man. Lots of us here in 003 find the guy easy to get along with, at least if you're a worker. I was out there at the "protest" and the boss was out there too; he ordered everybody to leave, return to their duties, and that's when the march cleared itself out. I think the boss did ok that night. No coppers hurt, about 13 assholes locked up who tried to turn the march into something ugly. We all lucked out. Sellout? Selling out what? He's black, and seems to get along good with everyoen around, black, white, female, whatever. I'm not black, but I think a lot of white bosses could learn from the guy. If one of the watch commanders cracked on you, it's likely something you did that brought it on. I heard he was a no nonsense guy when it comes to disciplinary matters, but that he appreciates workers. I haven't seen anything to say that it isn't true. I work tact in 003 and he thanks us all the time for checking out the complaints he gets from downtown and the aldermen. I can't say when's the last time that happened. I haven't heard any of the black officers in the tact office say anything negative about the guy, and all the Sgts. back here like him fine, black and white. Sounds like a personal problem you have to me! And if you don't mind a group of over 300 people shouting "fuck the police" it sounds to me like you need to resign, and go live in Grove Park with those folks, because you have some serious issues you need to resolve, and I for one would rather you resolve them while being a civilian. I don't need someone with your mindset having my back.

FYI, tact Lt. in 003 IS black. He's away at FBI school. Just thought you'd want to know. He's supposed to come back by the end of the year. Capt. Johnson is a fair boss on 3rd watch. Everybody loves the man. The 1st watch Lts. aren't bad either. Decent men, not looking to mess over anybody.
I can't speak for Gunnell on days, never worked for the guy, never worked days, and I never will. He tends to crack more of a whip on the dogs and malcontents, and that's his call, its his ship.
I do know that some of the people on days in 003 have really bad attitudes, and they are just about all female. I guess they have learned that they will be accountable for their performance, or lack of, just like everyone else, and that just because they're female, everybody isn't afraid to call them on their BS.

003 is not without black supervisors. days has 2, afternoons has 1, and midnites has 2. Two black tact Sgts, one black Gang Sgt. And the tact LT is black also, but he's training in Quantico for now. Oops, it looks like midnites only has 1 again. McCoy is riding that medical like a stallion. YAHOO! Ride 'em, medical abuser!! I think that adds up to nine black supervisors.
Oh, DC is black also. Heard he's part Indian, kind of looks like it. Still not representative enough?

Sounds like a bunch of kiss ass to me. First of all, where do you all work? The officers in 003 are very miserable and yes their are a whole lot of hardworking police, but you have a whole list of white bosses that totally screw over the officers and the community. Take the 2nd watch watch commander and desk sergeant. Enough said. It sounds like you have a personal issue with trying support incompetence, racism and plain old stupidity.

1. How long did it take for the idiots to realize if we left, so would the protestors?
2. Last I walked past the tact office, I saw white officers, Lt., and so on.
3.The bosses treat the aldermen like shit in the district, hmmm One of them is questionable, but everyone else has the police and the community's best interest at heart
4. My buddy works in Narcotics. If they spoke and thought so highly of him, how come nobody on his team came to his promotional party, nobody.
5. I'm not saying he is not a nice person to some degree, but when you allow selective discipline, come on, and don't address serious discrimination issues because you are afraid of them.
6. Ask the politicians and leaders in 003. They hear his lip service but nothing to back it up. But oh wait, he does not have what he needs to, to begin to address the issues in this community, but "yes man" would not take the time to say he needs help, that would make him look bad while the community and officers suffer who are overworked and underpaid.
7. Do you know any other Commander that had that many grievances filed in his first month as a commander, when the issues were brought to his attention his first day.
8. What happened with P.O Blue that resigned?
9. Why was a P.O. put on madatory medical because the bosses don't like her, same second watch bosses. They tried to take that girls job for no good reason. That is why the department made them order her back to work. Who watched that happen? That same old highly spoken of Commander. That could have been me or you.
10.Why didn't he have a party when he got promoted? Nobody would come. The other new Commander has the same issue.

If you are going to respond, do it with fact. If you were so positive about his ability and the supervisors there, you would have no problem identifying yourself, I would like to talk to you. I have a problem because I have to work here, and this district is full of rattlesnakes.

By the way, I would not be surprised if him or his protege' posted those response comments themselves.

The last thing before I forget, what was the reference to Grove Park for. What do those people have to do with the protestors. What are you trying to say about us black people.

12/01/2006 12:26:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I see the responses to this story still opens the door for racist comments and remarks. I was there too. The protestors were peaceful. A few angry citizens showed up. They have been complaining about the treatment of the police all year, so at this point they were and are frustrated. Those are not your kids they are kicking ass, altering the story of the crimes, etc. You all do it and know about. Write the paper to fit the crime as you see it. If we had more officers and supervisors (not 9 and a possible, out of 32), that were reflective of the community, this could be lessened.

Lets see, the city saw that more minorities were coming on the job after they instituted the 2 year college requirement, so they changed the psychological portion to ensure they removed minorities. Look at the stats, the number of minorities removed compared to whites. You don't see us eating bullets. Look at the number of minority lts. and captains. How can you say they are being fair. By nature, everyone identifies better with people and situations that reference their/our own comfort level. This is real, so stop lieing to yourself.

I for one like the old commander and the new one. They both used this as a stepping stone, so what. All the bosses do the same thing. I just wish they had more minority lieutenants and captains, you know why, then the shit they are getting away with that is blatently racist would cease (to citizens and officers). You should hear the shit I here in the locker room, and one sergent in particual "W".

I also like the women on second watch. They look a hell of a lot better than the other watches.

This is entertaining so keep writing. I don't normally comment but just so you know, me and that stallion you referred to use to date in 002 and 003, so I know that she has a real issue with her back and should probably not be on this job at all. Her condition is terminal. You ignorantly comment and don't know what people are going through, so I think you fall into the miserable cop section. I don't remember your name being doctor? I also know that she can barely walk at times let alone do other things, that is why I said use to date. By the way, Capt. Gannell has the same problem but won't admit it.
