Corruption Links so Far
This is what the current media sites have up so far. No doubt it will expand a bit before receding into the background again:
To date, we have 11 people stripped so far (7 PO's, 1 Detective and 3 Sgts). A few people have contacted us and a couple of comments have stated this is going to result in around 20 officers facing some sort of criminal or disciplinary action, ranging from the indictments so far to administrative actions - probably separations.
We have a difficult time believing that 20 people were involved in all of these incidents, so it would seem that people are being stripped for NOT taking action, NOT informing supervisors or NOT following procedures in place.
UPDATE: #12 stripped today. Now it's 8 PO's.

Rumor has it that SOS has a ton of PAR forms already on the bosses desk.
Off topic - Paul Geiger, attorney for FOP, is representing a client alleging the police committed civil rights violations. The case is Bern v. Potter (Frankfort Police Sgt.) and the Village of Frankfort, case no. 06 CV5356. It was filed on Oct. 3, 2006 and is front of Judge Marovich. Geiger lists his law office address as 1412 W. Washington (the FOP's address). Are members of the FOP paying for the expenses related to Geiger's, Pleines' and Herbert's law practices? Also, it would be an ethical conflict for FOP Staff or any of their spouses to accept gifts (including monetary) from any vendors doing business with FOP. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

All of these guys stripped- ARE NOT DIRTY. Its not that clear cut. Sgt. Roscoe- for example- IS a prince. He did nothing wrong except handle a team that was not his -under Matts request. Now he is stripped and Matt is all good. Something wrong with that picture.

This has now become a witch hunt. J.M. is charged with official misconduct, because he asserted his 5th amendment right. He has been off that team appox 2.5 years now. The States attorneys are now run amuck with this,I fear there is power trip and vendeta fueling this shit.

It will be interesting to see if someone is getting tagged for taking the fifth in front of a grand jury. Why?
Think back to the recent Burge discussions. I recall that numerous posters here were arguing that there are not consequences for taking the fifth in front of a grand jury.
If the city let numerous exempts slide on that one, but is tagging a sergeant on this one for the exact same act, I would think there would be all sorts of potential ramifications.

intersting that the ryan harris case would be a topic here...considering that the ASA S.C. that is prosecuting these officers is a brother of a dick that was handling that Harris case. SMALL WORLD!
Of course S.C. is also using the same tactics (coerion, subouring perjury, and subtrifuge) to try to get as many officers involved, so he can slam J.F. and K.H.
S.C. does not care if an officer is innocent or not, nor does he care whether officers were on specific cases or not, he feels that we, the entire CPD, is in on the consipracy.

Lt.Murphy A1VC CO @ the time retired and was rehired as a civilian to run the Cold Case Squad to the tune of 130G a year.

Detectives located the boys,and they confessed, case closed. Minor detail was the adult semen, but do to state police crime-lab backlog it to some time for that element to present itself. BIG DEAL..that could be logically explained. BUT, NOooo, it's more fun to castigate the police and claim frame-up and seek $$ from the city.
If this was DuPage County, both boys would be convicted and Durr also as an added bonus. But in Crook County it's easier to make excuses for the criminal element of society and blame the POLICE.

One of the alleged "Angels" who were wronged by the Police who is now 15 or 16 years old shot and killed a guy on 127th st. in Calumet Park this past spring or summer. Caught on gas station serveillence tape.

One of the best Police Officers, now Detective, that I know, worked that case and told me at the time that these little shitheads did it. They knew far too many details to not have done it.Besides being the best P/O, Detective I've ever met, he is also one the most honorable men I've ever met. So when he tells me they did it, as far as I'm concerned, they did it. End of story.

Ryan Harris was killed by the 2 criminals in training. 1 cinder block to the cranium. All Floyd did was get him some and left a little MAN JAM/pubic hair just enough to get some DNA.

They had information that had not been released to the media so their involvement on some level may not be as far fetched as it may seem on the surface. But that part wasn't released to the media. Check out the article regarding this case in The Chicago Reader from October, 2006. It gives information not previously released by the mainstream media sources.

Paul Geiger is the most knowledgeable attorney the F.O.P. has ever hired. Before you start bad mouthing him just look at his track record. He has represented thousands of officers and helped out so many. In fact the only case that I know that he has lost was Meriday and that was a political heater that was decided before a decision was handed down. Personally I feel whomever is the culprit of the rumor mill has a motive other then the truth.

I totally agree with you! That's the infamous "gray area". Well it's really not that gray since you are either lying or manufacturing evidence if you are working in it.
I have to laugh when I hear guys lament that "they don't want us to do gray area work anymore". Yeah, no shit!!!! If you are lying ANYWHERE just to make a one bag case, you are a bigger loser than the hype you are locking up. In my opinion.

It has been said before, but i will repeat. POLICE OFFICERS ARE THIER OWN WORST ENEMY. Some of the postings here are un-wise to say the least. Many people read this stuff and will certainly percieve this stuff in the wrong way. IE. Craig Futterman reads this and he is one of our worst enemies. And there are many others, please make responsible postings. And for those of you who are to stupid to know what that means, just SHUT THE FUCK UP.
What saddens me is that all of those in the "upper echelon" of this Department and the SA Office are hounding the officers charged as well as the unit as a whole, overlooking those who supervised them. How can that be? How can a commander and a Lt. be aware of the amount of cr#'s these individuals were getting and tell them, keep doing what you are doing, and we will take care of the rest. (and yet they made them shine and one is now an ADS) How can phone calls be made demaning guns and drugs from these officers before their tour of duty was over. How can a Lt., bring an ASA into roll call essentially showing the guys in SOS that it was O.K what they were doing, and the ASA remain silent? How can this Lt. walk away from his dream team now? NO CONSCIOUS! How is it that this team of officers were not seperated long ago? So for all of those who think the supervisors should not go down, ask yourself this. If you were their supervisor would you have allowed them to stay together after all of the complaints? If so, where would you be now? Which leads me to, where are THEY now? If there is any truth to what these officers face, than they should do their time and be fired. HOWEVER, someone needs to open the door to an investigation into what really was going on in SOS during this time. What were officers told? What really went on behind the scenes to get a gun or dope during this time. It does not make illegal activity in this matter overlooked, but departmentally all white shirts should be looked at as well, otherwise what does that tell all of us P.O's???? By the way all those supervisors that touched every single cr# should be lookid into, you mean NO ONE down the chain thought this was obsessive??
