Rumor Mill in Overdrive

No, not promotions. Indictments.

It's popped up in more than a few conversations here and there. Now it's making it's way into our comments sections. We would be remiss if we didn't address it. The title says "Sarcasm and Silliness," but everyone knows that crap gets flung by the bucket full on this site. We knew it'd be that way when we started. It will continue in some form or another forever.

It is being whispered that new indictments are expected as soon as this week. Also, some old names will be slapped with additional charges. If the rumors are to be believed, this is going to get very ugly very quickly. Old rules still apply - we'll post links to any stories we are directed to. Foul weather ahead boys and girls. Batten down the hatches.

UPDATE: Cool - since we posted this around 1045pm last night so we could go to bed early, we scooped the Sun Times by over 4 hours.

UPDATE: Scooped Channel 2 by almost 8 hours. We have the best readers in the world.

UPDATE: Channel 7 has the story - everyone else is still using the Sun Times early report.

Anyone know if the CPD concept SUVs floating around out there capture speeders? Reason I ask is there was one parked on the median at about 65th and Western as I blew by traffic at about 60mph. Could have sworn I saw a flash. I think I was busted earlier this month by those damn red light cameras. How the hell are we suppose to get to work on time or get the hell home fast without paying the little man!!!

$O$ in the past was allowed to run like dogs without collars. Under the past Commander Matt. Fast forward a bit we have indictments finger pointing going on. Currently we have a few coppers out on bond and some residing at the MCC.

Sometime in the next few days we will see more indictments come down from a Federal Grand Jury. These will take the form of more $O$ guys ending up in the MCC.

Why is the current Commander Wayne holding the bag? I understand he is having problems sleeping, and drinking Maalox like an Irishman drinking beer on St Patricks Day.

I for one think Wayne should not be held responsible here

More indictments/charges from SOS? Hell, I would have thought that IAD and the CCSAO would have snared all the bad apples in that unit by now. What the heck could they be waiting for? Oh, I hear they are going to snare a female PO who was in the center of this investigation but, up until now, has not been charged...

Why should commander wayne go down with them you ask?

Answer:
He is the unit commander. He's been protecting those assholes for years. He's tight with every sgt and P.O. involved with this. He put every one of those guys in top spots in the unit. If he doesn't go down the city isn't serious about cleaning anything up. Buy him some pepto bismol if you want.

Fact is they are bringing in dope dealers and ex-cons to testify and that takes time. Prison releases and transfers are not easy. And for that matter when is the last time they had a legit gun pinch. Taking away gun pichs like TRU from other officers dont count. As for their Sergents or Lt.'s. How the fuck are they not accountable. Where is the pressure on them. People you have to wake up. The department does not give a fuck about regular P.O's. Answear your jobs, take 2 personals, 1 lunch and call it a day. Dont put yourself in a position that 2 years latter your under investigation by the department/ FBI for doing the "real police work."

You're a tool who knows nothing! There are no federal indictments on this, they are all state charges which is why the SOS guys never went to the MCC they were all in the county. I hope you have the balls to apologize to these guys and girl when this turns out to be bullsh!t(another reason why the Feds didn't want anything to do with it). And NO, I'm not on SOS, I have never been on SOS, and yes I do have more time on than you. Even though we expected these indictments for a while now, it is still hard news to digest.

We all know "working cops" and somewhere a friend or former partner is saying "He was such a good guy..or she was such a good officer..or I can't believe it, that is so unlike them"..etc.

People keep them and their families in your prayers.

This job has a way of changing people. In theory, we are all expendable by a society that cares more about protecting the criminal scum out there, than the POLICE!

REMEMBER: This could happen to any of us at any time. (I can hear some of you allready saying, not me. I don't steal or put cases on people, blah, blah, blah) But, take a more simple scenario. (Those NYC P.D. officers come to mind.)

Imagine you are working alone. You respond to a job. You are confronted by several armed subjects(gang-bangers). Fearing for your life you fire, killing one. You momentarily take cover to clear a weapon malfunction, the 2nd offender grabs the weapon lying nearby the DEAD offender and flees. He is never found. There are no witnesses or other evidence.

You are white, dead offender is black. The typical community groups, activists and Reverends claim you killed the man in cold blood and are making up the 2nd offender as part of a POLICE Cover-up!(Similar to what is being alleged in NYC incident)

Next thing you know your life is upside down. YOU get indicted by a Grand-Jury, you are placed on unpaid leave, you have to mortgage the home to raise bail to bond out and retain a lawyer, etc.

Obviously, that is a bit of fiction. But, my point is we are all free at the moment, doing our jobs, thinking at times that we are the only ones working and that everyone else is "the dog-ass."

Remember in the Police Academy when the instructor said "look around the room..some of you will get divorced..some of you will become alcoholics..some of you will be indicted and go to prison..some of you will be fired, quit, or be killed on duty, and some of you will even kill yourselves! The lucky ones will reach retirement and collect a pension!"

Everyone looked nervously around at one another, and there was some uncomfortable laughter.

Well, I've been on the job long enough to have seen one of each of the above happen to my classmates, and we only had about 35-40 in the home room. Very Sad indeed!

My point is these recently indicted officers all looked proud, just as we did on our graduation day. They probably never envisioned themselves in their current situations. Many probably come from proud "police families."
So please..Just give them a little bit of "the benefit-of-the-doubt" before heaping a load of shit on their heads.

Because it really could happen to any one of us (13,000+) out there with out warning, at any time, based on circumstances, fate, bad-luck or bad timing!

Look how many people Mayor Daley has thrown under the bus in his 30 + years of PUBLIC (DIS)SERVICE!

Stay safe, back each other up, and be proud of "the thin blue line!"

JF and CS routinely came in with tremendous arrests, they were always hard working coppers. KH and TS made some solid arrests, but KH is a little snake. If, and I repeat if, they are guilty of there allegations, when and why they choose to go bad is a mystry. If WG had any idea or reasin to believe that they were taking $$$, I know he would done something about it. If there guilty, they deserve what they get, there big boys who made there own decisions. They made all us look bad.

I have been on the job for nine years and have been the working police all of those years.

It seems these days though, as many seem to agree, that it doesn't pay to be out there working these days. Not defending what these guys allegedly did.

But with the feds setting us up, a mayor/machine that throws us under the bus whenever politically convenient, "reverands" making police policy, not giving us the technology/equipment we need, being forced to live in a city we cannot afford to live/own a house in, the most openly corrupt city/county/state government I have EVER seen, a promotional process that only benefits the clout babies, etc.....why risk it?

So THEY can get re-elected over our hard work and we continue to get shit on? Time for all of us to think about these things!

NOW......Remember, that THIN BLUE LINE is NOT a slogan it's a way of life for all of us in the CPD.

Some of us on the job a few years back remember a similar incident in which there was a 'life-threatening' shooting incident in which the brother officers, after securing the scene of a police shooting, could not find the offenders weapon, PANICKED, and left the scene.
While initially 100% justified, because they left [knowing they would be CRUCIFIED by the press and the 'community'] they cast doubt on the true 'justification' for the shooting.
Here's my point.... WE are not respected, appreciated, understood, or backed up in society in general. WE have to then look out for OURSELVES.
Minimize the controversy [if possible]
Back to the top. ..."Remember that THIN BLUE LINE" [No one else will]

Can't wait to see how many murders we end with in 2007, now that contact cards and dispersals are more important than guns and drugs. Let's all get the quota of "quality of life" arrests and keep out of trouble. Never mind that some of us work in the neighborhoods we live in and would like to raise our kids without explaining why the kid two doors down took a bullet at the table during her birthday party!!!
I don't have a lot of time on, but this is a bit ridiculous. Anyone have a spare Valium? My damn nerves are shot!

Run amuck and taint every officer? I had the pleasure of working and learning from him and trust me if JF came after you, you were dirty.

Yeah, how dirty was the fireman who door got kicked in while he and his family were in bed?

dirty, that shit bag was the neighborhood coke head till he got hired by the cfd... fact!!

That fireman wasn't as honest as he seems. Every fireman who knows him says he runs a helluva bookie operation out of the house - he's mobbed up. Or at least he used to until JF and crew broke it up.

mobbed up... please nothing but a past coke head freak!!!

What was J.F.? How far is your head up your ass? Just because the guy you rob is dirty, that doesn't make it O.K. I pray to God this was just a baiter posting, no one can be this stupid.

maybe you aren't familiar with the Profer that's been making the rounds of the District and Unit offices. You know that typewritten document that spells out the charges and allegations in detail that let a judge find probably cause to hold certain offenders. Read it once or twice. It clearly states they have KH on audiotape promising not to show up in court twice and a couple other people. So much for you gobbling up the spew from people who are actually backing these assholes. Want to buy a fundraiser ticket?

How about we ask the other "non-stripped" officers that have been cooperating with the ASAs for months.

Who is betraying who? Who is saying what they need to to get themselves off. e.g. during the warrant, I just stayed outside...wink...wink.

The ASAs will say and do anything to shore up their case against the ringleaders. They need a conviction to justidy their job. This investigation is costing us, taxpayers, a lot of money and they need to prove that they are right.

They will not settle for anything less.

For those of you that judge others, maybe you should put on your dress blues, look in the mirror at yourself and then u will see the only assh**e cop on this job. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

What saddens me is that all of those in the "upper echelon" of this Department and the SA Office are hounding the officers charged as well as the unit as a whole, overlooking those who supervised them. How can that be? How can a commander and a Lt. be aware of the amount of cr#'s these individuals were getting and tell them, keep doing what you are doing, and we will take care of the rest. (and yet they made them shine and one is now an ADS) How can phone calls be made demaning guns and drugs from these officers before their tour of duty was over. How can a Lt., bring an ASA into roll call essentially showing the guys in SOS that it was O.K what they were doing, and the ASA remain silent? How can this Lt. walk away from his dream team now? NO CONSCIOUS! How is it that this team of officers were not seperated long ago? So for all of those who think the supervisors should not go down, ask yourself this. If you were their supervisor would you have allowed them to stay together after all of the complaints? If so, where would you be now? Which leads me to, where are THEY now? If there is any truth to what these officers face, than they should do their time and be fired. HOWEVER, someone needs to open the door to an investigation into what really was going on in SOS during this time. What were officers told? What really went on behind the scenes to get a gun or dope during this time. It does not make illegal activity in this matter overlooked, but departmentally all white shirts should be looked at as well, otherwise what does that tell all of us P.O's???? By the way all those supervisors that touched every single cr# should be lookid into, you mean NO ONE down the chain thought this was obsessive??

Promising someone you won't show up in court so the charges will be dropped is "Official Misconduct." Only the ASA's office can make deals with accused offenders. Every time you promise some mook on the street you'll look the other way or write up a drop case or god forbid, lose some dope you found on him just for a pistol, you are committing "Official Misconduct." And they've got KH on tape twice admitting it according to the Profer and probably others too

Go read the fucking law and the Profer before you come on this site and look like a complete ignoramus. And go fetch your shine box while your at it, fucknuts.

OK, boys and girls, here's a refresher course on FED's 101: Rule 1: If the Feds come knocking on your door at 6 am saying they want to talk to you about someone else, tell them to wait outside a minute while you put on some clothes.
Rule 2: Return to the door with the phone in your hand and state: "My lawyer says you'll have to make an appointment to talk with us."
Rule 3: Close the door.
Rule 4: NEVER, EVER, EVER talk to the Feds.

A profer is a meeting between the defense attorney the aressted person the prosecuting attorney and the arresting officers, or investigators on the case. Profers generally occur post arrest, so if one of the sos guys or gal profered he or she is giving up other people, trying to be the first one in the door. "First to talk walks."
I have no background on the case, other than to know that those officers were protected and warned and they fucked it up for all of us.
If it is not yours inventory it, If it seems to good to be true, or the arrest to easy to make, walk away.
Find someone you can trust make that person your partner, take your days off and furlough together. What happens in the car or on the street stays there, fuck trying to get some pussy by telling war stories, or some dick, trust your partner if you can not get a new one.

I can count on one hand the number of subpoenas that I have received. But anyway, my point was the the fact that the most serious thing caught on tape was missing court.

fpr 9:32:04- reread the original post. it asked if the SUV had a red light camera, not a plate reader. next time you tell someone to do some research and then call them a fuck, you oughta think about who the real fuck here is because it's probably you, you fuck!

what's up with no one on here knowing how to spell? you all are a bunch of ignorant fucks on here, that's for sure. and before any of you wanna fire back and call me a fuck, you're the fuck!

-----------------------

That's where you're wrong. The most serious thing on the tape isn't that he was missing court- it was that KH was promising not to show up so the case would get tossed. That's Official Misconduct and that's 10-15 I think.

because the defendant wore a wire. and KH was his arresting officer. and the defendant says "Officer H?" And KH says "Yeah?" Geez, are you thick.
