Wow. Big surprise. We'll go out on a limb here and predict an overwhelming victory. We'll also predict that SCC gets about 100 write-in votes. In fact, we might end up closer to the second place finisher than the second place finisher is to Daley. Any takers?

- Bill Beavers, the newly-elected Cook County commissioner and former alderman, says, with his usual candor, the only thing standing between Daley and another term is a federal indictment, which, according to Beavers, is highly unlikely.

Mayor Daley today has announced that he has received information through a confidential informant that he is crooked.
The mayor swears he had no idea whatsoever that he was corrupt and is ordering an investigation into it immediately and vows not to let it happen again.
"I've been Mayor of 'dis great City for 17 years and believe me, I am the last person to become aware I am corrupt. The nerve of me! Right under my own nose too! I will put a stop to it right now and put safeguards in place to root out all corruption by myself in the future. The citizens will not be fleeced by myself no more, the Mayor proclaimed loudly.
The Inspector General will be informed I am corrupt and will be so ordered to watch for it in the future. I thank all da wunerful citizens for 'dere votes."

Hey SCC,
Can you please help me figure out who could help me sue the City, County, & the State of IL. The way I see it is that I have standing to sue the City, County, & State for requiring me to live here.
The reasons to sue are as follows:
I and my family are required to live in and pay taxes in a City, County, & State that has shown a propensity to corrupt politicians. The percentage of alderman who have been indicted throughout the years is ridiculous. Our governor is going to jail. I should be able to live in a City/County/State where we choose.
The education in the public schools is almost the lowest in the country. So I am forced to send my children to inferior schools.
The City, County, & State have underfunded all of the pensions, thereby not guaranteeing my retirement.
The City, County, & State are requiring me & my family to live in a place that is unsafe & totally unprepared for a terrorist attack. Thereby leaving my family at risk. Chicago Police are at a very low level and could not handle an attack.
I have much more but who could I hire? Please help!

This is a hoot. My wife works for an airline and recently attended a ceremony where lil dick Daley was in attendance. Several police officers were there to get awards. One of Daley's lapdog servants cautioned the officers from referring to Daley as BOSS as it enrages him to be addressed as such.
