What is Quinn Running For?
- Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn says he wants to introduce legislation to end so-called "double dipping" by banks that charge fees for using ATM's. The fees are charged to withdraw money and customers are also charged usage fees by their own banks.
Quinn plays a decent political gadfly. We know he's an old time Machine guy, but what's with these populist positions he ends up taking two or three times a year? Is he working off purgatory time for previous Machine sins? What's his angle?

Be careful of Quinn. Despite some of his stands, he is just another liberal Democratic machine politician. I think he knows Blagojevich is going to be indicted, and even though he will be the governor by default, he wants to stop any potential opposition now.
He just figures that he's going to be Governor when Rod get indicted.
Quinn is not a machine guy. He has been against Daley for years. That's why Blago tapped him for Lt. Gov. because Daley wanted a machine picked guy.
Blago said "NO" and picked Quinn because Quinn is in good with the South Side Churches.
Sure, he wants to be Gov. wouldn't you if you smelled blood?
Perhaps he believes he is here to serve the people that are responsible for putting him there.

Illinois is a DEMOCRATIC state. Just get use to varing levels of corruption. Like all criminal enterprises they will evolve.
BTW- ATMS are a convience and you pay a price for the use of such. If you dont want to pay the fees dont use them. Go directly to the financial institution and withdraw money out.
If you use the ATM at your bank you are not charged a fee. Simple as that.
Quinn is a goof he has no chance of ever winning anything! Maybe if Fitzgerald and his team get blago he could scoot in! But blago is master and everyone is scared to put him and daley in jail forever!
