I think the fact that as a supervisor, Sgt. Hitney acted in EXTREMELY poor taste when posing for a photo in front of a crashed plane that killed a child just before the holidays. If the worst punisment for her moronic act is being embarrassed, she got off easy then. The photos are hilarious...and furthermore, you've got to have thick skin on this department, there's plenty of ball busting. Suck it up!
I work in 009 and I have nothing bad to say about her. She is a good person and a good sgt. who made a mistake, plain and simple. It's been a year, let it go..

Off topic, but lets hear it for the SWAT guys who, after all these years, finally shot a bad guy.
I retired out of a Detective area a few years ago. I don't know why, but back in the mid '90's it became very fashionable for young policemen to carry disposable cameras and take pictures of homicide victims and death investigations. Some of the young police officers would wait until the scene was processed, others wouldn't. Many would pose with the dead victims. They all wanted photos for their scrap books and to impress their friends back a the taverns. I don't agree with what Sgt. Hitney did, but it's been over a year, let it go. We all did stupid things on this job that we wouldn't want exploited. and critiqued over and over again.
Now, I'll sit back and wait for everyone with 2 years on the job to mother f... me and to toss out negative comments about the Detective Division. Let it go, it's been over a year.

To all who defend a certain supervisor who made a "mild faux pas" before said supervisor was on their way to be promoted: stare at any of those photos and concentrate on the F/2 for 10 seconds. Close your eyes and picture it was your child that was killed. Now before you open your eyes, can you remember said person's facial expression? Said supervisor is getting off easy.

I was watching the NEWS coverage of the SWAT incident on TV. Who was the midget/dwarf SWAT Team member whose head came up to the bottom of the side window of the Suburban Squad Vehicle? Was I seeing things or is this the Tunnel Rat for the SWAT team? Does he/she utilize a booster seat while driving or a step ladder to enter?

I know that dwarf your talking about he may be alot of things, but where its important he is 10 feet tall in my book. His son is well mannered and respectful, and provides for his wife and family.

That “dwarf” may be a great guy and provides for his family, but he isn’t doing anything that the majority of coppers on this job aren’t doing! As for his shooting skills, yea whatever! I would be a great shot also if the department gave me the gun, ammo, and company time to go and shoot. However, that is not the case. I have to work six days a week – eight hours a day and then go to court in my off hours. Let’s see the clout babies in SWAT do that. When they work a beat car for eight hours, go to court, spend time with their families and are still great shots then I’ll be impressed. Until then get off your high horse hero. Tell it like it is hero the only reason he and the rest of those guys are in SWAT is because they have a phone call. How many of these guys have any kind of real military experience? My bet is few at best. Why? Because they could not handle the military where they would have to make it on their merits unlike CPD. Keep telling yourselves that you are in an “elite” unit maybe someday you will get an uniformed person to believe you. In the mean time I and the rest of the veterans on this job will just keep laughing at you.
