Bigger and Bigger

Now the Austin 7 can no longer be called the biggest scandal in recent memory.

According to published reports (we're tired of linking to them all - surf our media links in the right hand tool bar) , upwards of a dozen unnamed (and uncharged) officers are cooperating with the investigation, appearing before the Grand Jury and signing affidavits. This is getting insane. At what point do they call it off? At what point should they call it off?

Anyone have the Vegas line on whether or not SOS gets disbanded this year or next?

Im sure sos will simply have a name change...sog is already gone, so maybe GOS? Gang Officer Section? or Godsons of Supervisors? Or, maybe make it legit--i dunno, do something CRAZY like look over the stats citywide, recruit the top few performers from each district...naah, this is Chicago...lets just change the name.

If the ongoing SOS saga isn't a textbook case of poor supervision by Sgts., I don't know what is!
I guess this is why the rank is often referred to as one of THE most, if not most important position in the Dept. Clearly, a number of supervisors, and I'm not just talking Sgts. here, dropped the ball. Saw Cmdr. WG of SOS today at Headquarters. He did not appear to be a happy man. One has to wonder what the Job is going to do with or for the man. Should he get demoted (unlikely),then the job sends the message that he was accountable also. Should he move forward, well, then they've absolved him of any accountability.
It would appear that ADS MT has escaped the big broom so far. One has to wonder if either boss will be subpoenaed to the grand jury investigating SOS, or if they've been called already.

hey, big-time article in slum-times: "City agrees to overhaul promotions system"

http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/161396,CST-NWS-daley06.article

This article centers around merit promotions in the Fire and Police Departments. Do you think this will finally get rid of all the clout, inept people getting promoted? There may still be a few that slip through the cracks but we'll take this for now.
Hopefully this is a start for reforming this Department.

You can't disband SOS. Where will all of the cronies, hacks and nephews go? Besides, at the rate they're going you won't have to disband the unit, you'll just have to take roll call in Division IX of 26th and Cal.

I know a few good guys in SOS.
Good people, good parents, good cops. If they got your 6, you'll be OK.

There are P.O.'s who cros the line in all units/district. It is the way they were raised, not the unit they are assigned to. Okay, maybe they were enticed by a co-worker to cross the line. But, it was in them to be deceptive.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Lt. JB. If he is doing bad things, that's a shocker to me. I looked up to him as a supervisor.

You want to talk about a real, documented crime????

How 'bout all these merit promotions? Look at some of their personnel files. What the hell did they do to qualify for merit?
Spend their whole career hidden and being taken care of?
Then called in the favor....
" Hey, can you have your guy nominate me...blah...blah...blah?"

Out these bastards!!!!

If they deserved it, they should be proud of it.
Everyone will know if they deserved it.
If they did not deserve it, they should hang their heads and collect that .45 a day in time due, and the bump in pay. Laugh while at the bank, but don't pretend "you" deserved it.

Look at todays Sun Times. Hit it right on the head.

Only 3 people get to call who makes Merit:
Mayor
Alderman
Superintendent

While some people are put in for by a Lt., Commander, etc. it needs to be approved by one of the big 3.

I know, I know.... The Supt, and Dept Supt. review the files and make a determination on who should get it.
"I'll vote for your guy, and you vote for mine" is probably the most common phrase of that meeting.

You want to see the biggest farce in merit promotions?

Look at OCD.

From Cronie on down.

They can’t help themselves, it is the way the system works.

I know guys who been busting their hump for 20+. They don't have a chance in hell, 'cuz they haven't been licking Lt./Commander/DC/etc.s balls to deserve the promotion.

For all of you who defend the bosses in SOS, ask yourself this. With so many people involved, how could they not have known what was going on? It is not just 2-3 rouge guys, but at least a dozen involved, and maybe more. I am not saying they should be indicted, but they either looked the other way, were complicit, or stupid. Either way, the exempts should be demoted and dumped, and the nonexempt should be dumped.

SCC, I'm probably in the minority as being an NPR listener but "848" had an interview with ex-Chicago Police officer Gina Gallo (listen here: http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/programs/848/848.asp)

Her interview (well, sphiel) didn't really sum up what it is to be a police officer for me. But maybe shed some light on the difficulties of the profession for typical NPR listeners (I'm not a typical listern, I'm still waiting for the return of Roe Conn & Garry Meier).

Anyways, in addition to that article in the Sun-Times today (06 Dec) that mentioned the merit process of promotion, I think you're the muse for all these rumblings in regards to the Dept.

So good job!

PS - Do people ever mention your site in passing? Like do folks as you if you read it? Do you secretly cream your jeans in regards to the popularity and/or power of your site?

Everytime I hear SOS I think of "SS", you know, the Nazis. Especially when it's coupled with words like "saturation" or "elite". Those uniforms are a disgrace to those who served in the armed forces too.

Anyways, I hope they get disbanded & some come to my district.

Why you ask? Because I just got me a portable DVD player & a subscription to Netflix.

Wait a sec, SCC!

Let me get this straight. In the Sun-Times article "City agrees to overhaul promotions system" it quotes Ron Huberman ALOT. Plus it's got him in the photo looking kinda touched in the head, like usual.

But isn't Huberman a textbook example of the merit process gone awry?!

PS - I hope he reads this site.

Their is about 5 or 6 foxy ladies workn the spot. They are out their all afternoon and all night. Why doesn't anybody from 009 or vice do anything about it?

Is 009 aware of the (2) 24hr greesy spoon joints on pershing. Late night and early morn, they are filled to the roof with non-licensed bangers and dope dealers from the ghetto. I picked up two different offenders wanted on felony warrants leaving there. I'm sure their are tons of guns in those pimped out rides but I "never" see the police doing anything about it. Wake up....That order has nothing to do with SOS or the problems that have happened.....

It has everything to do with the special report by NBC on response times in poorer areas and the supposed dispatcher who gave the annonymous interview about RAPS in the districts...

Patrol is getting shitted on because of SOS, it has everything to do with accountability and taking an hour on a disturbance and coding it '5F'....

No jagoff I don't work 1611, I don't even work in 016 but I do live there and appreciate working coppers. 016 gets ripped on for being lazy, dogasses etc etc. Alot of the people in 016 used to be in shit districts, they are very short manpower and do the best with what they have. The gang teams are permanently detailed to 015/025 everynight plus on the weekend they take an additional car from the district and send it to 015.
As far as the south side goes, it is a shithole from the word go, I work south and it blows, garcia ridge is gone, you are surrounded in Beverly-Mt.Greenwood, walking down Western ave. these days looks more like KIng Drive. It's funny everyone talks about the south side but more and more of you are moving north; and just so you know, I live on 1611's beat, it is NEVER manned by a new person and almost always 99, like most of the other cars. Again nice job last night, your fellow officers appreciate it!

I don't have time to point out his many grammatical and spelling errors but any 8th grade eductaed person could have a field day with that.

Its easy to diss 016 but there are hardworkers and dogs everywhere you go. Different districts, different work. 016 is a huge district geographically. Its not like 015 or even 011 where you cant drive down the street without seeing another squad.

to the clown who posted at 11:15 a.m. the guy who made the original post simply said nice job to the midnight guys. when did he ever say the words "heroic" ? you truly are a dumbfuck. i hate to break this to ya kid, but the city is not as dangerous as you guys think. tell me kid...are you in a foot chase every day during your tour ? i highly doubt it. are there still busy districts ? absolutely ! can bad shit happen to the police anywhere ? absolutely ! i've been to several southside districts... 007 ain't what it used to be. neither is 002. within the last 6 months, i've worked in 005, 007, 008, 009, 010, 021, 022. 010 IS busy as is 011 and 015. point being, the southside isn't the only place for being busy, but even the worst ghetto district isn't 10-1's and footchases all day/ night. i also know people in 011, and 015 who have never made so much as a single felony dope or gun arrest, but they love to tell stories of the fightin 011 and how they dance with the devil on a daily basis...ppuulleeaasseeeeee ! a guy takes his time to give an attaboy to a midnight car that actually did a good job in a slower district, and you can't just smile and think nice work by a fellow police officer(s)? you are probably the type who gets jealous when another officer gets a hot car or a gun arrest because you weren't involved. how would the police department survive without such a hard charger like you in its ranks. To the SOS personnel who are still there, still working, and trying to do so with a modicum of dignity, continue to do so. You are not judged by a number of assholes. Continue to hold your head high, and do a high caliber of policing. Eventually, this will pass. Do not allow yourself to wallow in the dirt that some of your co-workers chose to smother their scruples in. It will get better! Stay true to your oath, and continue to have faith in yourselves, and in God! This too shall pass....

God bless all the SOS officers and their families. Let the indicted ones have their day in court before bashing them. They are, after all, innocent until proven guilty.

It makes me sick to see and hear these guys getting bashed when no one knows the facts and has already convicted them.

I, for one, will never call them 'bad cops' -- they are all good cops but ones who may have made some mistakes.

And for all of you Anti-SOS people: Pull the moat from your own eye before going after the toothpick in theirs. You cackling pack of fucking hyenas!

sos bashers:

whether or not you may have needed a phone call to get in is immaterial now. that unit has carried the rest of the city number wise for years, without the district coppers help. district coppers hated sos way before this shit happened. funny how in some districts, when sos would pull up to the corner, the guys working the tip wouldn't even move. then they'd ask "what are you doing, handcuffing us?" when they'd get put in the squad car, they were awfully surprised. you know why?

because the lazy fuckin' district coppers didn't do shit, ever!!!!!

no one ever challenged them. no one ever did a damn thing to them. keep sleeping and watching dvd's on your little portable screen. if you think there was no supervision in sos, take a good hard look in the mirror first.

Hey 12/06/2006 11:02:23

I don’t see any superman or woman in SOS either! However, I do see a lot of clout babies in what was a nice soft unit. For 20+ years I have watched kids with two and three years on the job make their phone call and go to SOS. Lets be honest here, the great majority of P/O’s and all supervisors are in SOS because of who they know and not because of any kind of great police work. It seems now that the sh&%t that has been going on in SOS all these years has caught up with you people your pride is hurt because you are forced to recognize what kind of unit SOS really is and what kind of police officer you really are – ha! It is making my day to watch all you privileged babies’ scrambling to get out of SOS after having watched for so many years how people actually got into that unit.

P.S. Calling SOS or any other unit in the CPD, for that matter, elite is an insult to truly elite troops

to 12/06 9:57....you are a first class MORON...I'll let you in on a little secret my silly friend....I worked in SOS for many years and I also worked in 011 for many, many yeras....and before you open up your filthy uneducated pie hole let me tell you that SOS is NOTHING like it used to be...NOTHING...understand...I worked there when the entire unit had 140 coppers....and only 2 watch commanders and 1 commander....Not like it is today with 4 watch commanders and 20 Sgt's....we had mabye 10 Sgt's there and EVERYONE worked...everyone!! even the old timers!!! Yes there were clout people...obviously...but they worked! and there wasn't the shit that is going on today...Fred Bosse and John Baranowski...both forced to retire by a JAGOFF ADS...who thinks he is "the real police" had that place tight....you didn't fuck around...because you'd be gone! When ADS MT came around he fucked up that unit and brought in all of his little friends that he came on the job with and things got way blown out of proportion in a BIG way!!! the unit more than doubled in size and accountability is nonexistant....too many loose cannons there now....the old crew was the best...we were tight.. and you didn't have roberies happening like this...I know some of you will say what about John Labiak??? He was a piece of SHIT and went to jail...the other two coppers got caught up with him and had nothing to do with his deal...they were put into a bad situation not knowing what was happening at the time....and they got fucked...Ernie Hutchinson was one of the nicest guys you'd ever work with and Rodney Carriger was also a nice guy ...those guys went to jail for helping Labiak out on what they thought was a legit arrest and John knew it was not but didn't let them know what was going on...and furthermore....you mention district coppers doing nothing....well my little friend...011th district coppers are some of the best in the city and I am damn proud to say I was one of them too...comraderie like no other!! We had an excellent crew that would stand up against anyone out there...unit, district etc...we worked and worked damn hard...I have personally put hundreds of criminals in jail while I worked in 011...yes hundreds....I will put my arrest record up against anyone and don't have to brag about it like you...I am very happy and honored to have worked with some of the best and finest Chicago police officers on this job and I thank God every day for that. You need to shut your mouth and stop thinking that you're better than everyone...because one day you'll find out how much you need those "Lazy district coppers" when your ass is against the wall getting served...hope it never happens to you though...sincerely...and I hope you lose your twisted views and pompous attitude...I'd be the first one to help you brother...would you be there to help me...a district copper?? Think about what you say and how you act...you are not better than me and certainly are not a superhero....you may be younger, faster, but what I forgot...you'll never know...I'd still stand behind you and shed my blood for you...brother because that's what I do....I am a Chicago police officer. God Bless you.

Again nice job last night, your fellow officers appreciate it!

re: the SOS scandal, perhaps one of the largest (numbers-wise, anyway) scandals in recent CPD history....po's and sgt's are involved and/or held accountable; no lt's knew what was going on or took action? No Commanders (either current or former) are going to be held accountable either? And what about Phil?....when will a Supt say no to the politicians, disavow personal loyalty, and embrace employees who in fact are loyal to the ethics of the profession and to the highest standards of personal integrity and morality? Well, maybe the CPD gets its managers just as politics gets its candidates: third rate individuals, who remain from a group of otherwise outstanding individuals who won't participate in a corrupt system....

Believe it or not we at SOS are staying till 145 every day. At least on nights, thats 8 hrs 15 min by my watch, having started at 530pm. We are working the same amount as everyone else. It sucks but we will deal as everyone else in the city. You can blame whoever it was, I think in 11, when an officer got into some shit at 655 am and called a 10-1. No one showed up because the late cars were at breakfast and the early cars were waiting to check off. Correct me if I don't have the facts straight but its along those lines.

I am so very saddened to read all the horrible comments about fellow officers. Thank God you disparaging assholes are not my friends and I seriously don't see you being a loyal or real friend to anyone. All I see are people with low self esteem, not enough work to do and lacking fulfillment in their daily lives. We are all human beings and NONE of us can sincerely look in a mirror and say we are perfect without belmish or not guilty of any wrong doing. I read such anger an hatred, how ugly you people are that you have to toot your own praises and how awful that people have to defend where they work or how they work. Grow up people we all have faults, let us each and every one of us deal with our own misfortunes and misguided deeds, we don't need the choir preaching to us. If you have factual information to convey then do so, but stop talking crap and showing how low you would stoop to disparage one or several of our own brothers and sisters. It has been said before we are only as strong as the weakest link and there are a lot of wink links posting on this site. We need to stand strong and remain focused on the positive because negativity only promotes negativity. As officers we have undertaken a great responsibilty, not only the lives of others but our own and each other. Never forget we can't do our job alone sometimes we have to forgive a fellow officer for a mistake or make adjustments because someone works different or thinks differently. Forgive and forget for at one time or another we all need support from our own. We are all unique human beings, hopefully working towards the same goal, going home everyday and making the most of the days on this earth that we have to enjoy with our friends and family.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE AND GOD BLESS YOU.

Now the Austin 7 can no longer be called the biggest scandal in recent memory.
-----------------

SCC, i think you go too far with this one. "Pacman" wasn't just a Conservative Vice Lord gang member, but a nephew of one of the founders of the Conservative Vice Lord gang.

The unmentioned scandal of even allowing him ON the job, is bigger than SOS. Let alone the fact that he collected City paychecks while also being employed by an organized criminal group.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I did not hear that they fired any Gold Stars from that. I did not hear that any background investigators, or homeroom instructors, or any one in Personnal that knew who he was got fired with him.

CPD was infiltrated and coopted by a street gang. That still ranks higher than this SOS thing.

What saddens me is that all of those in the "upper echelon" of this Department and the SA Office are hounding the officers charged as well as the unit as a whole, overlooking those who supervised them. How can that be? How can a commander and a Lt. be aware of the amount of cr#'s these individuals were getting and tell them, keep doing what you are doing, and we will take care of the rest. (and yet they made them shine and one is now an ADS) How can phone calls be made demaning guns and drugs from these officers before their tour of duty was over. How can a Lt., bring an ASA into roll call essentially showing the guys in SOS that it was O.K what they were doing, and the ASA remain silent? How can this Lt. walk away from his dream team now? NO CONSCIOUS! How is it that this team of officers were not seperated long ago? So for all of those who think the supervisors should not go down, ask yourself this. If you were their supervisor would you have allowed them to stay together after all of the complaints? If so, where would you be now? Which leads me to, where are THEY now? If there is any truth to what these officers face, than they should do their time and be fired. HOWEVER, someone needs to open the door to an investigation into what really was going on in SOS during this time. What were officers told? What really went on behind the scenes to get a gun or dope during this time. It does not make illegal activity in this matter overlooked, but departmentally all white shirts should be looked at as well, otherwise what does that tell all of us P.O's???? By the way all those supervisors that touched every single cr# should be lookid into, you mean NO ONE down the chain thought this was obsessive??

Hey 12/07/2006 2:28:52, save the warm and fuzzy plattitudes for the tourists. The indicted officers are not merely a bunch of unlucky palookas who made a mistake, if the allegations are true, these officers are organized criminals who used the system to their adavantage for years, without any regard or esprit d'corp for the rest of us. Therefore, any P.O. who isn't stealing or dealing drugs should not give a FUCK about them, they obviously didn't care about us. The officers I feel bad about are the couple of hundred guys who are really being vicitmized by this scandal. The ones who are truly hard working guys who have collected 20+ C.R.'S over the last 5 years mostly from doing the job. These are the ones who, for mostly no fault of their own, have lost spots on Tact/Gang teams due to over-reactive and paranoid commanders, been placed on B.I.S. for no legitimate reason and have had their reputations sullied a bit. In this scandal alot more people than the accused are going to pay. I'm all for sticking together and maintaining the "Thin Blue Line", most of the Department rules are ridiculous, but you have to draw the line somewhere. The one major thing society can't stand is theiving cops--and that's what these people probably are. 2:28:52 I think you need to re-examine your priorities.

P.S.--------DISBAND T.R.U. AND PUT ALL THE SALTY 2 YEAR VETS BACK ON THE WATCHES, YOUR ACCOMPLISHING NOTHING GUYS, SORRY.

We have a jag of a wc on afternoons and midnights. We dont even get to work on our own stuff anymore. Between reverse missions, sweeps, prostitution mission, pod mission, sex offender checks. contact cards and dispersals, entering on own contact cards into the system, hotlines, and details it leaves us with barely anytime to do our own type of police work. Tact/gang is not what it used to be at least not in 007. We were warned dont leave until 15 after.

However, lets not forget the countless Officers who worked there in the past and currently who do a "thankless" job with honor. Just as many Officers do in districts and other units in the department. Lets never forget our Police Brothers and Sisters who lost their lives in the struggle to keep others safe. Stop the nonsense needless bashing, those who did wrong will be found out at some point. Its the ones who do the job right-- that need a boost in morale right now. I will cont to do my part by saying "hi" to fellow POs regardless of unit or district (baby -steps I know but it starts with courtesy).. Lets bring the comraderie back! In another racially charged case, Eric Holder, a Chicago police officer who is African-American, alleged that he was beaten while off duty on July 10, 1997 by white officers at the scene of a shooting, and that the beating took place despite Holder's identifying himself as an officer. Holder also alleged the officers, from the West Side's Austin District, yelled racial epithets at him. Holder claims that he was attempting to calm the shooting victim's brother when officers told him to leave the scene; when he responded that he was an officer and was taking the man to see his brother at the hospital, the officers reportedly took offense, pushed him to the hood of a patrol car, and hit him. When he fell to the ground, Holder claims he was dragged nearby and beaten with batons and flashlights. The officers reportedly told him, "You're not one of us." Several neighborhood residents reportedly confirmed Holder's account.Holder was arrested and charged with battery and resisting arrest; he told reporters that he was not surprised by the charges, since officers involved in altercations usually charge the individual involved, even when the officers are the aggressors. The violence inflicted by rogue officers has the added quality of being a betrayal of public trust: protectors reveal themselves to be predators. The impact of that betrayal is greatly compounded by the failure of the police department to discipline rogue officers. Precisely because the institution does not hold them accountable for their crimes, they come to embody the institution for their victims. Again, this is not corrected by the good police work of other officers. For the message conveyed by the institutional failure to hold abusive officers accountable is that they are indeed “the real police.”

Imagine what it would be like to live under such a cruel, arbitrary regime. To be vulnerable at any moment to having violent men invade your home, verbally and physically abuse you and your children, then deny it ever happened. To be subject to being falsely accused by them of crimes you did not commit and convicted on the basis of fabricated evidence. To live from day to day with the fear their presence—the mere sight of them—provokes. To know there is no meaningful avenue for redress open to you, no responsive authority to which you can appeal for relief. The hell with these corrupt SOB's

I know a stand up PO, A.B. who got f*cked by the racial nonsense in that Eric Holder case. Total bulls*it.

Since Holder was going to get f*cked, so did he.

Joseph Miedzianowski, whom prosecutors called the most corrupt cop in the city's history was charged with racketeering in that he used his badge to run a Miami-to-Chicago drug ring. Wasn't he assigned to S.O.S.

No he was a Gang Specialist(equivalant to a detective for you new wonders out there)

P.S.--------DISBAND T.R.U. AND PUT ALL THE SALTY 2 YEAR VETS BACK ON THE WATCHES, YOUR ACCOMPLISHING NOTHING GUYS, SORRY

PSS..... Acomplishing nothing? not so sure about that, they fill their court keys for ot like most other working guys that need the extra money, the city is their oyster, no boundaries, they eat well, they enjoy the perks of the unit- no radio jobs, free to make their own day. The DOC meeting's I attend all talk well of the work they do, bosses are happy, the troops are kept happy, doesn't seem like a hard concept to grasp.
It just sounds like more jealousy.

you sound like a boss (BA?). the key phrase in your statement is "the troops are kept happy." That doesn't happen at the district level any more. If the troops were "kept happy" like they used to be, before mr accountability (wonder how much time he has on the books?), there wouldn't be a morale problem.

Hey TRU Believer 11:04:19,
The TRU personnel fills out their court keys? What is that TWO (2) court dates a month? A WHOLE SIX (6) hours of O.T. per period? Gosh you guys are great...your right up there in O.T. with a working Area 1 Dic.... NOT. I don't see a lot of TRU personnel at 26th/CAL., just the usual suspects of Dics and ghetto coppers. As far as jealousy goes, why don't you re-examine your self esteem issues, because it sounds like you WISH the rest of us were jealous of your "wanna be" unit when you make an accusation like that. The only WISHING I am doing is that your Dad hugged you more when you were a kid so you wouldn't be such a schmuck 30 years later.
Justifying your exsistence by referring to the pleasure your unit's production gives the exempts doesn't belong on SCC, that's like having an AA meeting at the old Ira's, it's not a good fit. You probably should be posting your comments on www.asskisser.blogspot.com or www.Iloveyoumayordaley.blogspot.com.
Remember, the majority of your unit's production is locking up people for some pretty minor misdemeanor offenses, (i.e. locking up a hype for a crack pipe, some 17 year old for a .5 gram bag of weeed or the ubiquitous 55 year old for D.O.P.W.) The brass loves those arrests because there's not a lot problems behind that C.B. number (like C.R.'S) and it still counts as an arrest. So, therefore, they're playing you like a fiddle, errand boy, think about that during your two hour lunch at Pompeii before you head to 007 and make that pimpy arrest. The reward legitimate guys in SOS and various Tact/Gang teams, citywide, got for doing the job the right way was 20+ C.R.'s, over the last 5 years, and a trip to the B.I.S. Good solid police work scares the new breed of boss. All those B.S. pinches you make are still not serving any purpose in the grand scheme of things.
However, I'm not posting to trade insults with you. Let me tell you something, call this a speculation, but sometime around 2003 or so, Mayor Daley and Phil Cline were probably having some sort of discussion pertaining to the police department, Cline probably says we need to beef up manpower by 500-1000 P.O.'s beyond the rate of attrition. Daley probably answered with a "not gonna happen". So what does Cline do? He invents the TRU unit based on the perceived success of the Jump Out Boys which saps the manpower out the already strapped districts with the intention of deploying them in high crime areas. Perfect solution right? WRONG! Alot of experience guys bailed of TRU out because it turned to be B.S. leaving it full of cocky Newtimers thinking they are the real police and creating so many backlogs in busy disctricts that some disgruntled dispatcher is bitching about these RAPS on the news, which puts more of us in the spotlight (enjoy the 2 hour lunch on Taylor street while it lasts). TRU turned out to create problems, not alleviate them. It's not jealousy brother, your probably a decent guy, you just need to be on a beat car, somewhere, where you belong so everyone can get a bit of a break and not just the guys in your dumb little unit.
Remember sticking together? Well, what about being considerate of the greater good of us all?
And if there is any wasteful unit in this city it's your...SOS has some special training (like SWAT) so they grudgingly serve a purpose. Something's gotta give and I think it should be TRU.

P.S. SCC IS RIGHT...SPLIT, ELIMINATE OR CONSOLIDATE THE FOLLOWING: 001, 002, 006, 008, 012, 013, 014, 017, 019, 020, 021 AND 023. C'MON MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL THE DISCTRICT MAP IS ALMOST 50 YEARS OLD...TIMES CHANGE PEOPLE.

In another racially charged case, Eric Holder, a Chicago police officer who is African-American, alleged that he was beaten while off duty on July 10, 1997 by white officers at the scene of a shooting, and that the beating took place despite Holder's identifying himself as an officer. Holder also alleged the officers, from the West Side's Austin District, yelled racial epithets at him

I was there, get your facts straight or shut the fu*k up!
