First "Tank" gets the gun charges. Now his "bodyguard" gets greased in a night club? We realize that a lot of these guys are inches away from being felons in any other profession and many times are committing what can be generously called legalized assault on the playing field, but this is becoming a bit more than a distraction.- Troubled Chicago Bears nose tackle Tank Johnson is cooperating with police investigating the fatal shooting of his friend inside a nightclub, authorities said Saturday.
Police talked to Johnson at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where Willie B. Posey was pronounced dead early Saturday morning, and planned to speak with him again later Saturday, said Chicago Police Superintendent Phil Cline.
Posey, 26, died after a fight inside Ice Bar, a club in the city's trendy River North neighborhood, Cline said.

Billy Williams, one of the greatest baseball players this city has ever seen had his insurance brokerage business in the shadows of wrigley field and sold cars in the off season to make ends meet.
Walter Payton, a gentleman until the very end, would complete a play, leap to his feet and jog out of his way to hand the ball to the field officials..Last week in a game I saw the official approaching a player after a play with his hands out-stretched to get the ball. At which time, M/1/shithead player gets up and underhands the ball behind himself, and to the ground, away from the official. This made the official have to go fetch the ball. Real class act, if in the ghetto and NOT making 7 figure salary!
The saddest part is this player today couldn't carry Walter Paytons "Jock-strap", but he makes more in bonuses then Walter made in his best year playing!
SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE!

I would rather watch ARMY/Navy/Air Force football or basketball any day..sure they suck..but they are all fine young role models who will EARN a meaningful college degree (not some bullshit B.A. degree in leisure studies or a B.S. in Study Hall science)and be productive members of society!

The Romans ensured there was even a code of conduct for these mopes who fought to the death for the entertainment of the masses. Perhaps the NFL should research Gibbons "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" to establish a similar code of conduct. Oh well, we know it won't happen. Jesse the Jag or some other race baiter will claim its prejudicial to the black man to establish any type of civilized behavior. I myself will sit back this Sunday afternoon and enjoy a good James Patterson novel thereby not wasting my time watching these fools.

You are 100% correct Walter Payton was an idol growing up for many of us. The best ever in many peoples eyes including mine. Many of the guys playing today are a dam disgrace making a ton of money.

There are a couple of ways to stop this.
#1 When an athlete commits a crime like traffic, misdemeanor, etc...do NOT give him a break. Threat him like every other piece of $hit out there. No more preferential treatment. Stop looking at these guys as "GODS" because they are NOT!
#2 Stop going to the games and watching them on T.V.
No revenue=No pay. If you don't buy things, they won't be able to pay these idiots all the money they are paying them now. We deserve more money than these guys. We work harder and actually provide a service.
#3 Search them and their vehicles during ALL traffic stops. Just because they are athletes does not give them the right to possess weapons of any kind. If they are found to be in possession of a weapon, arrest them and impound their vehicle. Who cares if it hurts any chance of being "World Champions". I would rather be able to go home to my family at night then have one of these mutts decide that they are above the law and shot at someone they feel threatened by and hit me.

I have a question......on the news today I heard that this Posey guy was such a "close" friend to Tank that Tank had Poseys' picture tattooed on him.
Now I don't know about you guys but I have a couple of close friends but I never wanted their pictures tatooed on my body. What's with these two guys? Does anybody else think that something "fishy" might be happening here?
People are asking why these two were dumb enough to go out clubbing the night after they were the biggest story in the city. Could these two be an "item" and maybe One wanted to go out and the Other didn't so the One threatened to out them?
