What Time is it Boys and Girls?

Why, it's time to turn in all those weapons!
  • Chicago police said Saturday afternoon they had already collected more than 500 guns in a citywide gun turn-in. More than a dozen churches were serving as collection sites where people could turn in guns anonymously and with no questions asked.
We don't know. With the homicide rate allegedly increasing, wouldn't people be more inclined to keep their weapons? Just a thought.

Yeah that jagbag Phleger was on the news telling everyone how they are not safer in their home with guns, but in more danger.

Tell that to the lady in Waukegan who was home invaded by the kid with the shotgun, if she didn't have a gun and was able to blow him away she would have been dead for sure; or the guy from Wilmette who surprised a burglar in his home and defended his family and home. Phleger is a douchebag liberal who knows nothing about guns or personal defense, he aught to look at stats before he opens up his piehole.

Yeah, just dis-arm the good citizens and make them sheep.. The terrorists (local thugs) are just waiting to jump on them. Bad idea. Guns for cash? How about Concealed Carry? It makes a safer environment. It would be nice to find a dead drug dealer or gangbanger than an mere bystander in the right place at the wrong time. This city is a joke. Why not make is legal to kill gangbangers? OR take pot shots at their homies?

I saw some break open revolvers mixed in with the guns shown. Some of those guns were worth more than the amount they were given. What a waste.

My math says that 500 Guns @ $50.00 equals $25,000.00. Okay tell me please, who paid the cash to these thieves, burglars and assorted slimeballs for the guns? Let me guess, the taxpayers got ripped off again.

Of course most of the garbage guns were not worth $50.00 and now these people using this system to fence their guns can buy better guns. This is such a great country, isn’t it?

You can bet your ass that these are going to be used in some kind of yearly tally for guns "recovered" lol. And the worst part is that the people turning them in are the people you would want to have guns, and are probably the ones who needed them as well.

To TheHatLives 12/17/2006 12:25:39 AM:

I once saw a mint pre WWII, German Navy officer's Luger "found and recovered". MINT! It was probably grandpa's war trophy.

My mouth watered.... it could have EASILY fetched over $12,000 from a dealer or gun show.

I wanted to bitch slap the officer who "found" it and inventoried it as a "Ruger"! A small piece of history gone and melted.... sigh...

those stupid motherf#$&ers!

Did you see that cherry 1903 Springfield rifle that got turned in with all the usual dregs such as lorcin .380's, etc.

Yup, Ritchie is going to burn it too. A perfectly fine target rifle that has ZERO chance of being used in a crime. The anti-gun crew just fleeced some little old lady out of 500-600 dollars, giving her 50 bucks for a nice rifle. Daley is thrilled to death.

Good going Phleger you child molester, pot smoking man of the cloth!

You can go to the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program website and lay out several hundred dollars for a similar rifle. Yeah it was designed as a battlefield implement, but in a competant marksman's hands, it is an awfully nice target rifle.

I can't imagine that the bangers would know much of how to set the elevation on the rear ladder sites.....

Of course, to learn to shoot it; you gotta get in your car and go to Bristol or Ottawa to shoot it.

This city just makes my skin crawl!

The Gun Buy Back was financed by company donations that were afraid to advertise who they were because of the NRA. At least one of those guns turned in saved a life. This time of year death by suicide increases by 30 times. Can you count? How can you say saving a gun that is worth more than $50.00 is worth loosing a life. You are an ignorant unitelligent idiot! Thanks Vance Henry, Dana Starks, Phil Cline, Father Pfleger, Monique Bond and all the other people I did not know from that press conference. It really made a difference in this city and you may have even saved a coppers life. Do you have anything nice to say? I do, thank you all and all the police that made that day a success for the police, Mayor Daley and especially the citizens of Chicago.

-----------
Those "sponsors" are cowards. If they REALLY thought that they were doing the right thing, then why be afraid?
