As to the recent suggestions of a "work action," we merely remind our readers what the regulars already know - advocating, promoting, or taking part in any organized job action is a violation of Department Orders and grounds for immediate termination proceedings. Now if everyone did it, do we think the city would try to start any sort of disciplinary proceedings? We highly doubt it - BUT does anyone really think that someone could ever rally even a third of officers to back such an action? We don't.
Just be careful to whom you venture these opinions to. An anonymous website is one thing. Expressing it in the station where there might be ears is another.

They place dude in cuffs, put the boots to him after he resists then they find out he is 501 and want nothing to do with him. Left no less than 5 cars down holding the bag with paper car, transport car, another taking victims to hospital, car doing arrest and another helping with the 501, and yet another taking offender to hospital. Unbelievable...
A ticket blitz would play right into the laughing Daley's greedy hands for REVENUE. Heavyweights, V.I.P.s, brass, etc. would be non-suited.
Off-duty NYPD successfully protested and made their point by blocking off the Brooklyn Bridge during rush hour.
How about blocking the intersection of Pearson St. and Michigan Ave. outside Water Tower Place on a busy shopping Saturday? Then march south to the Tribune Tower with bullhorns and signs.

In the first place, slavery was a legal trade in America and many other countries around the world. Second, the slave trade has been a fact for many years, and not just blacks were put into slavery. The Romans had a huge slave trade and many whites were put into slavery; there were many white slaves here in America. There is slavery in Africa today, yet I see no American blacks demanding this stop.
Are we to just throw history out because of political correctness?
As to an apology for slavery, I have never heard an apology from African black tribes that went out and rounded up other blacks from different tribes and sold them to the slave traders for profit. I have never heard any black in this country say thank you to the families of the 400,000 white men who died on the battlefields of the Civil War, supposedly for the reason of freeing the slaves.
So, because of the historical facts above, I too say ''get over it,'' and really, I am sick and tired of this political extortion.

Area 5 is undergoing some bandaid treatment for the humpback fly infestation and the toxic mold problem. New ceiling tiles are being installed during the daytime. The workers who are installing the tiles wear masks. The detectives are not provided this luxury. There is alot of debri flying in the air and laying on the ground. Our union has protested vehimently to no avail, sounds similar to contract negotiations. I am spitting blood and have a strong cough. I don't think I'll last much longer. The medical section told me that I have to prove that this is caused by the toxic mold and not a pre-existing condition. I think I'm dying now! Farewell city and my beloved union. May God have mercy on you for I will not. In my ghostly form I am coming back in the form of Johnny Cochrane. The department will promote me over and over until I reach the pinnacle of my life. My salary will be substantial enough for me to afford a vacation home so I can spend alot of time away from this city. I will have a nice office without insect infestations and mold problems. I will have a city car to take home so that I can save on maintenance and gas costs. I will have a blackberry which will save me money on cell phones or pagers. Finally, I will tell everyone that I made it legit because I studied and I am smart. What a life? Believe it or not it does happen.

Very enlightening post! Thank You. I do believe we can initiate an attention getter to the city and the Department. A ticket blitz would be exactly what they want. A slowdown however, does not generate revenue. There is not one city agency that is utilized to generate revenue the way the Police Department is. Perhaps a former poster has the right idea, no revenue for the week of Valentine's Day. This can be done discreetly through roll call conversations between the officers. I was on the job when King Richard was a new Mayor and would not negotiate a contract with us. We used this tactic and it worked. We unseated a Judge and we picketed a National Labor Leader while Daley hosted him. We are much stronger than we think.

Shit, tru unit is even worse. Green & black mold spores breeding on the 6th floor from the 3" of standing water. Knocking years off the lives of every officer. Maybe officers feeling really shitty isnt just from the "no" parking situation, it may have something to do with the mold conditions.

For all those who remember the 025th District Gallows Newsletter(forerunner to internet blogs like this) in the 1990's remember old "LT. BLINKY". He was stripped of his police powers yesterday and escorted out of the station.
He has been working in 015 the last few years on 2nd watch. It seems he has slowly been cracking over the past few years and has had several sexual harassment complaints put on him over the past year. Many feel that the beefs are bullshit, however this guy had it coming as he is one of the largest Jag-Offs in the department.
In other words.. If you are a stroke to people, especially officers of the opposite sex, you should realize they will be more than willing to lye about a 'sexual harassment' occurrence to screw you over.
In memory of old 'Blinky' .. those who remember him should share in their stories of his total wackiness.. from him getting a CR number on the Director of Finance because his paycheck was 25 cents short to insisting a Case Report be made because a news helicopter was hovering around Cicero and Fullerton.

you do not need 100% cooperation for a slow down. A 50% slow down from the districts had them shittting in their pants in the late 80's and that was b4 the internet offered anominity. They threated the leaders with immidiate firing etc. Screw them, every one just stop writing any discretionary revenue violations on the 1st of Feb. Leave those that choose to continue to write alone so you don't drive a wedge between the ranks. This of course will change nothing on the patrol level Starks will still be an idiot and Phil will still be king richards lackey, but it will hurt them where it counts. It isn't like they can cut much more from the patrol division anyway. What are they going to do cut your overtime ? That is 002. And, nice try. A copper wrote a bunch of bosses back in the late 90's around contract time. He had a ton of time on the job, so they couldn't dump him or mess with his watch...insteasd they psyched him. He's still off the job. Is it really worth it? By the time you fight to get back on the job, you and your cause are long forgotten...that is why the UNION is SUPPOSSED TO FIGHT FOR YOU. When people ask me if we have a union, I reply...not really.
I spoke to a Streets & Sans truck driver today. She told me that it is common knowledge that the Police Dept will not ticket them.
Also according to her the word came from the Hall that Daley is pissed at Fire and Police. Directing S&S tow drivers to tow any Police vehicles that are parked illegally.
When asked about towing she mentioned to me that Traffic Management(OEMC), Ward offices, and private contractors are authorized to tow in the city.
The next part threw me. She said if she was the police she'd be looking for the tow trucks. Pointing out to me that according to State law tow trucks must have certain equipment on them. Shovel, Fire suppression equipment, sand etc. She also said that no city tow drivers have all the required equipment.
Way to go FOP and Fire Union!!!

FYI... It was 8 parked cars. No Police chase. G.P.S. verifiable.
The pussy midget "new" cops were too scared to cuff the gang banger. No boots involved. All injuries sustained due to gang bangers vehicle crashing into victims vehicle and head on into parked cars then flipping onto side. Gang banger was not wearing his seat belt. If you had more than 2 yrs. on the job you'd realize that.

Could it be true? Blinky Flynn gone.
Blinky was instrumental in me being forced to leave the job. Blinky gathered up several copies of new issues of the gallows one day and sent to the crime lab for prints. My thumb print was found on 9 copies. The Dept then saw fit to dig up a 12 year old IOD, placed me on reocurring IOD until time ran out. The pension board denied duty related disability as well as non duty related disability. The Dept refused to allow me back on the job. F.O.P. did nothing for me. After many months of no income and paying a small fortune to the City for health insurance and with advice from my personal lawyer I took my pension. It was obvious that the powers to be were trying to either financially break me or force me off the job. A person on the pension board told my lawyer that doing the 025 Gallows was the cause of my problems. Blinky may you rot in hell.
Would I do the Gallows again? You betcha. Guys ask me if I miss the job. No I don't miss the circus, I miss some of the clowns, but I don't miss the circus.
All in all, pension is the best thing that ever happened to me.

I see all the comments about worthless bosses, let me tell you about my experience. We have a new Captain, Captain Alberta Raymond in 003. Her name should be Albert because she looks more like a fucking man or a beast.
How was she promoted Clein? She has the worst attitude that I have seen on any boss. She does not have the brains to lead or direct. She has her own midnight covert team of puppets, who do what she says no matter how stupid it is.
How many times does she have to curse out the men in blue and in white. Will you be happy when someone finally knocks the fuck out of her?
This is her second time in 003 since I have been here. She cursed Commander Brown out and she was rewarded by being given a Commanding Officers position in Housing. She belittled and cursed P.O.'s out on a daily basis then and now, and the other day as we were going through shift change, that shit head cursed out 2 policeMEN who were searching a car in the garage to make sure it was thoroughly searched in the rigid cold, trying to do there job, she tells them she does not give a fuck what they were doing (those exact words). She told them to get the offender's car the fuck out of there so she could put her personal car in the garage. What a fucking joke for a boss.
She is disrespectful to men, women, sergeants, lieutenants and the Commander. She does not care. She tells everyone how much of a punk he is and how she runs her watch. I can honestly say she treats everyone the same, fucked up.
Commander Franklin get some fucking balls and Deputy Superintendnet Williams get on your job. I'm sure you have heard all the facts about her. How many more people does she have to make feel like shit to prove she is the head man in charge.

Hey asshat, were you even there? I personally transported dude and can assure you any injury he had was from the fucken roll over and nothing more. Dude was an asshole at the station and at the hospital refusing any treatment and telling staff to go fuck themselves, which is what you can do. As someone stated earlier, watch what you say on a public blog, thats the last thing we need is more negative press.

The Gallows was the funniest shit I ever saw on paper. After working for "Captain So-Stupid" in 011 for a couple years, I nearly pee'd my pants reading all the dumb shit he did in 025. And the stuff about "Waynbo" was classic!

For the record, I asked my chain of command to allow me to return to a beat car, because I was missing the adrenaline rush I would get answering in-progress calls and racing to an officer in need of help...Unlike you, I enjoy answering calls on the radio.
As a Captain, I commanded troops deep in the mountains of Afghanistan. We survived on the bare minimum and we accomplished incredible missions. Our enemy was a formidable force comprised of al Qaeda insurgents, warlords and Taliban sympathizers. For almost the entire combat tour we lived as the indigenous people we were training lived. We literally adapted to our harsh environment and learned to accept sleep and food deprivation. Missions day and night continued despite immense odds. We encountered much opposition and sickness in our travels. No matter what happened, we pulled through as a cohesive unit-a TEAM.
Many of you "B" team officers stated in previous blogs that I know nothing of teamwork?
All my adult life I have been conditioned to be a team player. Being a team member requires commitment and discipline. Anybody who has ever worked with me will admit I always ensured their safety. Like me or hate me, officers ALWAYS know I have their back.
My skills of being a team builder come from many years of Army service and law enforcement. Ex. I have worked for Capt. Raymond, and she is very hardworking, takes no excuses for screwing up. She expects your best and gives no less of herself. Lucky for you she holds no grudges and doesn't use her position to make anyones job harder. She is by the book and so should you if you know whats good for you. It was funny to read what they said about Sgt. D.W. I did not know that, but after asking around, I found out it was very true. I'm not sure what white hoods you are referring to since as far as I know, blacks don't like her either. They think she is a sorry excuse for a woman in power.
Let me just tell you this, they have started documenting her actions. It is actually kind of late for her to try to change her ignorance and stupidity. A few Sergeants and another Captain are supporting these allegations. It is quite embarrassing that the Commander who we all thought represented everyone, was too scared to intervene because he is afraid of what may happen later when he tries to make it out of 003.
Clein please take the time to make some things right with this department before you leave. You have actually brought us up from the dinasour years into the 21st century. We are praying you address legitimate concerns and the lives of everyday police men and women before you leave, and start your new journey in life.
My last request is this, I love the 003rd District and I do not want to leave. I do have enough clout and time to leave, but the location etc., fits for my family, schools and my business. Clein, please stop making this a dumping ground for stupid bosses and fucked up P.O.'s. You do sometimes send us excellent bosses and P.O.'s (WE HAVE QUITE A FEW NOW), but they are stuck working with the stupid Captains and an even stupider Commander. At least Commander Brown and Dep.
