Chilling Reminder

We hate to point this out, especially in light of the recent articles about the very poor clearance rate posted by the Department in past days, but this is depressing:
  • The murders of two suburban police officers late last year remain unsolved.

On Sept. 27, 2006, Metra Police Officer Thomas Cook was shot in the back of the head while keeping watch over a train station in south suburban Harvey.

  • On Oct. 23, 2006, Maywood Police Officer Thomas Wood was shot several times in the head as he sat in his police sport utility vehicle. His police dog, a Malinois shepherd, was unharmed.
One would hope that all murders are solved. One would expect that all murders of police officers, whether on or off duty would be solved, too. But the fact remains that many times (and in recent years, a majority of the time) murders go unsolved. And there was a study years ago that said when there was no progress within 72 hours, the chances of a homicide being solved dropped precipitously.

We heard that the west side is crawling with police from all over the city: Tact teams, Gang teams, Specialized Units, Detectives, even a few hundred recruits beating the bushes for evidence. Keep it up boys and girls - someone somewhere knows something. Find them.

The reward is up to $21,000 according to Channel 7.

Word is that in both cases of the officers being murder they know who did it and are having a problem proving it or at least getting enough for probably cause to arrest.

Not in this fucked up state. When I was a kid I feared the Police. Now this is happening because liberal politicians are letting it.

I hope the families of my slain brothers go after the cities and state. The only way a slime bag politician listenes is when it costs them money.

Police Tuesday identified the gunman accused in Monday night's Trolley Square shooting as Sulejman Talovic, an 18-year-old Bosnian MUSLIM refugee who lived in Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank said Talovic drove his car to the mall, parked in the west parking terrace and encountered two people who he shot before entering the mall.
There, he encountered a female who also was shot right away, then went into a gift shop where there were five people, all of whom the young man shot. Moving through the mall, the gunman tried to shoot others, Burbank said. The chief said he could not say now how many shots were involved in the entire episode.
Burbank praised an unnamed Ogden police officer who took action at the mall to intervene in the incident, and praised the many law enforcement and other agencies that responded quickly and professionally to the crisis.
Until Salt Lake police arrived, it was "basically a shoot-out between the Ogden individual and this individual," Burbank said.
"As you can see, this individual was well-prepared," Burbank said, apparently referring to the young man's backpack filled with ammunition "He had one purpose."
Six individuals died and four others were hospitalized. Currently, four Salt Lake City police officers are on administrative leave, as is the Ogden police officer.
"This is something in our community that is really unheard of," Burbank said.

Why can't the police memorial, credit union and FOP have funds set aside for rewards that can be applied for such matters? The reward should be $100,000 to start with options for the big corporations based her in Chicago to kick in more. Remember $5 a pay period adds up if everyone donates. May his family find peace and God bless all police.

What happened to the days when one of our own who was beat-up, shot at, shot, stabbed, killed would bring down the wrath of the Police Dept.

Every swinging dick walking the street got tuned-up and eventually someone gave up the bad guy just to take the heat off the street.

My condolences to the families of these fallen officers.

Other than being Murdered in Predominantly Black Suburbs, probably not. But if our predecessors weren't rubberhosing suspects & conducting horseshit investigations we wouldn't be where we're @ now. You can boo hoo all you want, but law enforcement is paying for past transgressions NOW!!

Here's an unpopular spin on this murder of a Chicago Police Officer. Anyone look into his past in SOS? Reports of an "argument" prior to the shot being heard. Arguing with an armed robbery offender? Argue with someone you know, not a stranger. The neighbor who heard the shot then called PO Vazquez's wife, not 9-1-1. The more on hear about the reports coming out, my fears are worsening. The Detectives odered a "swab" on "someone in the house". I'm on CW 2 all the time so I heard the request. Is this an unusual thing to do? I won't say what i'm thinking here, but most will understand the implication i'm making here. If this is the case, you may not have to look too far away to "clear" this case.

In light of all this. We must remEMber that our Brother Jose has been done an extreme un-justice. We must take revenge on every & all criminals. No one should be safe, except the real innocent. We know who they are & who the real bad guys/girls are. If you knew Jose, you know he really is a nice guy & a great person. The fucking piece of shit that did this should not go to trial. He is guilty & should be exicited by us. We all knoW saturating the area may or may not help. But if by chance one of us find the real killer. Do not let him go to trial. We should give him the same courtesy as he did Jose. Have you ever seen Jose smile? I have. HaVe you ever talked to Jose? I have. It was when he was just a brilliant PPO. Such a nice guy. What is a nice guy like you doing on a job where no one appreciates you? Why? I said. I just want to help the real people that want to lead a good life. And that's just what he did. He put away bad guys. Just like most of us do on a daily basis. We pUt our whole lives on the line for this job. Family, marriage, and all the other things we miss out on because we "HAVE" to work. Most of the time we want to. But as this job of ours goes on, Society, with the help of our city, Ball-less Bosses, & Politicians, they are binding our hands & not letting us be " THE POLICE". Go to Hell Bosses and the City Officials. Jose is an Angel. God Bless! Semper Fidelis!
