Council Shakeup?
Since aldercreatures need a "50% plus one" to win, we're looking an a number of runoff elections on 17 April that could change quite a bit of the make up of the City Council. We have always been an advocate of "any change is good," especially in the case of Chicago and Crook County politics. Some of the races we're watching with interest:
- Natarus - out!
- Troutman - out!
- Beavers (the offspring) - out!
Beavers lost to Mrs. Jesse Jr. Another political dynasty continues.
And trailing (in some cases trailing badly) and facing runoff elections:

- Madeline Haithcock, Dorothy Tillman, Shirley Coleman, Howard Brookins, Michael Chandler, Ted Matlak, Rey Colon and Vi Daley.
Of course, a couple of these might shake out before sun rise, but it's always good to see some of these leeches sweat a little. Hopefully a few are unemployed by morning.

I was sad to see Markham got trounced in the 41st ( as did Chuck Maida out south ).
At least they both earned several thousand votes, and hopefully made their rivals think a bit. I'm assuming that the majority of their votes came from police families.
I can't speak for what's going on out south, but up here in Norwood Park, I can tell you that all the coppers and firemen that I know who live here said it was time for change. Too bad not everybody got the message.

hey, how about da mare, rolling again to a great victory? With about 1/3 of the registered voters even bothering to vote, da mare got about 71/72%, give or take. So...72% of 1/3 is about 23% of all registered voters, meaning that 77% either voted for someone else, or did not vote at all. A mandate, I say!

It's a shame, the 7th ward was caught between a rock and a hard place. The jackson's are as bad, if not worse than the daley's. The vote wasn't FOR Jackson but AGAINST William Beavers.

Did anyone notice the two wards which turned out the greatest number of votes in the City for Da Mar'? First place, 19th Ward (22nd District). Second place, 41st Ward (16th District). The 23rd Ward (8th District) was number five. Maybe the police, firefighters, and other City workers secretly love Richie. Hmmmm...
I know there weren't any real choices in that race, other than to cast a blank ballot.

If, by some chance (equal to the chance of hitting the lottery) the next supt. is a person of intellect, integrity, political independence, morality, competence, and experience (police-wise, that is), does one think that Daley would select that person? You might have lost the race, Don, but you gained a whole lot of political stature in the process!
You ran a clean campaign, no mudslinging, and lots of people were impressed with how you managed to gain the support you did so quickly, with so little money to do it with. It did not go unnoticed. Although you still have a great job to return to when furlo ends, your political future is going to grow by leaps & bounds. A man of integrity (and NOT a merit Sgt., although a few people have chosen to perpetrate that lie), someone who voters of various ethnicities can relate to, a rarity in this polarized City.
You've got a great future ahead of you. Just stay the way you are. Markham will always be a winner in my book.

The answer is we will look into your request. I've been waiting 10 years for some of my requests. Street lights out, I called Ginger's office. 3 months later nothing. Called Streets and Sans and it was taken care of within 2 days. She is as worthless as tits on a bull. But I do have to admit she had all of Bevely north of 95th and east of Western installed with cul-de-sacs. That was a great feat. That will be her legacy.

She is a crimianl, plain and simple, she does nothing for the Mt Greenwood area except get people fed,city and county work in return for political work. One person commented on city services he has requested, I am in the same boat along with a lot of others in our area we make request and it never gets done..As for precint Capt's look at what they do for a living I would gurantee everyone of them has a county or city job courtsey of Ginger...People voted for her because they were scared they would lose jobs or future promotions...
