Oh Please, Let This Come True

  • Second Ward Ald. Madeline Haithcock might need a little luck at the polls tomorrow. Despite endorsements by Congressman Bobby Rush and Mayor Richard M. Daley, two well-financed opponents seem to be making a race of it.

At the eleventh hour, attorney David Askew is calling as many voters as he can, reminding them that both the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times have endorsed him. He's also accusing Haithcock of paying too much attention to the new super high rise development corridor in the South Loop, and not enough on the hard scrabble neighborhoods on the West Side.
This is the hater who wants to name streets after those who advocate murdering police officers. We know a lot of city workers have been moving into her ward in the past few years as the Western Avenue corridor gentrifies. Anyone who can cast votes against this particularly low class aldercreature really ought to.

AND DON'T FORGET!! It's Election Day Vote early, vote often, but vote.

Just voted for Patrick J. Fitzgerald for Mayor. I know it was a throw away vote, but I could never vote for one of those 3 stooges.

I wonder if anyone else voted for him or Rudy G.

Why would you want to vote for Fitzgerald -- he's just another lawyer, right? And we HATE lawyers on this site. And Rudy G.? Are you kidding me? That goof was a horrible mayor -- the crap he pulled with NYPD is why we have CAPS and the DOC. Cline just copied what NY did. You guys are so misguided it's not even funny. You are so confident that your candidate is going to "shape things up" but when it doesn't happen you turn on your former golden boys. If you know nothing about politics, do us a favor and stay home -- DON'T VOTE!

Remember to vote out that useless Banks in the 36th ward. He only cares about that small section of Galewood and his relatives building those condos and townhomes.

Whoever wrote that coded message on checkboard chat reaally ticked them off....

Are We For Real. . . or What?
Well, I guess we are "official"! We've gotten hate mail, coded messages. . . the works! It's funny, though. I thought that the biggest critics would be the so-called "unappreciative public" or even the "unscrupulous media". HA! WRONG!!

If you haven't taken the time to really check us out, I'll simply remind you that we ARE "of, by and for the Police". The REAL police, not the clout-heavy police, not the "whining" police--the every day copper who straps on a duty-belt, gets in a squad and does the job. If you think the site is all BS or propaganda or whatever, do me a favor and don't use it. This site has been created to get factual information to the rank and file and also let the public see the everyday success stories of the Chicago Police Department. We are here to give information, provide a voice and FINALLY give credit to the men and women of this Department who truly deserve it. . . YOU. . . the "everyday copper."

Those of us working on this blog do so because WE WANT TO. Believe it or not, there are still a lot of police officers who take pride and honor in the work they do. There are problems and issues that make us unhappy with the job, that is part of life. But then again, do you know of ANY job that is problem-free? (If so, send me an application--I could use a stress-free gig!)

If you simply want to rant, rave, whine, moan and complain without adding anything constructive, find someplace else to spend your time. Coded messages and inappropriate comments (while creative and SOMETIMES humorous) are not what we are about and will not be posted. There's plenty of space to do that. . . elsewhere.

Criticism is cool. Stupidity is not. Police officers already face enough adversity on a daily basis. There are enough "haters" out there without us having to turn on each other.

If you are proud to do the job, say so. If you don't like the job, quit. It's easy to be "controversial" and "subversive" when you can do so with an electronic pseudonym. If you have a legitimate complaint or concern, you are more than welcome to express an intelligent opinion. If your concern is legitimate, have the courage to sign your name.

We do..... John Henry and Pat Camden.

I voted for Walls, this will also be a throw away but it says that we are sick of Richie and will vote for the right minority(?) when the right one comes along.

Better the right minority mayor who has to keep us happy that this dickhead who take the white vote and the city employee vote for granted.

P.S. Rudy G. is smarter, more articulate and is more honest than Richie. However, he is a Republican in name only. Scratch off the surface and you will find an arrogant, tax & spend, gun grabbing Democrat.

Speaking of elections....

SCC,

You need to add chicagofop7-thetruth.blogspot.com to your police related links. More coppers should know about this and get fired up about the next election (in 2008).

This current administration is useless. It's time for a change.

Just finished voting I, too, wrote in Patrick Fitzgerald for Mayor. Let’s hope that enough people write in Fitzgerald’s name that it will actually make a little blip on the radar screen. That should send a loud and clear message to everyone that we are tired of the corruption and stinking politics that run this city.

Here is a suggestion for all the news people reading this blog, report on how many votes Fitzgerald gets that should ruffle Daley’s feathers and then we could watch him trip over his own tongue and make stupid comments trying to explain why Fitzgerald was voted for over him.

I voted "none of the above" for mayor in the write in section.

I couldnt stand the way Dorthy Brown cried when she didnt get the endorsement from someother choclate people or the way when she was appointed and she was touted as having a double masters and highly educated. Then she dummed herself down and was throwing the race card out to get votes.

"DOC" Walls, I think he is crazy. He predicted a landslide win for himself. The look on his face was the same look I have seen in the past that preceeded a call of Transport the mental.

I apoligize for the long post. I hate living in an autocratic city. The mayor gets an idea and thats it. i.e. Meigs Field, Soldiers Field, Olympics, Trucks for Hire, The appointment of that alledged gangbanger from the HDO to head the Hired Truck Program.

I will now step off my soap box. How about next election we all write in Seiser?

I was going to vote for Seiser, but the election judges told me (after I mentioned a write-in, not naming him of course) that only registered write -in candidates can be counted.

What is the point of a write-in if you have to be registered? Isn't that what a write-in candidate is?

Anyway, I voted for a loser, correction, I voted against the winner. Maybe next time.

And I'm glad to see the black community didn't pander to Troutman's bullshit and elected someone who will represent their interests, not line their own pockets. Good going 20th ward!
