Keep and Bear Arms
- WASHINGTON - The District gun ban has been overturned by the U.S. Court of Appeals. On Friday, the court stated that prohibiting a person from keeping a firearm is unconstitutional. Judges cited the Second Amendment, which states, "...a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
- In a 2-1 decision, the appellate court reversed the decision on all counts, and held that the activities protected by the Second Amendment "are not limited to militia service, nor is an individual's enjoyment of the right contingent upon his or her continued or intermittent enrollment in the militia."

George Lyon says he wants a gun in his home because it's his constitutional right. Tom Palmer says he used a gun to ward off a beating. And Gillian St. Lawrence says her shotgun is useless because it has to be unloaded and have its trigger locked.
They are among the six city residents who successfully challenged the District's long-standing gun law, winning a major ruling Friday in a case that could reach the Supreme Court. The three men and three women share a strong desire to keep guns legally in their homes in what they say is a violent city.
And yet, in Illinois, gun grabbers are attempting to run rampant. Perhaps it's time for the ISRA and other organizations to look into using federal court precedents to stop Blago and Daley from running roughshod over this most basic of rights?

I knew the city & county were shot. Years ago I invested in property near the state border w/Iowa. Now MY time is here; and guess what, the machine has their guy in the mansion and pisshole chitown is trying to control the whole state senate.
I didnt care about the machine's theft and corruption; now I want them all dead or in prison. Hopefully, w/this D.C. judgement, the NRA/Ill R.A. can start to fight these evil pricks on the right to own issue........

Why the fascination with guns? How about something else? How about sports? Oh, or is it the days of your youth playing army never went away? Give it up.
The city's home rule over rides the 2nd amendment. Get used to it. You don't like it, move out west. Vote yes on H.R.1022.
If the second amendment is not an individual right,why are the rest?Many, if not all, liberals interperate the second amendment to mean a state has a right to be armed. A state is not a person and therefore can't have rights. I want the U.S. Supreme court to settle this once and for all.All rights are individual rights or we don't have any rights at all.Another blatant disregard for the Constitution is "Homerule", where a city can come up with it's own laws based on the number of people living within it's borders,i.e. our use of force guidelines are much more restrictive than the state,48 hours to charge someone instead of 72,felony review,all the way down to having to use outdated clay pipe for drainage in our houses. This fight goes way beyond the gun issue.

It is not a fascination with guns,it is about rights. Sports are not rights,but here's one for you,my sport is high power rifle compettions,but you don't like that sport do you?Well I don't want to be banned or made a felon simply because some liberal doesn't like certain(and the list is long) firearms.This isn't just about the gun issue either,would you like to wear a cross to show your religious belief,sure you can but not at work.Would you like to gather some friends and march down Michigan ave for whatever cause you like,not without a permit,the point is,this is about rights garrunteed by the Constitution,not privledges,like driving, the socialists even want to take away your right to free speech,why is this so hard for you dyed in the wool,card carrying union democrat libtards to understand.

Gun lovers? Saw a think on the history channel. It shows all these guys dressed up like army men playing with their assault rifles in the woods? Normal behavior?
GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE. Guns are our 2nd Ammn. right. I believe in concealed carry for law abiding citizens, even in the city of Chicago. Too many innocent victims, and no one gets the death penalty anymore. I think we should go back to public hangings.

If you notice the problem with guns is the people who have them. Minorities with guns equal crime. Look at the crime stats. Sorry, if you can't act properly with a firearm then you can't have one. Catch an alien with a gun deport him and seize his property. Gun violation by welfare or public aid recipient means loss of aid.
