Hypocrisy, Thy Name is Media

From our buddies over at burbcopschicago:
  • Stumbled across this in the Daily Herald (April 17)...concerning the Brown's Chicken trial...

  • After Bakalla’s testimony, prosecutors ushered her out a private exit so she would not have to face the media throng waiting for her. No other witnesses - including the victims’ families - have received such special protection thus far.
  • Didn't you guys go through "media hell" when Abbate went out a back exit?!?!? And that was for a battery. This BITCH (understatement) obstructed authorities for nine years and helped two maniacs destroy evidence from a mass homicide...and she got immunity in exchange for her testimony (that should have been enough of a gift).
  • So here's a challenge for any media snoops lurking around this blog...either give this the same level of national hype you guys gave the "Abbate exit"... OR...publicly acknowledge that cops aren't the only ones who get detoured around your lynch mobs during high profile trials.
Hmmm. Guess if it isn't a copper, no one cares. We wonder if any captains got demoted over this one?

The Dupage countyh Sheriff's office runs their courts. Unlike here, where the Cook County Baliffs have to run to the CPD evertime they need help doing their own jobs.

Busilik should have told who ever made the request that it was the Sheriffs job, not his to control the media circus due to a court trial. Had he done so, he would still be a Captain. Evidently he bowed to the wishes of a political hack judge. He got what he seserved for violating the stupid rule. Good bye and good riddance.

Everyone Po’s, Sgt's all of us who "grab the keys and drive around" woops we aren’t supposed to do that anymore, we have dots to cover. Have a camera on hand snap an unofficial photo to document a moment that is fleeting. We can’t use it as evidence in criminal court but any future "civil" trial we could use it as evidence to save our own buts........or at least to embarrass the media as in the Abatte back door illegal parking case after their lies.

just further proof that the media is not the Police Officer's friend.
There was a time, many years ago now, when I actually looked to the televised media for a somewhat impartial view of an event. The police got the same fair shake that every other citizen got. Not that bad cop stories were buried, far from it. But they didn;t beat a dead horse. They aired it, they filmed the interviews regarding the incident and then freakin moved on.
Now they hammer the public with repeated airings of the Abbate incident for every stupid reason they can.
Isn't this alot like the mother that tells her preschooler, "be good or I'll get that policeman to lock you up" (or some such related spewings). I remember having that happen to me and seeing the fear and loathing that came over this little child as he looked at me, actually sickened me. What a way to instill trust in someone. Well we are seeing the same from the public now.
Does the media have the right to air the video that the bartender's lawyer has made sure is spred around out there? Of course. But what does it serve to repeat it over and over? I don't have the answer. I do know that because of this and many other slants that the media puts on their "impartial" reporting, I can't trust them anymore than I will trust any other KNOWN liar.

Sorry about the ramble but I thought this topic actually deserved comment.

Never trust the media!!!!!
God Bless the CPD!!
A retired Sgt ( and lovin it)

Philadelphia cops aren't too happy with fireman Rodney Jean-Jacques, who has a second career as rapper Cal Akbar. He raps: "I got a surprise for them cops ... I hope the news is taping this because I'm gonna turn pigs into bacon bits."
Now the police union wants him fired, for some reason.

A question to the media--

On the news today they described police doing a search for an offender as "heavily armed." Just what is your definition of that? Do you think we are "lightly armed" normally? You also described the police as wearing body armor. Do you have a clue that we wear that all the time when we are working? Just how heavy handed do you want to make us sound? FYI, looking for offenders is what we do everyday. Some of those offenders are armed. We have to be prepared at all times for those that are armed.

The media doesn't have the balls to do that. It might not sell ad space. We all know that reporters are just whoring for publicity

Gee, The Media, our friends. See how they are playing up the gun angle from the college shooting but pretty much ignore the fact the kid was a whack job. He had mental health care (Haa Haa) but because he was 18 no one was able to warn the College of his evil ways. The Liberals always want to talk about second chances and rehabilitation but when the $hit hits the fan they want to blame the gun. I prefer to blame a person, not a object. I never understood liberals, kill unborn babies but save murderers.

The media will not give equal coverage. They chase sensational stories like lawyers chase ambulances. If it bleeds it feeds is their motto. They are whores for ratings or advertising dollars. Cops Gone Bad . . .Rogue Cops . . . . They blow that crap out at you and stick it in your face. They are not your friends.

You bunch of babies. You're public officers, and you perform an important public function. You're going to get covered. Sometimes it will be fair. Sometimes not. Grow up. If you don't like it, do something else for a living.
