Thanks for giving us space to write! All non police who read this BLOG please give me a minute!! Most of US POLICE try hard to defend the LAWS GIVEN TO U S (THE POLICE ) to defend the city /county / state / country to the best of our ability. In the past if we found someone in the wrong. We will try to pursue charges through one of the laws!! This is no longer the case in Illinois (at least Chicago). You must sign A COMPLAINT!! This gives credence to the offivcers who are there to uphold the laws presented by the elected officals and previous elected officials. MOST Police Officers WANT TO DO THEIR JOB AND GO HOME EVERY NIGHT to their families AND FEEL THAT THEY DID A DAYS JOB FOR A DAYS WORK!!!!!

In Chicago alone there are 50 Alderpeople / 14 county board people / 16 state reps / 6 state Senators / 4 US Reps and 2 US senators, 1 LT. GOV AND 1 GOV & 1 MAYOR GRAND TOTAL 95 VS 13,500 policemen can we make a difference HELL YES!!! Let's be Heard about Mike Mette/ Our contract/ the BS Political climate!!!! Stay posted I will try to organize a rally for MIKE METTE, our contract and the injustice AGAINST POLICE!!!! THERE ARE 95 ELECTED OFFICIALS AND 13,500 POLICE (NOT INCLUDING FAMILIES) WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!! STAY POSTED FOR RESULTS!!! EGR TO GO!!!!!!!!

DONT FORGET THE UNION IS VERY BUSY TRYING TO FIGHT SEVERAL DIFFERENT FRONTS SOS MOVEMENT, CAMERAS ETC. WE CAN NOT DEPEND ON THE UNION FOR EVERY THING!!!! WE MUST UNITE OURSELVES!!!!!! R U WITH ME!!!!!!!!! PLEASE IDENTIFY SCC WILL SUPPORT US!!!! HOPEFULLY SCC WILL POST ON ALL SITES FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS FOR A RESPONSE!!!!

You sir are a tool or an old, old, lefty. Getting people to unite behind anything on this job is a waste of time and oxygen. We have been trying to do it since FOP screwed us on the very first contract twenty five years ago.

No one cares. No one. All you people want to do is talk, whine, and cry. Then you go home and watch the idiot box to dull your brain.

When you arite to all of these people and then put your letters on here with your name on them, maybe someone may take you seriously.

How bout a trip to back in time
to yesteryear, 1972.
NO union
NO assignment security. You could live and work in 004, step on the bosses toes,( or AlderPerson Fast Eddy) and a telephone order (transfer) could dump your dumb ass to the old 016.
28 day furlough. NO personal days. No BFD days, etc. You could only accumulate 60 hrs time due. If you didn't use it, your time was erased after your furlough.AND no cash for overtime, time due only, and it was like pulling teeth to get some boss sign for it. You had to pay the District Secretary to get a locker, and for that matter you also had to pay him to get a day off group with weekends. Otherwise when the new Police Period began, your day off group would be changed to Mon-Tue all over again. By the way, whats a bullet proof vest? Take a look at the star case, 8-10 coppers a year
were being killed. Dozens more wounded all for 9,800 dollars a year.Oh yea, 100 dollar uniform allowance.
You boys sure got it tough.
Ah, the good old days.

This is the latest in investigative journalism. They plan on doing free-lance stories nationwide and then selling them to the established media. Beware.

In 1972 running a red light cost 25 bucks. Speeding on the Ryan cost fifty and cops weren't going to prison for punching out drunks that were their asses.

You missed the point moron. We had no union. It was time for weekends - they changed your day off group. Many didn't see weekends for years. You pissed someone off - you were gone. No protection. It isn't all about the money - it is about the conditions of this job. YOU need to respect those with time on the job because they have fought to at least get what you are given. Oh, I forgot, you are part of the "entitlement generation." Get over yourself!!! Continuing crying like a bitch. I for one want to thank all the veterans (20+ years) who at least worked through some very tough conditions with little thought about them from the department. The whole problem here is the generation that is coming on this job. They are entitled to everything....don't work for anything....everyone owes them, on and on and on and on. Get a grip - you probably don't even belong on this job - but you DO have a degree so I guess the department thinks you do. If you would stop and think for a minute - we didn't have these bullshit issues 20 years ago and guess what else we didn't have - college educations crying bitches who think they deserve everything handed to them on a silver platter.

Every parent wants their kid to have it better than they had it. But I have to tell you, I think we are getting to the point where we are starting to raise a bunch of spoiled, over-educated, do-nothing MBA's.
