False Alarm Again
- Chicago-area commuters breathed easier Friday after a $27 million state bailout of mass transit systems spared them a ''doomsday'' of major headaches during Monday morning's rush hour.
And once again, Huberman and various politicos will ramp up the fears of the 1,000 people who might actually be tempted to use the CTA in a pinch and pretty soon, the public will be saying, "HERE!!! Take my money! Raise my taxes! Just shut the f#$% up already!"
We give it about two weeks before everyone is whining again.

I say that the CTA should have shut down for a week, and then elimated the majority of the routes and jacked up the $$.
This city needs a major flame up people's asses in order to have them wake up, actually vote, and get rid of these goofs.
Wow...Keep crying wolf chicago.....The whole country is already sick of our shit!
YOUR DEMOCRAT PARTY IN ACTION!
TOTAL CONTROL OF ILLINOIS!
TOTAL CONTROL OF COOK COUNTY!
TOTAL CONTROL OF CHICAGO!
ALL THREE BANKRUPT!
Anyone see a pattern here?
I don't take public transportation often, but this two-tag team by Huberman and da Mare is disgusting.
They think their **** don't stink. Why keep demoralizing and frightening the public who depend on public transit with their brand of bull****? Is it because they LIKE this type of media attention that can fuel public sentiment by "crying wolf"?
Huberman is finally being shown to be a real scum-bag, and whacko. Da Mare, get rid of him quick and don't bring him over to any other pubic office. His head is too big to be an effective public servant.
A friend just got his tax bill with the 7% cap in place it went up $600.00 additional that is due by Dec 3rd! Next year thanks to the springfield thieves madigan and crew the rates are set to skyrocket! Be ready for a $2-4 thousand dollar increase so daley and friends can stuff more into their pockets what a bunch of criminals! This is like the Mad Max movie with anarchy running wild the criminals in cahrge a Chicago mirror! "Mayor there is an iceberg approaching, Don't worry our ship cannot sink" I pray that Patrick Fitzgerald takes this crimianl and 100 of his mastermind friends down soon!
What I can't understand is how such a large city can have such a dysfunctional mass transit system.
Correct me if I am wrong and maybe I am just uninformed but NY, Washington D.C., London, etc., these heavily populated cities don't seem to have these continous problems with their mass transit system. The whole thing is insane.
JMHO, but I think Huberman is the biggest joke of all.
there you go you god damn democrat's.......you have evry major market of gotv now and what comes out of it?
pure bullshit...no $$$$ everyone want more $$$.......lets get the republicans back in charge.....i know i know gerorge ryan bullshit....repuplicans at least go to jail and pay their dues to society....where as the democarats bitch and moan and throw the race card in everything.....we're basically screwed.....thanks
Democrats = BIG bureaucracy, big taxes, big social programs, small defense, big assholes.
Republicans = small government, low taxes, big defense, low social programs.

The CTA should cut loose from the RTA and PACE. The CTA can support itself on its own.
How many times did Frank Kruesi use the "doomsday" scenario?!
Three buses in a row, whole lines are slow zones, chicken bones on the floors...why bother!
I say go ahead with the cuts, don't give them anymore money. You know what? The stupid motherfuckers might actually learn how to run a business with the existing funding they have just like the private sector does.
WARNING: OFF TOPIC
Just saw Jesse Jagoff on cable putting all the mortgage foreclosures on the lenders. According to Jesse, the lenders are at fault for giving people loans that they couldn't afford to pay or without "teaching" them how to be responsibile mortgage holders.
Excuse me, but anybody remember the 60's when they were marching about poor black folks can't get a loan because they have no money and bad credit? I do, and guess what, this is what happens when you buy something you can't afford.
Could someone PLEASE follow HIM around and kick him everytime he talks out of both sides of his mouth?
I love it when a slow as bus holds up traffic behind it, when I finally do a traffic manuver to pass it ,I look and see three people sitting on bus in various random seats. Who needs the CTA not me
I wonder if any of the CTAs problems might stem from the fact that the people runnning it have absolutely NO TRANSIT EXPERIENCE !
What they all do have , however, is clout with our lil dictator, Daley.
Calm down everyone!
Part of the way were going to save
money is were going to lube the entire el system w/massage oil.
The reduced friction will reduce fuel use.
I was walking to SPIN last week and saw TABOO on Belmont was having a sale, so I bought out the inventory.............
I do believe it is time to start calling the DemocRAT Party exactly what it is, the Socialist Party. That is what it would be called in Europe, and that is what it is here in the USA, especially Shitcago-Crook County..
And what about their top contender for President,
Hillary "COMMY-MOMMY" Clinton.
CTA is the most poorly run transit system in the United States. All you have to do is look at the idiots they employ, and the idiots who run it to understand why it is like it is. Personally, I don't want anymore of my tax dollar spent on this jitney excuse for a transit authority. As far as I'm concerned, most of the riders who use it can piss in their shoes and float home. Nothin but waste, waste, and more waste of the taxpayers dollar.
Our goofy city government is going to blow money on stupid shit anyway. At least with the CTA they throw some of the dollars back at the police in the form of Special Employment. It may not be time and a half, but it is still better than ninety five percent of the side jobs out there.

hello chicagoans
I'm currently working on a new flick, "CTA Doomsday Part VI"
We'll need extras and right now I'm casting for the main roles. Although we already have Ronald McDonald in place starring as Gov. Blagovich. We're paying him $160k -the same amount you paid to fly Blago to Springfield this year.

Apparently you have very little knowledge about what your talking about. First off Blacks who marched for fair lending were not poor contrary to your statement. They were working class and middle class famiies who were denied loans based on race and not financial worthiness. The only loans they could receive were from either Black owned banks or other banks but at a much higher interest above prime. Also reagarding your statement that they had "bad credit", the Fair and Iaasac system of rating credit was even utiliezed during the 60's. It was until around the early 70's that the system was even used. Get your facts straight before talking. And on Jesse. As much as I dislike Jesse he does have a valid point. Home foreclosure is not a minorityissue it's an American Epidemic. I know some officers going thru foreclosures. Are they wrong for trying to provide a decent life for their families. Hell the majority of can;t live here with these inflated home prices but we try for a better life.
Be safe

Go take a look at Roseland. That's the result of "fair housing."
And how do you have a house go into foreclosure? If you buy something you can't afford, or on a shoestring, what can you expect?
I live in Chicago, own my home and live within my means which is 70K a year. No credit card debt. How do you lose your house? Enlighten me please.

Please define "decent."
Next jan 2008 the deal expires then what? Lets use the command van and daleys fleet as busses to help the citizens come abord the "party bus"!

You really do need to be enlightened. First and foremsost this problem goes way beyond race, classism and "Roseland" as you wrote. It has to do with inflation. Here's a little economics 101 for you.
Roseland was dessimated thru an illegal practice called "blockbusting" . This practice was used by Real estate agents to scare not only whites but also blacks (Bronzeville) into selling their homes at much a lower value to the real estate companies. The real estae company would then either keep it for renatl property of sell it at inflated prices. One interesting note about Roseland is that the majority of homes in foreclusre were not owned by the people living there. It was rental property. The original owners pulled out all the equity and lost the property.
Now onto your argument about living with your means.. This is an interesting arguemnt you make. It's based on common sense. true we should all live within our means. But here's the problem with that. The majority of people loosing their property are not poor. They're middle class families with two incomes, newly graduated college students and the most forgotten segament the retirees on fixed incomes. When they bought their homes the economy was "good". Now we have higher gas prices, increased property tax value, increased insurance costs, increases in taxes in general and a stagante economy. Ev ertying is going up except for our pay. See you and I can I lucky enough to have jobs where we get raises to off set the cost of higher living expenses. Although it may not be much we still get it. The majority of Americans fon't have that luxury. They work in private sector jobs where raises are not gauranteed. So now these people attempt to sell their homes but here's the problem. What they paid for it 4 or 5 years ago it's no longer worth that. A $325,000 is now worth 279,000. They are upside down in a house. This is unheard of!! They estimate that this year 700,000 people will loose their homes and in 2008 close to 900,000 will losse their homes. That's almost 2 million people.
