Ald. Isaac Carothers (29th), chairman of the City Council's Police Committee, said the incident exposed by Chicago Sun-Times columnist Mary Mitchell could have been a lot worse.
"It's very unfortunate that it had to result to that, but I certainly understand. I'm pleased that they decided not to shoot her and they decided not to tackle her and that they didn't use the night stick, which may have been options if someone is swinging a hammer at you," Carothers said.
Carothers was hard pressed to explain why the officers did not simply leave the scene when Fletcher refused to put down the hammer she was waving.
There it is folks! The most brilliant thinking the media could come up with - why not simply leave the scene of a crazy woman waving a hammer? God damn fucking brilliant!!! We are impressed. Alderman Carrothers should have simply said, you want it....you got it......P.O. M. Seiser is now going to be city wide unit all by himself. He will have a CPD issued 1987 Chevy Celebrity at his disposal to get to the scene asap, he reports to NOBODY!!! CPD is getting smeared by the media every few days. This is really getting old. Even when CPD does the right thing, someone complains and tries to twist it around to make it seem like something was done wrong. Dumbass, go read the Channel 7 article SCC linked to. The Department of Aging people saw her wandering in front of the windows swinging a hammer and called the police. Suppose she was beating her cat to death? The paper boy? A neighbor? Her concerned granddaughter? Damn right the police went in and damn right they were under legal obligation to do so once made aware of the situation. Remember, they fired some people locally 15 or more years ago for not going in when a mother told police her daughter was being raped behind a locked door and the police didn't go in.

Responding was a LT., and 4 PO's. The woman began telling the PO's and the LT. they that they were the devil and she would not let them in and to go fuck themselves!

Officials at a U.K. high school were aghast after a stripper visited a student during class and whipped him in front of other students and a horrified teacher, Sky News reported Thursday.
A booking error is to blame after a mother arranged to send a "gorilla gram" to her son on his 16th birthday, an arrangement she cleared with Nottingham's Arnold Hill School and Technology College. Instead, the agency sent a stripper clad in a policewoman costume, Sky reported.
After whipping the teen, the stripper placed a collar around his neck and led him around the classroom with a leash, telling him he had been a "bad boy" for not doing his homework. She then put on a Britney Spears tune and stripped for the shocked class, witnesses told Sky.
The police were not called and no one was suspended from the school in the incident, and officials said they were investigating.

The weird part was that they were filming the South (tactical) entrance, from the public sidewalk on Wentworth. In all my years, I've never observed that before. I have been to a check the well being in the past. knoced on the door with no answer, but heard faint noises. I didn't have a warrant. (So according to these dum f--ks I should have left) Forced entry was made. and an elderly woman was found, she had fallen down her basement stairs. She was there for 2 days and would have died. Just think what would have happened if I would have left.
The coppers who gained entry(were there to help) Not hurt. It is unfortunate that an elderly person had to be tazed because she attempted to hurt uniformed officers. WTF hammers hurt, cause disfigurement. If she was swinging a stuffed animal and got tazed you would have something.

Who is the bigger person?
The drug dealer/gang banger who kills people everyday with his poison, the lawyer who manipulates the facts to get his undeserving client $$$ at the public's and others expense, the journalist who destroys peoples' lives publishing their biased, onesided stories. These people are all the same.
The real heroes of Chicago are the working people. The teacher who has to deal with the student that has a learning disability. The CTA Bus driver that shows up to work everyday despite the fact that politicans can't find a way to pay his meager salary, the fireman who goes into people's houses and takes them out even though they don't have smoke detector.
Lets not forget another important working man. The Chicago Police Department beat officer. He goes to work everyday, he tries to help people solve their problems, if problems can't be solved he arrests the offender. Most of the time he or she solves the problem the right way and once in a while he makes a mistake, he is after all human.
It takes a big man or women to go to work and have to everyday deal with the constant demoralization and belittlement that members of the CPD have to deal with at the hands of the media, some citizens of Chicago, their elected officials and supervisors everyday. To go to work in this climate takes a lot of courage. The working man is what made this City great and these days many have forgetten that fact.

Due to a bad hair cut a while back, I hve had to let my hair grow out. The type of hair- what is left of it- I have does not look good long. I cannot keep it neat.
My sife suggested that I use some hair gel until it grows out long enough to get cut properly. I have been using the hair gel for about two weeks.

I was in court at A/1 today with the off duty mounted unit officer who called for police assistance the day of the Gay Pride Parade. He was returning from putting his horse away and encountered road rage from 3 ladies (using the term loosely) who had partied at the parade all day. They were charged with Battery and arrested by the State Police. The camera's were their attempt to get a picture of him on film since the department would not provide them with one. He was spirited away and they didn't get their pictures for their rag magazine or whatever. They were a piece of work and the officer was truly professional. Of course the city will settle.

I have been so tired of hearing people beef about this TRU unit, i check the seniorty listing for them, they have alot of people there with alot of time on the job, many with more than 10 yrs, and an awful lot between 5 and 10 yrs, I also saw quite a few with 20 or more(must be inside people I guess) yes there were alot between 3-5 yrs. Looks like a well-rounded group, average is probably 5-6 yrs so I don't see the problem, what gives? people jealous? a former member who was dumped? let it go, I can't be the only one tired of hearing about them, if they like it there good for them...

I am not a police officer, the name Mopra is silly, that stupid woman could not hold a canle to Oprah, that's an insult to Oprah. Call Mary Mitchell in one one week and say I have information on that incident where the older lady was tased, and she is going to reply "what lady, what are you talking about?" She printed an article on a young man being murdered by two blacks wearing hoodies. When told that there were a gang of thugs wearing hoodies on Grenshaw and Pulaski, which is where they used hang at - she answered with an "I can't be bothered" answer and "what are you telling me this for?" She asked for information - she did not direct anyone to the police, she asked for information. Forget what she has to say, next week she'll be on a rant about something new.

There are organizations everywhere that could handle that business, they will check in everyday, transport you to and from the hospital, etc, and Medicaid or Medicare would pay for it. Let me just say that the "new" guy working 433 is one of the hardest working officers you will find. He's not new...he was in 004 before. MD has a great knowledge of law enforcement and you guys can learn a lot if you just become open minded. When it comes to surveillance, his specialty, this guy will go that extra mile.
Why do you care if he looks different from your perception of how an officer should look? The guy is a nonconformist. Hey, if we were all the same, CPD would be a really boring place to work. What's important is that he'll be there for his fellow officers when he's needed. Like someone said in an earlier post, when the proverbial shit hits the fan, you'll be glad to see this guy coming to your side!
My advice to you guys in 004 bashing him is to keep your mouth shut and observe how to effectively police. You will learn something beneficial. I guarantee that. Stay safe MD.

Just a little tidbit, first of all these "undocumented" workers that are making their way north of the border are not exactly rocket scientists. I mean how many laborers does a country need? Most of them can't even read and write Spanish, let alone speak English. The majority of them have not even finished second grade. Currently my kid has three friends, college grads, masters degrees and a shit load of loans coming due and guess what? Can't get a job teaching because they don't speak Spanish or have "special education" training.
It's starting to happen folks. The impact of our government not doing anything while this scum infiltrates our society is hitting the next level. When a kid who has gone to college, excelled academically and worked hard to be credentialled in the field of their passion cannot get a job because they do not speak a foreign language that is not the primary language of the country that they live in, well, that's pretty fucking bad. And what does it say for their impression of the America that they are inheriting? I'm fifty so I have a frame of reference of what my grandparents and parents went through. Young adults today are seeing a different landscape. Bottom line, when these "undocumented" laborers that push brooms, clean off tables and cut grass start affecting college graduates trying to get a job, it should be a signal to our government to do something, wouldn't you think?
