Phony "reverend" Victory
- Abiding by the wishes of religious leaders, CTA unions on Friday called off plans for a one-day walkout to protest the impasse on funding Chicago-area mass transit.
The agreement, announced at a South Side church, spares more than a million commuters from a 24-hour work stoppage late Sunday through Monday that would have brought traffic in the Loop and elsewhere to a halt.
A halt? It might have increased the gridlock and made the taxi guys and the parking lot owners rich, but...hey?! Wait a minute! This is all a plot to make people actually use the Millennium Park Parking garage so that it might actually be able to pay off it's own bond issue!
Seriously though, the "reverends" averted this work stoppage? Did anyone notice that there is a "reverend" on the CTA Board? A "reverend" who was confirmed to have gone to Area 4 to interfere in the investigation of a CTA employee stealing identities? Anyone else think he's trying to regain a little of his tarnished halo?

Off this topic, but with some relevance. What Molloy Merit Angel now a detective has a harder time finding area 2 than she did finding35th st. All of her tours seem to be spent at her Mt Greenwood home, at least 2211's beat is safe. With the black eye we are getting in the media these days, Why give these bottom feeders any more ammunition to hang us with? Another merit pick gone to waste. Congratulations Detective

Any boss the rank of LT and above has to submit a resume to the new Supt to justify why they are where they are.

First, we try to do contact cards in the Ickes because it is dangerous and outsiders cause problems. Well, Jesse Jagoff comes there and shacks up with some locals and says the POLICE are the real outsiders and handcuffs reality. Then the notorious, racist Danny Davis gets stopped for driving left of center and he claims the whole CPD is left of center with racial profiling and he further handcuffs reality. Then off duty drunk, Bernard (I hate whitey and I got handcuffed)Kelly gets stopped and he of course has to claim racism because it is in his soul. Well, I have to ask you how can we protect people when we are constantly challenged by people who are supposed to be on our side. It is a joke. Total anarchy is on the way. An accused murderer and rapist who days ago said he would rather die than spend the rest of his life in prison was found dead in his cell in the DuPage County Jail on Friday.
Robert Rejda, 26, was to stand trial for the sexual assault and murder last Christmas of Lauren Kiefer, 24, a onetime model and childhood acquaintance found brutally beaten in her family's home near Oakbrook Terrace.
He also faced charges of home invasion and rape in a 2005 attack on a 27-year-old woman in Aurora.
The cause and manner of Rejda's death remained under investigation, said Paul Darrah, a spokesman for DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett, and DuPage County Coroner Pete Siekmann. Darrah said the circumstances included the "possibility of suicide.'' Rejda had a private cell.
Darrah and Siekmann, however, said published reports he had hanged himself were incorrect.
"We don't believe foul play was involved," Darrah said. "But death by hanging is not correct."
On Tuesday, Rejda appeared in DuPage County Circuit Court for a pretrial hearing in the Kiefer case. His attorney, public defender Robert Miller, "indicated that his client wished to plead guilty to all charges and to have the death penalty imposed," according to Darrah's statement.
Judge Michael J. Burke that day ordered a fitness evaluation of Rejda, "but only as a precaution, as there was no indication that Rejda was currently unfit, mentally or physically," Darrah said.
On the day she died, Kiefer attended a Christmas party before returning home, where she apparently caught Rejda burglarizing the house. Authorities said she and Rejda struggled before he killed her with a baseball bat.
Authorities said in March that DNA evidence gleaned from Kiefer's clothing and from beneath her fingernails helped link Rejda to her murder, as did telephone records showing Rejda had called the Kiefer home only a few hours before the burglary.
Siekmann was to oversee an autopsy of Rejda's body today.

You can bet the family of Rejda will sue and collect. I hope the other family files a suit on behalf of the estate of his victim so none of the Rejda can collect a damm penny. Rot in hell Rejda.

I do not know the person you are talking about but you obviously have too much time on your hands. I sure wouldn't want to rob a bank with you because you are obviously a RAT. You are a great example what is wrong with this dept and to a greater extent with society. Instead of worrying about yourself you nose into other peoples business. I'm sure you are perfect, never took a lunch one minute over 30 mins, stayed down on a job for a couple extra mins to go to lunch or finish your tour. How bout a new years resolution. Try worrying about yourself instead of ratting on others and maybe good things will happen to you.

There are many more look at all the city cars everywhere but where they should be the clouted do wahtever they want wait until the new boss gets the list of where the vehicles are it he will have some fun with it! Personally, I salute admitted rapist and murderer Robert Rejda. He has done the unthinkable that our politicians have failed to do at all this year; he has saved the taxpayers a considerable sum in putting on a public trial of his many sordid deeds. No additional security, no special food, no "special circumstances" housing, no endless appeals. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Rejda, however way he managed to do himself in. Hopefully, many other bottom feeders will seek to imitate him and commit similar unselfish acts that can only benefit the public.
If we cannot get rid of merit promotions, at least get rid of this old boy network!

Yeah, Molloy Merit angels haven't been known to solve much, if any crime before they were Detectives. So, what did he do? Of course, PROMOTE them to Detectives and more. Another great CPD clout-goof with a blimp-head and body, all helium.
this wasnt just a victory for what you refer to as "phony reverends" but also to those of us who depend on the CTA every day in our lives. There are many good, decent people who depend on the CTA to make a living. Just because they have a little darker skin than you and I it is people like you, SCC, who love to see them fail.
Quick note: I was riding the bus yesterday during a period that would have been affected by the stoppage.
I saw a older black woman, mid 40s maybe, carrying a couple bags of groceries, 3 kids all under the age of 10, a cane and was having a real hard time just getting on the bus. A squad car drove up and just as I thought the old timer was about to do something good and decent he gets out of the squad, tosses a bag of Arbys in the trash, looks at the old lady, shakes his head and says "so dis is what my tax dollars are goin to?". He gets back in his car and takes off. I got up, helped her on, smiled, paid her fare and sat back down. She said thank you and smiled back. She explained she hasnt worked in years because of her acute asthma and was struggling to make it every day. She had a box of no named steaks becasue she couldnt afford the butchers cuts. She helps out everyday in her own way by preaching to the young men in her neighborhood and helps them find the good in them. She allows them to take refuge in her hallway when it is cold. As she got off the bus her cold hard face looked at me and smiled. She lit a cigarette and walked away. It is people like this I feel for everyday. And eventhough I go to work in 011 everyday and take the abuse from the media, the bosses, the mayor, the FOP, its people like this older lady who make me think I really am making a difference!
The below post is absolutely true but we dont stick together. we will go another 3 to 4 years without a raise while Mayor Daley and his family make all kinds of crooked deals to pocket more money. Our pension is in the crapper as well and we do nothing. We make me sick!

This was all a bunch of crap. A few anonymous people w/the CTA told me that there are numermous unions. The ONE union threatening the stirke was the rail, Union 2252 (I forget the exact number).
As you know, it's illegal to strike because of the clause even though you can "call in sick." It's just more political games in our city to try to force the bobbleheads down south to do something. The people in Sprinfield don't give a dam because us because most of these places don't even have mass transit in their areas. So they say screw Chicago & the outlying areas.
What they don't realize is that it effects them because Illinois resident as well as visitors here can hop on the Metra to head to Galena, Naperville, etc to vistit and spend $$$$.
I so glad that the unions that are paid by the rank and file CTA employees gave in to the store front reverends. Maybe they forgot who pads their pockets, it ain't the rev's. This was just a scare tactic, why broadcast a blue flu moment days in advance. It gave the papers and everyome else tme to react to the walkout. Of course they would bacl down and call it off. So all the CTA employees are at the same point, clueless where the future is going to take them. Nice going.
