Deal Falls Apart?

  • [Stanley] Howard signed the agreement but penciled in a condition that he could file further legal claims against the city.

The city's chief lawyer ran it past the federal judge handling the case.

"Judge Aspen agrees with us and has said, putting in that language makes it different than what we had agreed to," Corporation Counsel Mara Georges said.
Switching the agreement in the middle of signing? Hahaha. And Wallace Bradley interrupting and shouting at the lawyers? Wonder how much he and the boys have already lined up as some kind of racket money to keep Patterson's people ...um... safe and secure? Everyone has their hands out and still, no one asks what the State's Attorney at the time knew and when did he know it.

$20 million buys a lot of silence.

Hey SCC,

I noticed that Carothers and Burke backed off on the breathalysers for cops involved in shootings. you don't think it has anything to do with a certain "merit" promotion, do you?

It'll be cheaper to throw Burge in jail.

Greedy Bastards! Today we saw the real reason behind these lawsuits..$$$$$$$$$$$$. Andy Dick thought his Hannaukah payday was here and too bad for him..he has to wait another month. Gangbanger Wallace Gator Bradley "community activist..Urban translator" must be getting a cut of that 20 million. He was going crazy at the press conference because the money train didn't stop at the station. These attorneys are raping the taxpayers of this city with their bogus lawsuits. Thank you asshole George Ryan for putting the wheels in motion when you pardoned these jagoffs so you could attempt to save your own corrupt ass. With all of the bullshit talk about civil rights these attorneys talked about in all of their press conferences...their true money grubbing motives were revealed today! Fuck you! Time for laws which limit the amount of money these scumbags can sue for.

I do hope that Alderman Ed Smith ensures that "O.J." is hired to find the mass murderers that appear to walking the streets of his community.
Someone committed the murders that Aaron Patterson, Stanley Howard, Leroy Orange and Madison Hobley were found innocent of by then Governor George Ryan.
Ryan stated, and you can believe George, that he found them innocent after he reviewed the evidence. Ryan can share that evidence with "O.J." when they are incarcerated together and "O.J." can then conduct the investigation when he has spare time from finding the real killers of his wife.
Gator Bradley can assist "O.J." as his legman.
I loved watching the lawyers whining about who did what and when on Chicago Tonight earlier this evening. But then it has not been about justice it always has been about the money. I have no doubt that some of these lawyers have encouraged and coached their clients into what they should say.

In regards to the toolbox from 002 that went to the media like a little bitch, whatever happened to two P.O.'s settling their differences in the parking lot then buying each other drinks afterwards? This job is now officially dead....

It sometimes happens that a party will authorize a settlement -- he or she will tell the lawyer to take the money -- and then (after talking to friends, family members, bill collectors) will change his or her mind -- ask for more money -- or try and change the terms.

I had it happen to me once in a tort case in the Cook County Circuit Court. We had a pretrial conference and the plaintiff was present. With his lawyer and the judge and me all in the room (I represented the party that was offering the settlement) the plaintiff said he was taking the deal.

He tried to back out of it the next day.

It was embarrassing, and it was time-consuming, but the court ultimately enforced the deal that was struck.

I'm guessing something similar happened in this case, and I'm predicting that the Federal court will enforce this deal, too.

What I have learned:

From the Burge saga...If you submit to a deposition taken by Taylor and Loevy and you do not agree with their claims they will demand that you be investigated and indicted for perjury.

From the Herman trial...If you testify and it is not beneficial to the prosecution then the Judge
and the SAO will send your testimony to the PD with a recommendation that you be investigated and disciplined.

From Bob Milan and the SAO...We do not trust the PD to investigae police shootings.

From the media...We hate the police and will sensationalize everything you do.

From the City and Daley...Why back the police. It is politically correct to agree with the likes of Mary Mitchell, Ed Smith and Al Sharpton and beat up on us.
From the FOP and Donohue...We will do nothing to stand up for you as we are too busy looking out for ourselves.

THE MORONS THAT WE ELECTED ARE BACKING OFF THE BREATHALYZER BECAUSE IT INCREASES THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGES THE CITY WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT REGARDLESS.

ONE BEER OR A GLASS OF WINE COULD INCREASE A JUDGEMENT TO MILLIONS.

IS STEROID A BIG PROBLEM>>>>>

HOW ABOUT VIAGRA I CAN BET YOU THAT SOME GOOF IS TAKING THESE PILLS WITHOUT A SCRIPT.

REMEMBER THE ALDERMAN SPOUT OUT LAWS BUT THE LAWYERS HAVE TO CORRECT THEM AFTER THEY MAKE THE IDEAS KNOWN.

DO YOU THINK THESE LAWSUIT ARE BEING SETTLED AT THE SAME TIME BY ACCIDENT?

A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME THE CITY IS THROWING SHIT ON THE WALL TO SEE WHAT STICKS. ITS CONTRACT TIME AND THE CITY WANTS TO GET RID OF MOST OF ARE PROTECTIONS IN THE CONTRACT.

EXPECT A NICE CASH RAISE IN EXCHANGE FOR THE CITY HAVING THE ABILITY TO TERMINATE YOU INSTANTLY.
REMEMBER BOY YOU GAVE UP ALL THOSE PPO'S AND EXTENDED THE PROBATION PERIOD TO 1 IN A 1/2 YEARS.
SO EXPECT ALL THE HOUSE MOUSES AND THE LAZY OFFICER TO VOTE FOR A CONTRACT OFFERING MORE CASH AND LESS RIGHTS.

I have been paying attention to what has been going on in the courts regarding these civil suits.

Taylor and Loevy have stated that police officers who pled the 5th Amendement of the Constitution should be prosecuted criminally. They fail to ralize that this is a right that the forefounders included for everyone including Chicago police officers.

Watching what has gone on in recent years regarding these civil suits and the lame attempts of the City to provide legal assistance to police officers the only way to go is to avail oneself of the protections afforded by the Constitution and take it to the Supreme Court if anyone attempts to overcome same.

Where the hell is the FOP???

It's only a matter of time!

Rodney King got millions from LA, was subsequently locked up and recently the victim of a drive by

Mr. Mearday squandered his millions and is now a parolee selling crack from a Maywood motel room.

Aaron Patterson can buy lots of canned meat and red pop in the Fed joint...the rest are victims of themselves!

Just a matter of time, be patient...

And honestly, it's one less contract for the flower pot watering/maintenance crew

Gator Bradley ought to be put down like the pit bulls that are found in dog fighting kennels. But that would be insulting to any self-respecting dog. Fuck Gator Bradley. Take those cases to trial. Does any one think a jury will believe Aaron "Ranger" Patterson or Stanley Howard who is still in the joint on a rape conviction. Fuck it. Try the case and tell Mara Georges try to win one for a change.

You give people like Howard, Patterson, Mobley and Orange money and you are rewarding them for committing murder.
It also encourages others, both offenders and lawyers, to make up stories in-search of a big payday.

No investigator should ever attempt to obtain a confession from any suspect.

It just allows you to be subject to lawsuits for the rest of your lives.

You should encourage offenders, suspects and miscellaneous badguys to reside next door to Flint Taylor, Jon Loevy, Locke Bowman and Bob Milan!

Where is Donohue, Pleines and the Union? Is there a conference in Hawaii?
