Some people have said that Christmas cards they sent to Mike Mette were returned. This is the latest known address that we have:

Although we find it hard to believe that based on the 7-digit number following Mike's name that Iowa authorities couldn't locate what facility they stuck him in, we wish they would stop fucking around with people who just want to send Mike a card.

I wrote a letter and called the Iowa Governor's office, as many requested. The Guv's office wrote a letter back and put it on the States Attorney's Office.
Is it possible to send him money in a card that he could use in the commissary?
Does anybody know if they will read his mail?
Gentlemen: this is NOT a troll; it is meant with the best of intentions. Now some of you know what others go through getting mail to folks on the inside.
There are more than just police officers in the slam who should not be.
Funny, Didn't see anything in this months FLOP Newsletter Presidents Message as to how we could support Mike. Zero on Fr. Nangles behalf as well.Seems all he's good for is his BS made up street stories.

All incoming and outgoing mail and phone calls in state prisons nationwide are monitored.

I agree but prisons and jails consider it contraband.if they let some issues of Juggs and Swank in there would be less attacks on jail guards and staff.

The entire Mike Mette situation is a travesty. And a pox on the coppers in Iowa that allowed the complainant to sign against him without locking his ass up too.
You can bet your sweet bippy that they'll be reading his mail, just like they read EVERYBODY'S mail.
And, because he's a former cop, the cop wannabee CO's will be looking for anything whatsoever to screw him over with.

Yes. They can and will read his mail.
Generally all prison mail has to be left open going out and will be opened before being delivered to the prisoner. Keep it nice boys and leave the weapons out.
A presidential pardon would be good. If Bush pardon's him he would be able to come back on the job.
Before I made the 2nd video for Mike, I thought the Iowa Constitution allows the Governor to pardon felons. Can anyone confirm?

OFFENDER BANKING CHANGES
Effective August 1, 2007, the Iowa Department of Corrections is centralizing offender banking operations. All incoming money for offender spending/commissary accounts will be received and handled by a central location, the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility (FDCF). At that time, incoming monies for offenders will not be accepted at or by any other location.
Guidelines:
Effective August 1, 2007 all incoming money must be sent to the following address:
IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account
1550 L Street, Suite B
Fort Dodge, IA 50501
All deposits must be in the form of a cashiers check or money order. All cashiers checks and money orders must be made payable to: IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account. The cashiers check or money order must include the following: offender name, offender number, sender’s name and sender’s complete address. All writing should be legible. If the deposit does not follow these guidelines it will be returned to the sender by mail. Money orders and cashiers checks will no longer be accepted by drop off at any institution. The only option is to mail to the address listed above.
Questions regarding offender deposits can be addressed by calling FDCF at (515) 574-4700. Callers will be prompted to press 7 for the business office and then 4 for offender accounts. Questions may also be sent via e-mail to docoffenderaccounts@iowa.gov.

Look at it this way,Mette could have gone to a tougher joint. He was given a break by the prison system. I'm sure they looked at his case and saw that it was bullshit. Still,its a bad dream.

I actually wrote to Mike last time his address was posted, about a month ago and received a really nice response from him. Sounds like he is keeping his head up and making the best of a shitty situation. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
why is it when you are on the list to be a detective you become a giant asshole? Is it because all of your magical knowledge that appears when you get the letter? is it because you know a boss who is getting you a spot in Area 2? is it because your family is on the job and therefore you get what you want? what ever the answer you must realize that you are still in a beat car until the day you go and should act like a normal cop not some giant moron who knows everything. You can take the boy out of beverly but you cant take the beverly out of the boy.
