The street deputies, the Assistant Deputy Supt. have been told their jobs are being eliminated. Don't know what's in store for them. The area deputy chiefs will have to perform the street deputies function in their respective areas. The area deputy chiefs already get an extra $5,000.00 "Call out Money" above their regular pay. Looks like they will soon be earning this money.

Don't expect much from J-Fed until P-Fed moves in. He’s just got rid of upper management. Middle and lower supervisors are next and then the rank-in-file. The next three years will be a fucking joke my friends. This is pay back for the mayor's embarrassment in Europe last Spring. Wait for the fucked up contract we get.

1. New rules concerning off duty behavior.
2. A new IAD standard limited to only two findings for c.r.’s Exonerate and Guilty until proven innocent.
3. No new equipment, cars, PDT’s or long arms. City can’t afford it and taxpayers don’t want to pay for it.
4. The honeymoon with the media just ended with the first round of appointments which are obviously Daley’s and Alder creature's friends.
5. Massive unloading of 35th Street personnel only to be replaced with another group of useless idiots who are friends of the new clout bosses.
6. Increases in crime and murders rates with decreases in clearance rates.
7. Things will get bad and then J-Fed will realized that he fucked up! But so what he got his. Then we will get another Supt who is full of shit again.
8. Merit promotional process will not change because these new clout bosses will want to take care of their clout babies to perpetuate the species.

Hindsight as we know is always 20-20. We can all sit back and criticize this guy and that guy for the lame brained ideas and policies they proffered. However, what we fail to do is delve a little deeper to find who the great “OZ” behind these thoughts was. I’ll take one case in particular to make my point. Recently the Department was outraged by the two swipe process. It so upset the new Superintendent he immediately rescinded the order and spoke to its incorrectness. As soon as it was shit-canned the posts came hot and heavy about what fool in the Department was responsible for this outrage. R&D was singled out at once as being the culprit.
Let me fill you in on what really happens. There are a number of folks who work on the 5th Floor – City Hall 5th Floor that is – that call many of the shots for the Department. Policies are set by the Mayor and the edicts are delivered by the M & M boys. Every time someone in the Department has the audacity to question one of their “suggestions” a little red mark is placed next to their name so the great “OZ” knows who had the nerve to question him.
So next time one of you decides to question a policy or procedure just step back and ask yourself if you have the balls to tell the Mayors Office they’re wrong. Oh, for those of you who say you would question them, let me be the first to say your “full of ^%$#.

The first round of moves leaves many unanswered questions. The elevation of Jackson, Cuello and Shields are questionable. ALl have "MERIT" all over thier resumes. All three can have thier promotion roots traced back to their respective political sponsors quite easily. Jackson to Carothers and the West Side Reverends, Cuello to the HDO, and Shields to Hillard and from what I've read Obama's wife.
The true litmus test will come when we get down to the Commander level. If the likes of A. Stanley, T. Williams and K. Kolman are allowed to keep their gold stars we will know nothing has changed.
The real problems with the CPD, and all other city deparments for that matter, stem directly from the 5th Floor at City Hall.
Stay Safe - Keep your fellow Officers near and dear - don't believe a word the media says - and make it home to your family after your tour. These are most important.

Shields? As in Mike Shields from the fighting 018? I had the misfortune of meeting this little punk at an in-service training seminar recently which he also attended. I must say that while I normally do not make negative comments about another policeman on a blog, I will in this case. This little asshole managed to piss off just about everybody else in the class. The only guy that would talk to him was another youngster with two minutes on the job. Little Mikey for whatever reason, began messing with a veteran copper who has forgotten more about Police work than little Mikey could ever HOPE to know. I sat there and watched in amazment as he just attempted to elevate his status with the rest of the class by messing with this seasoned old grunt who has put more bad guys away than Mikey could ever hope to do. The funny thing about it is that while he thought that he was the cats meow, everybody else had him pegged for what he is. A spoiled little kid who has not grown up yet. He just doesn't know that yet nor does he know that everybody is laughing not with him, but at him.If ever there was a young kid worthy of the term "hairgel police" or "asshat", it is this little goof.

There are a lot more problems with the case than not turning on the light. You're naive to think that two third party person admissions from gangbangers are going to get a cop killer charged with murder when there are other holes in the case. A good detective would know that. A good detective wouldn't even ask for charges on two third party admissions without any other physical evidence to back up those third parties.
So quit crying about how the Skull screwed this case up. The people at 35th and Michigan screwed this case up by tying the hands of the A/4 Detectives.

However, let me make one thing crystal clear, the men who are being replaced are honorable men and each has chosen to step aside for what we all agree is for the best of the CPD. Why does 009, 007, and almost every other district have plenty of personell working on 1st watch (just USM G/ on 1st watch crew and confirm). If Weis wears a uniform, it's OK by me as long as he obtained certification as a peace officer. I believe as a federally trained agent he could obtain either a waiver or certification from the state. And Feds are the same fucking way. If you think a Fed only wants to screw you over, then you're a tool. Remember this important point: We deal with the most mundane to the most horrific situations. From the bullshit parker, to the stone cold killer who just killed a kid. We can use discretion for the parker, but no where would any of us think to not lock up the killer. All of us have certain lines that cannot be crossed. Some more serious, some less serious, but there are situations where any of us would lock up another copper.
On the Fed level however, they don't deal with "parkers"...they deal with serious shit. Shit that's serious enough that no one can let you go for it. That's why they bury you if you fuck up. If you fuck up that bad, then fuck you!! I don't want any copper on this job who's a dope slinger, thief, home invader, murderer, or anything else along that line. If you're a criminal with a badge, fuck you!
For my money, so far, Weis is doing a decent job of it. I'm hopeful he'll maintain the autonomy that it appears he has and makes the appropriate changes. Working coppers who do their job, and don't lump people or steal don't have anything to worry about. Most of the beefs come from dogs.

You are an idiot and must not work in 008. We have at least 5 cars down on mids on the weekend. In case you didn't know we have to live in the city and the tax paying p.o.'s and other residents on west 008 would like to see the neighborhood stay safe. Obviously it's not really the beat cars fault since they get pulled east, but, extra cars working west stopping the assholes driving/walking through would have an affect on crime you asshat. I don't know any of the new Deputy Superintendent's personally, nor have I worked in any capacity with either of them. However, I have one basic problem with their meteoric ascension of the corporate ladder – their alleged academic credentials. Who the "f" cares if you have obtained a graduate degree from either Calumet College or Lewis University. Anyone with half a brain knows a down syndrome 6th grader could receive a degree from either of these repositories of idiocy. By even admitting that your graduate degree was received from either of these less then prestigious bastions of higher education disgraces you. Both of these programs are run by ex CPD fools who pass out these parchments like Valentines Day Cards in a kindergarten class. My daughter’s mind is tested at a considerably higher in her daily classes at St. Ignatius. A degree from these mindless mills is about as credible as one from Chicago State. I guess it’s a case of “no idiot clout baby left behind.”
PS: don’t know Peterson but I will give him his due. Over 30 years on this job still means something.
