Anti Gun Nuts Frothing
We aren't getting Concealed Carry here. Not yet anyway. But our friends, families and neighbors won't have to fear being labeled criminals for having the means to defend themselves in their homes anymore. We're checking the sales on "street sweepers" next week.
The Supreme Court hasn't even ruled on the DC Gun ban and already the softballs are out in force predicting anarchy, bloodbath and disorder. They completely miss the fact that 48 states already have Concealed Carry or Shall Issue and not a single one of them turned into Dodge City. Hell, they didn't even turn into Detroit or Chicago or Washington DC.
The only place gun violence went up was in placed that banned guns.
The gun ban is going to be struck down in DC. There's no question about it. And that is going to provide Second Amendment advocates with a precedent to bring down Chicago's gun ban. The people backing Heller in the DC case have already said they're coming to town and we for one are hoping the NRA is going to fund them adequately. We're setting aside contributions already.

Nothing will happen in Chicago. There is a federal law about being an illegal alien but Chicago doesn't abide by that. Chicago gets to pick and choose which laws are enforced. So thinking da mayor will give in to the lobbyist is just silly, silly, silly.

What the anti's don't want publicized is that it was a bunch of liberals that started this case. They wanted poor DC residents to be able to protect themselves because the DC Metro force is not exactly the most competent police force in the country. It reflects the local DC government, which is a total disaster.

While the Supreme Court was hearing arguments on Washington, D.C.'s gun ban, Rich, "The Bitch" Daley was in Los Angeles visiting with his sanctuary city counterpart, trying to drum up support their gun-grabbing legislation. the two compadres don't think it's important to enforce immigration laws, but firearms are a different matter. By the way, was "The Bitch" accompanied to LA by his usual posse of armed bodyguards? Guns are OK when protecting his sorry ass, but not acceptable for the proletariat.
Take a little stroll down Theological Lane with me. In reading The Catechism of the Catholic Church we find the following.
Paragraph 2264. Love toward oneself remains a fundamental principle of morality. Therefore it is legitimate to insist on respect for one's own right to life. Someone who defends his life is not guilty of murder even if he is forced to deal his aggressor a lethal blow:
If a man in self-defense uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repels force with moderation, his defense will be lawful.... Nor is it necessary for salvation that a man omit the act of moderate self-defense to avoid killing the other man, since one is bound to take more care of one's own life than of another's.[65]
Self defense is OK, heck, not just OK, it's required. But we already knew that.
Paragraph 2263. The legitimate defense of persons and societies is not an exception to the prohibition against the murder of the innocent that constitutes intentional killing. "The act of self-defense can have a double effect: the preservation of one's own life; and the killing of the aggressor.... The one is intended, the other is not."[65]
'Double effect'. Learn it, love it.
Paragraph 2265. Legitimate defense can be not only a right but a grave duty for someone responsible for another's life. Preserving the common good requires rendering the unjust aggressor unable to inflict harm. To this end, those holding legitimate authority have the right to repel by armed force aggressors against the civil community entrusted to their charge.[66]
In my understanding, "legitimate authority" also mean heads of households, heads of family. So, what I get out of this is that we have a "Sacred Duty" to protect those in our charge, those who are weak, those who are unwilling or unable to defend themselves. Isn't this all part of living out the Vocation of a Police Officer? The Vocation of a head of family.
So, I guess that the Catechism and Fr. Pfleger are at odds with one another on the topic of self defense. I choose to follow Rome, and not some heretical leaning priest.

The 2nd Amendment doesn't say "guns" it says "arms." It does not say what kinds of arms we can have. So we obviously have the right to own nuclear arms, right? Fuckin A Right!!! I'm digging for my backyard Minuteman ICBM silo right now.
You can't hug your kids with nuclear arms, but they sure come in handy for protecting the home.

The cities with the strictest gun ban laws have the highest gun violence. No reason to have Pookie, Mookie, G-Rock, and Killa know that the house they are about to rob probably does not have any guns, so they can rob, rape, and pillage in peace.

I've got a great idea for Chicagoans to show their support for Mayor Daley's anti-gun laws.
Have everyone put a big sign in the windows of their homes proudly reading "NO FIREARMS IN THIS HOUSE". We should also continue having citizens marching through the bad neighborhoods chanting "Stop the Violence."
My daddy has a friend who is a Chicago police officer. He liked my sign in the window idea with one proviso. He insists on sitting behind the closed door with a racked 12 gauge shotgun in his lap.
I tried to tell him he might hurt or even kill a young person who has "a lapse in judgment". He just laughed.

The anti-gun crowd always cries for the public and safety of everyone, but they've never been able to give me a good enough reason for taking away my right to defend myself or my family.
There has been numerous scenarios about Pookie, Mookie, G-Rock, and Killa getting guns since the Supreme Court hearings. What law stops them from getting guns now? Laws don't stop criminals, that's why they're criminals. You know, a criminal is someone who doesn't follow the law. Current laws only stop law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves.

Concealed carry in Chicago. That would be great. I can see all the idiots driving down the Dan Ryan because of road rage. Idiots shooting the meter reader from Peoples gas cause they are in their yard. Shooting the repo man when he's taking pookies car for not paying the note. It will be real interesting if they allow conceal carry. I can see lifting the ban owning a gun in the city but no way in hell can they allow conceal carry.
Guns as protection against attackers? How about asking Mike Mette how his self defense case went, he didn't even use a gun and was sentenced to 5 years.
