Why even bother firing corrupt employees when the Mayor owns the courts?
- A Chicago city employee who was fired from her job in the inspector general's office after being arrested for shoplifting was acquitted Thursday of the charge, her attorney said Friday.
Tracy Buckley, 36, who was an assistant chief investigator, was charged with misdemeanor theft after about $100 worth of merchandise was stolen from a Whole Foods Market, 6020 N. Cicero Ave., in January.
Her attorney, Ron Menaker, said Judge Stuart Katz found Buckley not guilty of the charge Thursday.
Menaker had argued that there was an "innocent explanation" for Buckley's actions. She had inadvertently attempted to leave the store with the merchandise to retrieve her debit card from her vehicle in the parking lot, he said.
Of course, now she'll sue for her job back, and she'll probably win a reinstatement along with back pay. But you or us wandering out past the last point of payment with $100 worth of groceries? We'd be lucky to get just thirty pending.

It was 4 officers from SOS that made the Keystone Discovery.
And yes ONE of the officers involved ended up in trouble YEARS later and went to prison and has been released recently. It had nothing to do with the Keystone case.
One other officer retired years later as a decorated police officer.
The last two are both Detectives, one female in A/1 and one male in A/2. I know both of these detectives and both are very decorated officers who have done so much as law enforcement officers. So thanks for blasting the officers who were involved in this matter by bringing up an unrelated cop gone bad. At the time this happened, the US President then, Bill Clinton gave a press conference on it. When was the last time a US President talked about something you did on this job asshat!
So get your story straight before you slur your fellow officers. Maybe it would be ok for your kid or kids to be sleeping in shit in a filthy apartment but at least these cops did try to do the right thing at the time. They could of just walked away without doing anything and nobody would of been wiser. But some of us cops aren;t lazy asses and try to actually help especially when children are involved.
It was 1994, the house was a big dope house, combined welfare income to the house which was revealed at court was over $5,500.00 a month between the three welfare mothers which didn't include the narcotic selling income. And those kids were forced to live in conditions I hope even you would never be forced to live in!

Meanwhile, Herr Hoffman (von Wicker Park) seems to be cut from the same cloth as J-Fraud, which accounts for the permeation of mismanagement that each and every one of us are forced to endure.
In the end, they are but pawns in Der McFührer's glorified, yet thoroughly inept strategy for the world's abomination (of him and his ilk) in the very near future.

Well in the past i would have stopped this asshole a million times over and went through him. Jimmy Carroll was also the one who pulled Jerry Finnegan to his 8th dist tactical team, then pulled him over to Airports/Midway when Carroll made C/O of Midway. This guy was not the brightest bulb around. Jimmy thought because he had Cline in one pocket and Molloy in his other pocket he was untouchable and treated others that weren't in his click as he was an evil god.

Immigration is not the issue here. the real issue is that an innocent person got killed why? because some gangbangers were shooting at each other. I know just about ALL the female/single mother CAPS officers on the westside and southside districts bring their kids to work. They think that is a benefit of the CAPS program for them.

Myself and 2 other units had 3 robbery offenders in custody and an excellent victim (gave positive i.d. on all three without hesitation, AND knew exactly what each one did). When the detectives called for felony approval, they said the ASA was very shakey, and almost waffled on them after finally approving charges! Unbelieveable!! If it had been an officer that was being prosecuted the ASA wouldn't have given it a second thought! The criminals have more rights in this country than any law-abidding citizen (especially police) I know. I'll be collecting my pension from Canada when I retire!
And she will sue Whole Foods for millions and will get it because this is Crook County. Welcome to Crook County retail stores. This about it Walmart.

Yeah OK...thats all an ASA would need to know after a guy gets nailed for a DUI. The state would come after you cause your a cop, owning a bar, and you over served him. If he killed someone, even worse. The ASA's would probably love for coppers to own bars! Its better off we can't own bars.

It was a county sheriff. It was a guy who got in a car accident with his own wife following behind her near the courthouse in Bridgerview about 2 years ago, if I remember right. Poor guy had lots of trouble dealing with it.
Please talk to soemone folks. Pressure gets to everyone sooner or later, but it is never so serious as to kill yourself. Get help, it is there. I know several people who have used Employee Assistance, completely confidential. They are fantastic, and are fellow officers who understand the unique stresses of our job.
OT, but interesting: worked housing yesterday. PO assigned to Midway related that IAD was "breaking into lockers" the previous day (Thursday, 27 Mar 08). Uh Oh!!!!!

While conducting a search for police personnel yesterday..I realized that there's more hidden to the eye...
Well they just sent 50 out for a 90 day detail and you still can't find any parking in the lot.
So I wander around the building to see were they might be hiding. To my amazement there aren't that many visible police in the hallways, offices, cubicles or cafeteria. So where are they?
The First's Office he's got a load of useless waste manning what CAPS? Why do you need 25 district CPO's and then a CPD CAPS Project Office at headquarters for? What projects have they completed in the last two years. We do not need that unit at all send them back to the streets.
BOP more waste send half of them back to the streets too. Abandoned Building Unit? Every district should have an officer to handle that why do we need another unit downtown doing the same thing? Send them out to the streets.
Need to look more...DOC and that useless CPIC. There's about 50 more bodies for the streets.
BIS not much...mostly detectives, girlfriends or wives of bosses.
BAS now there's a haven. Wow you could man a whole watch at a district with all those spots there. What are they doing playing with computers? Come on hire some civilians for all that tech work its cheaper. What! They got two sworn full-time to make sure the bosses blackberries work? Wow another huge waste of sworn personnel they both got a few years on the job. Can't Operational Command personnel or the Help Desk do that function? They even got more doing stupid computer applications entry functions again any civilian can do that work cheaper. PODS give it to the OEMC. Let the retired coppers play video voyager.
Medical Section got too many people behind the desk walking around like zombies. And waiting times haven't improved. How many PO's they got there? Finance? Why is there any sworn in Finance, Payroll or Personnel?
I bet you could squeeze 250 sworn personnel out of the building without effecting operations or security. The problem is the bosses think they need all these people. The truth is all they are doing is taking care of these people for clout reasons only.
The bosses don't need personal chauffeurs and gofers either. I'll never respect a boss who doesn't drive them self, get their own gas and do their own shopping.
Shut down the stupid 90-days of wasted time at Closed Market detail, Shut down TRU. Restore the all DISTRICTs back to appropriate man power levels. Hold district commanders response for the crime without downtown's influence getting in the way.
Reduce the amount of exempt positions and redundant work we all do every day.

Between 1800 hrs Friday and 0100 hrs Sat (7 hour span) no less than 9 people were shot in Area 2!
3 incidents with 2 people shot and other single victim shootings.

I for one will blame everything on the ASA's. They never want to go to trial. The guy will take a plea if we drop it to a misdemeanor. Hell NO take it to trial. The defendant wouldn't get that option if he or she was a Chicago Police Officer.

He's from 014, owns a "construction" company and numerous buildings in 014 that he takes care of while working. Rumor is he uses day laborers from 017 to work, asks for their social security cards at the end of the day, and then refuses to pay them when they don't have them. And still manages to get back on the job after lying about how his car was stolen and never reported it. This job has gone to shit. I wanna be a Taxi Driver. But it's in the same rule that states we can't own/operate or be employed at place that primarily serves/sells liquor. But Taxi driver? We can drive limo's and buses. Why not taxi cabs. I can drop people off at different places other than district lock up. It gets boring going to the same place day after day. I'll carry my gun and shoot back if I'm shot at.

You are not the police. I bet a lawyer that's mad because the police don't want to work and get sued. These recruits are smart. Why work when they'll be in court for trying to be the police. This town whants tickets and paper work, el checks and missions thats it.
Even when the police do it right they still get jammed up.
No more lawsuits or CR #'s on nonsense.
ANY Chicago/Cook County area Police Officer charged with a crime should be allowed to be tried in a court outside of CROOK County Jurisdiction. It's already common knowledge that this City/County is Corrupt to the gills, and a fair trial here for a P.O. is virtually impossible.
A retired po who was arrested on bullshit felony charges can attest to the ccsa office. My case has been dragging on in court for over three years. First a deal was "offered
' for jail time to be involved. Then they withdrew that "offer". Back to court again! They are the worst people you can imagine. They treat violent criminals better than the police. Coppers beware!
The judge let her go because she was wearing an Obama T-shirt when she was arrested.
He did not want to make the second coming angry.

I wanna be a Taxi Driver. But it's in the same rule that states we can't own/operate or be employed at place that primarily serves/sells liquor. But Taxi driver? We can drive limo's and buses. Why not taxi cabs. I can drop people off at different places other than district lock up. It gets boring going to the same place day after day. I'll carry my gun and shoot back if I'm shot at.

Those rules would never stand up in court challenge. They, the Department, does not want us to steal but they want to dictate how we make money off duty.
If it is not illegal we should be able to do it.
