Well, Mr Mayor, if you hadn't driven this entire department into the ground with your constant meddling, your over promotion of pompous coat holders and door openers (starting with Townsend) and proceeding through the decades making 30% of all bosses who were relatives, cousins, political players, baby sitters, boyhood friends, bartenders, mistresses and general all around incompetent boobs, then we wouldn't be having these problems today, would we?
We didn't invent the problems. We didn't even create the atmosphere which allowed the problems to flourish and birth new problems. That was you and your organization. And now in this new age of internet media that you cannot control, we can expose what 20+ years of stupidity has done to what used to be a great career and turned in into a ruin from which it may never recover.

You make the Dept. look bad. You do not care about your police force.
You allow contracts to run out and take forever to settle them. That is gratitude for all the men and women out there doing a good job?
1.1% increase for pay? C'mon man. It is an insult what you pay Weis but won't pay our police officers. The health insurance plan is becoming worse. You want people to be happy? Be a good boss and support your employees. Speak out in the media more often on their behalf. Give them equal time to the reverends.
I am a cop's wife. I see Weis wearing a uniform he did not go through a rigorous academy to earn. He sent in a resume. He has not put his life on the line in or for Chicago.
Stand up for your officers. Most of them are not bad people. They chose this job true but any good boss knows how to be a good boss and treat his employees well.
From my perspective you are a terrible boss. You have no one to blame but yourself for anything written about you and how you run your city. You and your actions alone are really what make the Dept. look bad.

Let the crime go nuts, when you scare and don't support the police, fuck the merit system, its the fear of losing everything to lower crime for a thankless city, and public that hates it police dept. Just notice, the jury decisions in cook co. Would you want your decision in the hands of a cook co jury? NO.

Allow me this information if you will, and let me preface it by saying it is just an IMHO type of comment...
Nobody, I mean nobody it the past 15 years that I have been on the CPD has ever gone through a rigorous academey to get on this just.
We went through the Chicago training Division Academy - and that on it's hardest day, was a cake walk.
Granted, I was prior military service, so it was really easy for me and others from the military, but even the college kids did not think it was hard.
I know back in the day it was a joke too, but acording to the CPD vets, a lot of those guys came from Vietnam. So, ANYTHING they went through would have been a cake walk.
I just wish our academy was not filled up with clout filled instructers and maybe we had some good people in there, like the ISP, or better yet have it run the LA County, CA or Mesa County, AZ academies.
Just my two cents....I stand behind your original comments but I just wanted to point that out to you. As a cop's wife you might not have known.

Cops got settlements regarding Shakman. Does that mean police promotions were political? The union should have a stance on this issue. The union was NOT involved in any of these cases.

Narcotics Reunion flyer. I only know six of the names on the flyer but all six were pretty damn good coppers. Why would anyone have a problem with that?
J-Fed went through the FBI academy which is physically a whole lot tougher than ours.
J-Fed also got himself certified as a peace officer in Illinois. Illinois will take lateral certifications from peace officers of other jurisdictions if they're hired by a department, and pass a written exam. He did all of that.
So he wears the uniform, big fucking deal! Worry about how he runs the department and not some chickenshit crybaby shit that he's wearing the uniform.

I beg to differ. Academy is the finest institution in the country. Instructors tell us every day. We are the finest department in the country. They tell us every day. In fact, instructors tell us they are the best every day. You must be wrong. The best group of stff and supervisiors, really.

Few options available to make improvements at academy. Drawing attention to problems might force changes and make improvements. Same leader, same staff same training. FTO program in shambles. New leader with new, innovative ideas and modern law enforcement training techniques. Status quo not acceptable. Maybe a new commander already exists at academy? Promote from within and move academy forward. Hiring a fed is not the answer. Changes are essential for future.
I hope Mark Donahue is getting very close to directing the FOP's labor attorney to declaring an impasse and filing for arbitration.
I then further hope that the union schedule informational picketing against the City on a regular basis and all you officers who complain so bitterly can get your chance to walk the picket line and carry a sign and do it week in and week out until the contract is settled.
WE are the union, so WE must all get involved. All we can do under the law is to conduct informational picketing and we should do it constantly.
Has J-Fraud had "work" done on his face? He looks a lil like Joan Crawford on a bad day.

That is because half the people in the academy are fucking retards. I didn't study for shit and I passed everything. Believe me I ain't no genious(sub2.5 college GPA). Don't let me get started on the physical aspect of the academy. We were doing step aerobics for balls sake.

If they couldn't cut it in the academy they couldn't have been very bright, because the academy staff sure managed to pull some dim bulbs through that decidedly un-rigorous training. By the way, before you insult my intelligence, please learn to spell "Harvard."
