You mean bring over the mayors picks. The old days of one for da mare, one for da alderman, one for da CO, just may be over. Rumor has it you had to be MORE than just an ald. to make a CO in the last round! The mayor knows he doesn't need anything from these DEM alderpeople anymore.

No doubt that we need promotions at all ranks. Why are we not being allowed to use the $ that is budgeted to our department to fill these spots....... but we have plenty of dough for Olympic research and trips,etc.
With this last round of promotions the districts (not units of course) are stretched thin on supervisors. Lieutenants being detailed all over the place to cover the shortfall of watch commanders. Just wait till furloughs kick in. 021 doesn't even have a Captain because all three are on medical.
LT Ingram, better known as Lil' Wade will be going to TRU on Thursday to work with his boy, Commander Williams, better known as Lil' Sherwood.
Look for transfers out of TRU within two to three periods of Lil' Wade's arrival.
Lil' Wade is a political hack, with a BS resume, while Lil' Sherwood's redemmeing qulaities are that he went to Mount Carmel and that he is "tight" with Todd Stroger.
Not an ounce of police knowledge with either of these two, but they can tell the stories of their greatness. Just give them a chance and you will see, they WILL tell you about when they were the poleece.
Its all a matter of suction.

J-Fed...Please do something about the Captains if you want to send a message...The shakeup of the commanders are just a start...you need to move captains....commanders do not see the day to day operations like captains do...they are the ones responsible for taking "care " of the watches...and if there is any favortisim going on it starts there not with a commander...Commanders are just a figurehead...the captains are in control of day to day operations..You need to shake up that rank so the patrol division is looked upon as being more trusted...Start making the change
I don't know about any changes or promotions, but I hope that J-Fed can take this opportunity to right some wrongs.
For instance, Cpt. L in 016 1st watch was treated very poorly after incident in 010. It was wrong to dump him to 016 for stepping on his dick (happens to the best of us).He's a southsider and should be with his people. He's had a hard time adjusting to life on the northside. He's not familiar with how we normally do things and has been making a debacle out of the watch. It's not his fault though, he's suffering from dementia from being too far north of Roosevelt. It happens to most Southsiders. Very sad.
J-Fed, please make this right by sending Capt. L back to south side where he belongs.

J-Fraud takes his marching orders from the lil stuttering prick on the 5th floor, like all the rest. Nothing has changed except J-Fraud is way deeper in our taxpaying packets and looks way goofier in uniform than any supt. in recent memory.
I work midnights in 006 and we are down Sgts. We generally have an outside sgt. assigned to us for the day, which sucks b/c you do not this person. Guys in 005 and 004 say the same thing. I can not believe 003 is any better. The Dicks in Area 2 say their down, too. They made 55 Lts. last year and only 50 Sgts. Is there shortage? Or is it just these district? Are you guys short sgts. up north? It seems 006, 005 and 004 could use easily use 8 Sgts. each.

No wholesale movement of Captains. J-Fed wants.to know if Lts. can be watch cmdrs. instead and Capts be COs in specialized units. No tact lts., the tact teams report to the WCs the way they're supposed to. More city hall control over Capts then.

In order to go to executive management class you must be a sergeant and you must be on the list for lieutenant. Doesn't matter where you are on the list but you had to be on the list. This school is not the same as the Northwestern Traffic Management development course which all sergeants, Lts. and Capts. can apply for.

Captain Ahab to get our new Whaling ship, Pequod. I saw the order personally. He's supposed tobe really driven.

Valleyfield wanted to get fired, I worked with and around him in 007 he was an idiot.
Terry Williams was a sleeper, on midnights in 007 his partner and he would sleep on 72nd street just east of Ashland and the midnight watch commander saved him on more then one occasion from being red lined. The midnight watch commanders name was Acosta.
By the way I think Commander Terry Williams may have been on Behavior Alert a couple of times as well. For brutality I believe.
Be that as it may Valleyfield although he may have been a decent guy should never have been the police.
JPW has really changed things around here. 25% of the last lieutenant's class has already been detailed or transferred from their original units of assignment to "spots". Four of the five are out of patrol in two periods.

Academy is the last unit to be told anything. They are notified when the promotional list is out. Then the well oiled machine will start to teach new sgts. A crack crew will organize the best classes possible for new sgts. OMG!

Actually 14, if you factor in the 6 for 30% merit. Who knows what list they came off of.
There are two Captains in 021 on the medical not three. Capt. Town and his replacement who never showed up, Capt. Kolman or whatever her name is. Martinez from days made Commander and position not covered yet, but what a relief!!!!
I'm sure old "Whiskeybreath" Glombicki would love 021. Maybe then J-Fed could put up a Dui enforcement roadblock and nail his drunken ass.
