- One answer to curbing Chicago's gun violence, according to police, is putting officers on the streets dressed in full battle gear and traveling in vehicles normally used in hostage and barricade situations.
"I think it acts as deterrent," Chicago Police Dept. Supt. Jody Weis said. "The first thought is that it's SWAT and they've backed off. I think the deterrent factor is important."
Excuse us for a moment - bwahahahahahaha! They think it's SWAT? But doesn't SWAT wear green now? And what's the deterrent factor if you're telling Channel 2 and they're broadcasting it as the lead story?

But she actually gets J-Fed to respond to her wild accusations!

A nice failure to mention why Hill is an ex police officer. Point to Pat Hill for getting the Superintendent of Police to actually treat her like she means anything. J-Fed is in so far over his head, it's almost sad. Almost.

The real deterrent was the fear of getting some candy from the po-po! But we can't do street adjustments anymore so there you have it. no uniform will scare the professional bullies.
I was there for the ODRC for Weis, media, et al. It was truly a sight to behold. Approximately 150 TRU, multiple SWAT, and several Tact/Gang/D-unit guys were assembled for a "Ra-Ra" speech that no one could hear because the exempts couldn't find the volume knob on their bullhorn, nor could they use their "police voices". Since many media folk were in attendance, we were then given an order to caravan/wolfpack through the streets of 004 with our lights and sirens on...ALL of us... as a "show of force". (or should I say FARCE!) It lasted approximately 20 minutes, and it turned into a huge traffic jam / entertainment source for every drunk shithead on the street. Aint nuttin like drinkin a 40oz and watchin the keystone cops! After all was said and done, we did our victory lap past the bosses and I swear to God, I never laughed so hard. We are led by complete goofs!
Supt. Weis, I sincerely hope you read this, or someone close to you tells you what is written on this blog. We, the CPD, have no faith in you and we dont respect you.

Hill was fired because she refused to take the random drug test. (I wonder why????) She was then reinstated by the police board and shortly thereafter, she retired.

I had the pleasure of being present once when Pat Hill was spouting of using $25 words all over the place to put her education and intelligence on display. Finally, a ranking member of the police dept. called her on it when she used the word "dichotomy" in asking a question of those present. He kept telling her that no one could answer her question because it made no sense because she was using the word incorrectly, completing changing the meaning and apparent intent of her question. Watching her stick to her guns when everyone in the room knew she was wrong was hilarious. It was priceless.

Nevr in all my years have I seen so many coppers at an outdoor rollcall. You forgot to mention all the beat cars ordered from all over Area 2. I saw guys I haven't seen in years. Reminded me of St. Jude's...only smaller. Besides TRU, SFG, SWAT, Area Gangs and Saturation, there were beat and tact cars from 003, 004, 005, 006 and 022. Hell, there were over 400 coppers at the rollcall. The caravan was HUGE!
My ears were deafened by the sirens. It definitely pissed off the 'hood, which was the sole reason to violate their rights.
The bosses said we should ENGAGE the community. Stop them and look for guns. Why? Supposedly 14 guns have been taken off 004's streets in the past two days. Is that all?

I was hoping that when Weis took over, he would do things that someone with his experience and an outside view would do. Things such as eliminating some clout. Trying to get the department more manpower and equipment. The types of a things a good manager (experience I thought he had) would do. The only problem is that now he's stepping into territory he knows nothing about. It has nothing to do with being a "big city" cop. It has to do with being a police officer in general. He's never attended an actual police academy, and I would venture to guess has virtually zero experience in how to actually police an area. I'd like to know what part of the city he buys his crack in if he feels that "Swat" teams and "Tru" units driving around in high crime neighborhoods is a deterrant. When was the last time "Swat" or "Tru" actually made a street stop (one nickle bag of weed from a traffic stop doesn't count) did a decent investigation and came in with a warrant or some type of arrest. Or tell me when they last did a general offense report when they onviewed a crime. Gangbangers aren't effected by this. They are effected by disruption of their business and activities. Take some general policing class Weis then start playing with our day to day patrol operations.
I worked on the 2nd watch in the duece with Hill & Pillows. Useless as could be. They never responded to and assist or 10-1. If you were their assist car on a domestic take your time getting there. They would make sure they were never there first. We had many M/2 officers that were excellent P.O.'s than didn't want anything to do with either of them.
CPD should patrol like the British army did in Belfast.
