Well done. I think TRU is a waste of manpower and most of those kiddies think their poop doesn't stink. HOWEVER, if they can manage to escape to a place that has good food and no supervision for an hour or two, good for them. And good for the bosses not hitting them for congregating. Why one officer gives a crap where another eats lunch is beyond me. If there are five cars in the lot, one more wont make a difference, especially if it is in your own district. In summary, WHO CARES where anyone eats!
Off Topic, but interesting: Word from an extremely reliable inside source says desk crews in a few "prototype" districts will be required to wear microphones (like on traffic stops) to monitor "verbal exchanges" with the citizenry. It seems as though the rumors of IAD investigators coming into desks/asking for service/paper was for monitoring use of language, politeness, etc. was indeed true, and this use of recording interactions with the community at the desk is an attempt to rectify shortcomings rather than initiate Summary Punishment for dropping an occasional F-Bomb when making out pookie's Domestic Battery report and not giving her the D.I.N.

SCC dont take this as another "whining" mounted unit officer. The post from a previous thread about Dana's girl coming to the unit had an informative two-fold purpose. The first thing being that certain bosses downtown informed the CO of the mounted unit that this officer was coming to the unit,period. The decisions of the trainers as to her being unqualified and the final determinations of some of the supervisors, were overruled. This officer being able to circumvent the judgement of the trainers and mounted unit supervisors to gain entrance into a specialized unit involving an increase in pay, sets a precedent. The mounted unit blueshirts recieve D2a. Hence the question as to the spelling of grievance. So now any officer that applied to the mounted unit, the marine unit, bomb and arson, swat or any unit that has a process involving assessment and testing can now grieve the whole process and say, "Well the guy that tested me for that unit just didnt like me and I know I belong in that unit." This is a can of worms for downtown but I guess their thinking is that this will pass under the radar if the rank and file doesnt hear of it. This isnt about race within the unit, although one guy decided to make it seem that way. In conclusion, to the guy that gave a list of ten things to "whine" about, dont be an idiot. Your list doesnt mean squat to downtown and if you think your "whining" here is going to make them magically appear under the Christmas tree, you are soft. A possible ruling in favor of grievants by an arbitrator involving a pay increase, thats what I'm talking about. can we still complain when they come t our district and 6 cars are down on the same arrest. and that they hit print 15 times with no paper in it, then when someone puts the paper in the printer copies are flying everywhere. then when you look for dope bags and anything else it is nowhere to be found (that includes working computers) or when you see 12 -15 cars out front of the station but only 4 heads.

Couldn't have said it better. Those guys went out on a daily basis and cracked heads and didn't play games. Gangbangers and dealers new when ops was around and knew not to play games. One unit the a 1/3 of the size of TRU recoverd 5-7 times as many guns. Numbers on New years when TRU was in 11 and 15 with 3 platoons (almost 3 times and many people as the SOS)and SOS was in 5 for new years 07. SOS had 5 times as many guns.
Sure there was a team of misfits that ruined it for everyone. Not everyone in the SOS was a theif. SOS was some of THE BEST COPPURS IN THE CITY. Don't get me wrong there are great coppurs all over the city that never had the chance to get there, ,but when you put a large group of great coppurs that are there for the unit, for their partners and members, and a person you can rely on when the SHIT HITS THE FAN things get done because they enjoy it and want to work. Take all that comrodery and trust away like they did and the party is over. FUCK THE CITY AND THE SHITHEADS 1st and 16th along with some of the 7th's and 22nd's. No more pookie chasin for this former SOS guy.
No sgt's until june or july the city has no money, unless you count all the new exempt postitions Jfed has made up. This dept is so top heavy that it should fall over. We could use a couple of more exempts that dont do anything Sgt's that actually work the street and manage the dept day to day the hell with them.

Everyone bitches about TRU being Prima Donna's to me the were never bigger Prima Donnas then SOS and before that Gangs South North and West at least TRU will write a ticket, the only MOST not ALL of those guys would write is either their names on the narrative section of an arrest report, or on the back of a contact card and say, "Put me on the paper kid."
The best street policemen on this job are the guys who work tact in a district for more then ten years. By far the best policemen on this job.
If I could put my hood up and do home invasion or hook someone up and put nine 44 beats on the paper cause my China Man was looking out for me I would think my shit did not stink either.

Yes, we will have a sgt class. Sometime soon in the near future, a new sgt class between 50-100 possibly with detective training, but maybe not. In future, a detective class soon in the next few months. WTF! When the list is published, then we know for sure. Get a life. By the way, asking academy is a waste of time. They are the last to know anything. Training a priority? BS!
The only time I ever heard the phrose "they put a case on me", was when the elite S.O.S. was in the district. No wonder they're all getting indicted.

I DONT CARE what anyone says, SOS was the real deal, yah I'm sure Gangs West and South were too. But dude on the corner knew the 4400 cars, either being from 015 all the way into 005. They put mo fo's in prison who belonged there! No 1 bag B.S., remember, there were over 200 quality P.O.'s over there when they were in their prime, and only one bad team!
YOU have to get your hands a lil dirty when dealing with scum, Mr. Daley, take the gloves off of these veteran coppers and back them up, then you will see a reduction in crime and murder, until then, the city is screwed!!!

I was working midnights in 003 last year and we stopped this one guy and he said "ya'll must be them west side boys." Referring to SOS. Looked at our beat and said "aw, naw it ain't them, they don't play."
It is true, SOS was known on the streets and WERE needed. Unfortunately they're gone. And quite frankly, unfortunately TRU is also pretty much gone. When 003 blows up sometime this summer, we're not going to have any help to clamp down on shit. Same thing will happen in every other ghetto ass district.

This is good stuff. P/O's ratting out other P/O's. P/O's braggig about becoming Sgt's and others constantly whinning about what they don't have and others do. Seriously, you guys need to get laid because you sound like a bunch of little bitches who need to be a little more concerned about yourselfs rather than what other people do.
TRU strikes again I went to get a haircut and my free hair gel and tru had 8 cars there waiting in line, the only good thing is that no food was served or consumed...
Couldn't have said it better. Those guys went out on a daily basis and cracked heads and didn't play games. Gangbangers and dealers new when ops was around and knew not to play games. One unit the a 1/3 of the size of TRU recoverd 5-7 times as many guns. Numbers on New years when TRU was in 11 and 15 with 3 platoons (almost 3 times and many people as the SOS)and SOS was in 5 for new years 07. SOS had 5 times as many guns.
Yeah if TRU could all wear black hoodies, kidnap people and take there house keys as well as H/i's they would have the same numbers, hell anyone would. TRU is supervised, something SOS never was, all TRU numbers were legit t-stops or street stops and warrants; now they do nothing as 90 some people await there fate, this city gets the police it screamed for, do-nothings! watch it fall like a house of cards...

In all honesty, I haven't heard it since SOS has been disbanded. Coincidence ? Go figure........
If SOS were so fucking good, then how come they were not able to find the worst criminals of all.......the ones sitting next to them at rollcall!!! If the majority of them were the elite and the best police in the city, then why would they not see what was going on all around them....if they didn't see it, they were just blind or stupid (therefore not elite at all) and that I can excuse but if they did see it going on or know it was going on and not do anything about it, then they are no longer blind and stupid, they are criminal themselves for not doing anything about it.
Either way, they were either incompetent or criminal but certainly not better than any honest cop trying to do his job with bad leadership, bad training, bad equipment and absolutley no support from the city, the bosses or the citizens and who put us in that situation.....crooked cops and bad apples such as the gang teams and SOS.

Shortage of P.O.'s no classes in academy, no Sgts.or Det.'s going to be promoted any time soon, the thinking is why deplete whats already depleted,sitting at about 200 don't think they'll get past 150 as a new test will be administered because of the length of time going by.
YOU couldn't be more wrong no new tests for anything coming soon the mayor is cutting spending across the board, this time he is including police and fire, all departments must cut back 3 to 5 percent , was in paper. if the police spending is included that won't make any new tests anytime soon , or promotions either!

Heard the same from reliable source in da mayors office, all has to do w/dinero and some investigation on cheating, I'm in low 200's and was kind of told that they won't even come close to that number
Not one thing posted on this sight which concerns the sgt.'s list has been right. So I won't believe a damn thing until I get my orders to show up to the academy or I hear the list is officially torn down.
Too many people think that they are in the know or are messing with other people.
