Thank God she is okay, and I hope the PPO receives our support. Remember, before you judge, this type of incident could happen to any of us, as either the dischargee, or the discharger, especially with a pit bull charging after your ass and ending up solidly between your ass and your partner's ass, and the only choice is to cap the pit bull's ass!!

What's wrong with congratulsting someone for doing a good job, even if "it's their job?" You sound like one of those stroke do nothing sergeants that won;t put their guys in for awards because that's their job. You are an ass.

On channel 5 , one of the people interviewed said "At first I thought it was a person shot, thank god it wasn't." Since when is a police officer not a person????????????????

Very hard to shoot a charging dog. When I was a K-9 officer with a different dept we did an demo where an offender attempted to shoot a charging dog with a paint ball gun. 0 hit the dog out of 3 tries. Thats why we have shotguns in the racks at the station rusting. A shotgun could have prevented that officer from being shot period. A pattern of 00 buck shot whould have done the trick, game over. Get qualified with the shotgun, ask the W/C to sign one out, if he refuses to let you, document it. Hell of a lawsuit if you get attacked by a dog or worse. Food for thought.

Glad the coppers are ok. Great response by partner---WE ARE PAID TO ACT,
sometimes excrement happens. The "shootee" gets a nice vacation. THe shooter should get at least a honorable and the owner should be arrested.

p.s. I think the shooter owes her partner lunch :)

I wonder if the copper who shot gave the pitbull the tactical 8 step and gave a reason for the stop first.

Do they each get 3 days off for being involved in a police shooting? If so, I'm gonna shoot my partner, then. I need three days off with pay and no Comp. used. If we shoot at each other would that be 6 days a piece? I'm in. Sometimes you just gotta laugh.

Speedy recovery to the officer.

Should be a felony charge if the dog attacked and had to be shot. Asshole owner should have to fork over $$$ to the city big time.

Why don't the alderthieves put their collected 52 brain cells together and come up with super f$cking fine$$ for anyone who's pitbull attacks. Can't pay??? 1 year mandatory time in Crook County Jail.

One day many years ago a guy in my district at the time 023 was involved in a shooting where he was forced to shoot a guy who answered the door holding a 44 magnum revolver

When he returned from the mandatory 3 days off he asked the W/C at roll call the following question

If I shoot someone evryday for 8 years can I retire with a full pension ?? (At that time it was 32 and a day)

As I read this I see it was funnier if you were there but its still funny

Be safe out there guys and gals
