While I do of course hope that the copper pulls through, what was he doing in a parked car at 2am in that neighborhood? Nothing good happens after midnight in this town. Stay safe, fellas.

What really pissed me off is the Trib had a picture of his vehicle and the license plate was in full view for everyone to see it. If it was sh*tbird joe's, they wouldn't have published that.

Godspeed officer.

Why on earth, at a time like this, would you say something like that. Who cares where and when he was parked and with whom. Aslong as he was doing nothing illegal then it shouldn't be an issue.

Fellow officers in a case like this there may have been no warning or no time to react...I understand this was a robbery...and if so...Bob may not have had much or any time to react...with that said in any event ALWAYS carry your weapon...NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE GOING OR FOR HOW LONG...ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY!!!! You have been given the permission to carry a weapon....CARRY IT!!! off duty at all times!! Several years ago I attended the "Bulletproof Mind" seminar presented by Lt Col David Grossman and if that didn't convince you to carry your weapon off duty I don't know what will...EXCELLENT seminar...if you ever get the opportunity to see him do it.I understand that Det SOTO passed away from his injuries today at 0300hrs as reported by the media....Rest in Peace Bob and let all officers everywhere be protected from evil, God bless and please be safe!!

Hey, SCC. They're saying this was an armed robbery. Gone bad, apparently; don't know if they got anything off the officer or the lady. There's a pattern in this area. But no one (police or community) has heard/been told about it. WHY?
