Excessive Force Allegation
- Harrison District officers in the 500 block of North Lawndale Avenue witnessed three dogs attacking a little boy about 7:50 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor. NBC5's [...] reported that the dogs' owner lived next to the vacant lot, and the property is gated, but the pit bulls escaped and attacked the boy while he was playing with his friends. The child's brother tried without success to pull the pit bulls off of him.
"The dog wouldn't let go, they just locked down," said witness Lawrence Balark. "Another kid was able to run and flag down a police officer that came back to the scene. When the police officer got back to the scene, he used excessive force, and pepper spray, (but) the dog was just relentless and wouldn't give up."
We certainly hope this gentleman's use of the words "excessive force" are just a synonym for "baton." Otherwise we're going to see the "reverends" all up in arms again about killing a dog to save a child, and then the cougar people are going to get all uppity again and we'll have to filter out nasty-grams from the ASPCA.
Why does the media give theses idiots a platform?

Do you believe the madia. They put the mope on television stating that the Chicago Pooleece used ecxesive force to get the dogs off the kid. So what now?
Makes me sick.
An outstanding job was done by 1121! They saved that kid's life.
Great now the real DOG asses will be suing the department...HA!
This one is hitting too close to home for me. He was my baby mommas play cousin. He was gonna get his obedience diploma and stuff. The Police just beat him down and took it away from him. Why they got to do him like that?
Maybe copper shoots earlier if crazy liberals don't make such a big deal about coppers shooting the cougar. This is a dog, imagine what a cougar could have done to a child. Crazy liberals are trying to turn everyone into pussies.
The guy probably meant to say 'exceedingly great force'.
Or exceptional force'.
Or 'whacked the fuck outa da mutt' force.
I was on-scene for this. That poor child's leg resembled raw hamburger meat. AWESOME AWESOME job by the officers involved. And anyone else who finds this excessive can GO FUCK THEMSELVES!
I was there. Without a doubt, those two officers saved that childs life. Great job.
I think Ole Boy just heard the word "excessive" so much, he thought it was something good.
He probably thought of "excessive" as "a lot", not "too much".
When the police officer got back to the scene, he used excessive force, and pepper spray, (but) the dog was just relentless and wouldn't give up."
In my opinion, this individual didn't really mean "excessive force." Like you said, I think he means "baton."
Since it's used out of context and his other words imply the cops did the right thing ("the dog was relentless and wouldn't give up"), I think he was just using a big phrase he's heard on TV a few times.
If he had really meant it, his words would have been something like, "And that poor dog didn't have a chance. He was just sitting there playing with his tail, minding his own business..."
Just a misused phrase, imo. Still, the media should have at least questioned/corrected the guy before they aired an interview where he sounded like a dumbass.
Annnnyway...
Good job, officers.
Da POHLEESESEZ dun beat an shot dat poh dog for nuthin! I mean, dey cudda jis shot him in his paw! He was fiddina git his life togethuh. He grajumated from obedience skool on da ahnnah roll. He wuz fiddina be on a rap video.
Po po jis doh like dogs thas all. An cougars neithuh.

I almost choked on my cocoa puffs reading this...too funny !
The Media gives these moronic Imbiciles a Platform, because the Media is composed of even bigger Moronic Imbiciles.
Saw the tape last night. The guy was definitely not criticizing the cops on the scene. He supported them and was glad they were there. The news crew was working fast and had to use the interview they had.
You could say his use of "excessive force" when he really meant to say "appropriate force" is revealing of the mind state of his community and criticize that, but that's it.
SCC, this blog is generally great and obviously you can do what you want but I don't understand why you allow the racist comments to go up.
Great work by the guys on the scene.
Great job "KID."
Good job officers!!! They can not take care of themselves, of course their pets are out of control.

It's 'imbeciles', the plural of 'imbecile', imbecile.

I didn't hear anything about the use of gerbil voodoo on the poor mutt...They could have talked him off that poor boys leg. Let the investigation begin!!
I almost fell out of my chair laughing at that moron trying to sound all edjubicated and shit. He probably knows alot about compruters and drives a bruick. They have gotten so used to making allegations against us that they can't say force without using the word excessive. Was the dawg a Rockwilder? Hope the kid is okay!
It's too bad that one of the mutts got away and wasn't dispatched to doggie heaven as well.
Excellent response from the Chicago Police Department. You saved this childs life.
Let the critics be damned.
Stay safe and vote Republican.
Crazy liberals are trying to turn everyone into pussies.
That is because they are Pussies, and they fear the brave. So go ahead and vote Democrat see what happens.
You left out,
The Independent Peta Rover Association, headed by Illiana Roverstein, is investigating.
