But he dismissed the ranking as "laughable.''
No mention of the climbing homicide rate, skyrocketing shootings and questionable tracking of property crimes. A pension system about to crumble, $400 million in budget "shortfalls" and an apathetic police force working 15 months without a contract. It's all just "laughable." What a clown.

As far as young guys my partner and I were eating the other night at punkys on 26th and wallace when about 12 tru kids came in and never acknowledged us at the table, even though i waved! Chicago has helped to elect lousy governments at the city, county and state levels, often overriding the desires of other due to nothing but sheer volume and the unspoken threat of violence on an individual basis. Next, enact tax upon tax upon tax. When taxes get to be too much, add "fees" to generate more money. Make sure you have a sticker proving that you're a proud resident or get ticketed. The suburbs do this, which was yet another reason for me to move back downstate. Make sure all this revenue gets directed to friends, relatives and associated cronies, and if they half-ass any work they're contracted to do, oh well. Next, deprive people of liberties like being able to smoke where they please, eat what they please, defend themselves, defend others, and go to schools that aren't manufacturers of failure. Finally, put the people sworn to protect the residents of the city in harm's way physically, legally and economically. Then expect said protectors to smile and nod when you tell the press their study is flawed.
Stressed? Chicagoans? Chalkiemania is running wild and the mayor says there's no reason to feel stressed? He's the freakin' stressor in most of these cases! Remove him, remove the remaining Tillmanesque aldercritters, hell, dump the lot of them, the county junta and the legislators you keep sending down here and maybe things will get better.

Why would Chicago be stressful at all?
* The highest taxes in the country (sales tax, cigs, liquor, property tax, bottled water, utilities, etc)
* Only criminals, not responsible citizens are allowed to have guns. You are not safe.
* A public transportation system in shambles
* Your fu***d if you own a car too, because the city will do everything in its power to ticket, boot, and fine you and your automobile.
* A county/state/city government filled with waste, clout, nepotism, and corruption.
* The possibility of having the Olympics that only Daley wants.
I moved 4 hours from that shithole, and yes it is stressful in that city. You ought to see how relaxed it is out here, and well run things are, w/a tenth of the taxes.
I was a much happier (white) man in that city under HAROLD and EUGENE. That f**ken white dictator ruined that city.

Cook County Board commissioners Tuesday backed hiring as thier in-house corruption buster the same attorney who has defended them and Board President Todd Stroger against claims of illegal political hiring.
Assistant State's Attny Patrick Blanchard was chosen the day after coming to his own defense, saying he would act with "independence, obejectivity and integrity at every ste" as county inspector general. Richard Devine also backed Blanchard, who has represented the county in the landmark federal case that prohibits political hiring, promotions and discipline for most county employees.
Michael shakman, the attorney who brought the patronage case, ripped the choice. "His appointment would say clearly and unmistakably the Cook County is not ready for patronage reform," Shakman told commissioners. "To appoint your own lawyer as the watchdog over your own political hiring and firing and other illegal activity makes a joke out of the concept of independent oversight that this office is supposed to provide."

1,200 cubic inches of rain fall = 5.19 gallons
9 inches of rainfall = 46.71 gallons
So, if every citizen who owns a home with an average 1,200 sq. ft. roof foot print were to have had a 55 gallon rain barrel to receive the rainfall landing upon their rooftops, technically, the mayor's logic holds true.
